This document summarizes Jesus' Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7. It discusses how the Kingdom of Heaven is for those who are poor in spirit, persecuted for righteousness, and strive to follow God's commands. Citizens of this kingdom are blessed both now and in the future. The kingdom exists in people's hearts as they hunger for righteousness. It changes relationships by making its citizens meek, merciful, and peacemakers. Though persecuted, the kingdom shines for all to see as its citizens bring glory to God both now and forever.
How does the coming kingdom of God bring you hope? Can you identify "strongholds" of the enemy and how they have affected your life? If so, list them. How has or could God use you to invade Satan's domain and build His kingdom? These and other questions are addressed in the biblical study.

3rd message in a series entitled, "The Supremacy of Christ, A Study in Colossians"
While scholars differ on the specifics of Revelation 20, the general message is clear. Christ will return and establish His kingdom, reward His people, and judge all that is unrighteous.
The World is in darkness (spiritually ignorant of God, or worse), Jesus came to bring us to the light. Once in the light, we are to let our light shine, meaning that we must wake up, cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Salt and Light: You are the light of the worldStephen Palm
Within the language of Mt. 5:16 there is a rich vocabulary of words describing how Jesus intended us to function as the light of the world. We will explore these words and the imagery they suggest and then explore our calling to dispel darkness and reveal the light of Christ. We will also explore some practical ways that we can do this.
Salt & Light: You are the salt of the earthStephen Palm
In this two week series, Pastor Steve will look at two metaphors which Jesus uses to describe His church, salt and light. This week we will look at Mt. 5:13: You are the salt of the earth.

Seminar conducted at Manuel L. Quezon High School, Manila Philippines September 1, 2007. Presentation showing qualities of leaders and leadership styles.
Jesus said that if He cast out demons by the Spirit of God then the Kingdom of God has come upon us. Today, we have been given the Holy Spirit. The power from on-high is already here and we have to carry out the mission that we have been entrusted. Until and unless, we allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us, our entrusted mission will never be fulfilled.
Lesson 3 in a series on the Sermon on the Mount. Adapted from a lesson with the same title by Chip Bell at www.Bible.org. Presented September 23, 2012, at Palm Desert Church of Christ, by Dale Wells
Since the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Church has been empowered to do greater things. The reason why many churches are still living in a limbo is because they do not realize that their positions in the Kingdom of God. Recognize who you are in Christ and take charge of your situation today. God's vision is always accompanied by His empowerment.
S. Mateo 5:5-8,14-30

2. The Kingdom of Heaven Mt 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Mt 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Mt 5:19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and Teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Mt 5:20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. Mt 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
3. This Kingdom has a King Matthew is the Gospel of the King He was the King as a child He was King on a cross Jesus did not come to reform religion He rightly expects obedience The kingdom is now The kingdom is to come
4. This Kingdom is Blessed The Old Testament ends with the word ‘curse’ (Malachi 4:6) The Lord’s first recorded sermon begins with ‘blessed’ Blessed - Receiving God’s favour, fortunate, good, happy (feelings associated with receiving God’s favour) Citizens of the kingdom are blessed now There are more blessings to come
5. This Kingdom is in Hearts The sermon begins with the poor in spirit, citizens of the kingdom are spiritually bankrupt They receive the kingdom now They mourn for their own sin They will be comforted They hunger and thirst for righteousness They will be filled They are pure in heart They will see God
6. This Kingdom Changes Relationships Meek – strength under control, considered a bad thing in the ancient world They will inherit the earth, this must have stunned the hearers Merciful Will be shown mercy, how can they fail to be merciful when they have received mercy? Peacemakers They will be called sons of God, citizens are in the business of reconciliation, in relationships and between people and God
7. This Kingdom is Persecuted The kingdom is now for the persecuted The blessing is when we are persecuted for righteousness or because of Jesus “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18)
8. This Kingdom Shines This is not a secret kingdom This kingdom makes a difference It can be seen It lights the darkness It brings glory to God “Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations.” (Psalm 145:13)
