What is successful followup etiquette?
1) Send your resume to your potential
boss, NOT the hiring manager
2) If they say no phonecalls, call after
hours, leave a message and ask if
they received your resume.
3) If they don't specify, call during the
day, quickly introduce yourself and
ask if they received all of your
materials and if they have any
questions.
4) At the end of the call, ask, when do
you expect to make a decision on
this?

the training budget for you to
attend trainings.
Research conferences,
webinars, and workshops in
your area or virtually.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 5. Why are you the best candidate? 6. Why do you want to work at our nonprofit?

What is successful followup etiquette? 1) Send your resume to your potential boss, NOT the hiring manager 2) If they say no phonecalls, call after hours, leave a message and ask if they received your resume. 3) If they don't specify, call during the day, quickly introduce yourself and ask if they received all of your materials and if they have any questions. 4) At the end of the call, ask, when do you expect to make a decision on this?

How can you sync up with your boss?  Have a conversation where you explain to your boss what you need.  Have a conversation about how you can advance in the organization.

  • 39. Research the last 3 years of 990s for the nonprofit on Guidestar.org. Have a bottom line. Ask: What are the metrics that I would have to hit in the next 6 months to justify you giving me a raise? Negotiate for a higher nonprofit salary

You Say:  What's the range that we're talking about here?  Get me some more information about the growth potential of the job and get back to me and we'll go from there.  I'd prefer not to reveal that.
