The World is in darkness (spiritually ignorant of God, or worse), Jesus came to bring us to the light. Once in the light, we are to let our light shine, meaning that we must wake up, cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Tomorrow we are starting a new series of study:
“The New Man” is a seminar that will focus on the spirit of man, its soul and its body.
We will learn the properties of each one of these three parts of man.
Our spirit is called to be the ruling part of us, actually, our spirit is the main part of our being, and is the place where the spirit of God dwells in.
We meet in Room #3 at CTF Toronto Wednesdays from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. I invite you to come and participate with us in this discovery of how to let our spirit become the ruler of our life.
Pre Encounter Lesson 7: Knowing Our EnemyRhea Deligero
This document discusses understanding Satan and exercising judgment against him. It describes Satan's primary purpose as hardening people's hearts against God and blocking their minds from accepting salvation. It then lists Satan's characteristics, including being sly, a liar, destructive, tempting, and disguising himself as an angel of light. It provides four ways to exercise judgment against Satan: 1) use authority to bind the strong man, 2) live with integrity, 3) watch your words, and 4) cancel all arguments against you. It emphasizes understanding the enemy, using one's authority against demons, and making a decision to live righteously.
The document provides an overview of Lesson 11 which discusses the prophetic message and raison d'être of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It covers:
1. The prophetic resurgence of the Church as foretold in Revelation 10.
2. The prophetic message of the three angels in Revelation 14:6-12 containing themes of creation, judgment, and the gospel.
3. How this final message calls God's followers to come out of Babylon and join the faithful end-time remnant by keeping God's commandments and having faith in Jesus.
Dr. Pothana's sermon discusses Jesus seeing the spiritual harvest as plentiful but lacking laborers. The sermon examines Jesus healing and teaching crowds, having compassion because people were like sheep without a shepherd. Jesus tells disciples the harvest is plentiful but laborers few, so they should pray for more workers. The sermon explores Jesus giving the apostles authority to heal and cast out demons, and their initial mission to the lost sheep of Israel. It emphasizes seeing the spiritual harvest as Jesus did, with compassion.
This document discusses being "born again" from a passage in the Bible (John 3:1-7). It describes how Nicodemus came to Jesus at night and asked how someone can be born again when they are old. Jesus explains that one must be born of water and the spirit. The document then provides explanations of what it means to be born again spiritually and why it is necessary. It outlines the differences between being born physically and being born of God spiritually. Finally, it gives steps on how to be born again by believing in Jesus, and signs that indicate someone has been born again, such as knowing you belong to God and stopping sin. It concludes by saying that after being born again, one must grow

Before Christ came into our lives, we were children of darkness. But even as God is light, and Christ is the light of the world, so also are we are children of light. As such, we ought to walk in the light and behave in a manner consistent with our calling. Wake up oh Christian and let your light shine.
God is love. Love is the very essence of God's being and cannot be separated from Him. While attributes like goodness and mercy describe aspects of God, love defines His fundamental nature. The greatest demonstration of God's love is seen in sending Jesus to die on the cross. Though God hates sin, He loves all people and sent His Son to save sinners and make salvation available to all who believe.

1. Gives strength in times of trouble.
2. Provides protection in temptation.
3. Brings mercy when one is discouraged.
4. Gives eternal perspective to life.
The document discusses the importance of prayer, confession of sins, and having a spiritual connection with God through Jesus Christ. It provides several key points:
1) People should pray for everyone, including those in power, as this pleases God and allows people to live peaceful lives as they worship.
2) To have effective prayer, one must confess their sins to others and to God, as confessing sins allows God to forgive and purify people.
3) Having a spiritual connection to God through Jesus Christ is essential, as Jesus is the only way for people to be saved and know the truth about God.

This document provides an overview of a seminar on learning to prophesy through visions. The seminar leader believes God gives visions and dreams, but we can shut them out if we don't understand how visions work. The seminar will help attendees realize past experiences may have been revelations from God, not just imagination. Churches are sometimes reluctant to accept visions, discouraging "visionary" people. The seminar aims to provide guidance on developing the gift of visions so people can share their visions instead of leaving churches. Preparing one's senses through sanctification can lead to the spiritual realm. A vision involves supernatural appearances or revelations from God. The document discusses the keys of prayer, faith, and obedience in hearing God's voice. It states that through regular prayer and developing a personal relationship with God, one can hear His voice in thoughts of encouragement. Having faith in God without proof is also important. Obedience to God by following His commands makes it easier to believe and trust Him. The document provides five ways to practice hearing God's voice: setting aside daily quiet time, being still, not demanding answers from God, expecting to hear from Him, and being aware of messages from angels.
The document discusses the importance of spiritual growth and maturity. It outlines different stages of spiritual development using the analogy of an infant, child, teenager, and mature adult. Each stage is characterized by certain behaviors and mindsets. The goal is to progress from basic understanding to discernment, submission to authority, and mentoring others through mature character and intimacy with God.
The document discusses 7 things that give Christians joy according to the book of Philippians: 1) The joy of an obedient Christian life, 2) The joy of ministry, 3) The joy of answered prayer, 4) The joy of discipleship, 5) The joy of gentleness, 6) The joy of belonging to God's family, and 7) The joy of contentment. Each of these sources of joy is explained in 1-2 sentences with references to relevant Bible passages. The overall message is that true joy comes from living in obedience to God, serving him through ministry, trusting in his answers to prayer, making disciples, demonstrating gentleness, being part of his global family, and being content in

The document discusses the importance of building up the church and defending the truth. It warns that it is possible to backslide from the faith through sins of word, deed or thought like forsaking church assemblies. It encourages those who have backslidden to confess their sins and seek forgiveness. It also warns against gossip and idle talk, describing gossip as being "full of deadly poison." It emphasizes the importance of not forsaking regular church attendance.
The document is a sermon about walking as children of light and imitating God by avoiding sinful behaviors. It discusses how Christians must walk in love as Christ did, redeeming their time and using it wisely. It warns that sin will cause us to lose our inheritance in God's kingdom and face God's wrath. Christians are called to be lights in the world that others may see their good works and glorify God.
This document contains several Bible verses that reference seeing or experiencing the glory of God or Jesus. It begins with a quote from John 1:14 stating "we have seen his glory." Further quotes from Exodus, Luke, and Revelation describe instances where God's glory was visible, such as shining around angels or Jesus' transfigured appearance. The document emphasizes experiencing the glory of God and Jesus through Scripture. It was compiled by Dave Stewart and contains a synopsis about being reminded of the importance of seeing Jesus' glory.
This document discusses the need for Christians to engage intensely in evangelism. It notes that billions are dying without Christ and churches may cease to exist unless more is done to spread the gospel. Some reasons evangelism is not being done effectively include a lack of concern, knowledge, courage, faith and focus among Christians. The document urges Christians to fulfill Christ's command to make disciples of all nations and show love for others by sharing the gospel. It encourages emulating the evangelistic zeal of the early church to fulfill their purpose and experience the joy of saving souls.
This document discusses the need for intense engagement in evangelism. It notes that billions are dying without Christ and churches may cease to exist unless more is done to meet this need. However, the need is not being met due to a lack of concern, knowledge, courage, faith and focus among Christians. The document urges Christians to fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples, to love others by offering salvation, and to have the zeal of the early church. It argues intense engagement is needed because of God's command, to show love for others, and because of the joy in saving souls and the terror of judgment day. The conclusion calls Christians to restore the church's original mission of intense engagement in God's vineyard.
The document discusses the roles and responsibilities of leaders and followers in the church. It states that God raises up and guides leaders to equip others for ministry and service. Both leaders and followers have important duties: leaders are to watch over the flock, while followers should submit to leadership, check teachings against scripture, and follow directions willingly. When issues arise, followers can go elsewhere if needed, follow their conscience on gray areas, and provide input to leaders. The goal is to maintain unity, humility, and peace in the church body.

“Living Upright In An Upside Down World" - The world was turned upside down when Adam & Eve committed the first sin. By Genesis chapter 6, the world had become so wicked that God destroyed it with a flood. Only eight people were saved from the destruction. The upright have always been in the minority and with the world around us so ungodly, living an upright life can be a real challenge. - MP3 / KEYNOTE / PPT / PDF - (11/10/2013) http://w65stchurchofchrist.org/coc/

The document discusses Paul's letter to the Galatians regarding those who were promoting circumcision. It provides several reasons Paul gives for rejecting circumcision: 1) Christ will be of no benefit if they receive circumcision. 2) They will be obligated to keep the entire law. 3) They will be severed from Christ and no longer have access to grace. The document also notes Paul's harsh statement that those troubling the Galatians about circumcision should go further and emasculate or castrate themselves.
The document discusses living a life in the light as opposed to the darkness of sinful behaviors. It explains that as children of God we should imitate Him and live lives of love. We are warned against immorality, impurity, greed and other sins that exclude one from God's kingdom. As people of the light, we are called to think on what is good, righteous and true, and bring wrongdoings into the light rather than partnering with sin.
1) A living sacrifice refers to offering one's body to God, as described by Paul in Romans 12:1, rather than animal sacrifices under the Old Covenant.
2) Under the new covenant established by Jesus's sacrifice, believers are called to completely yield themselves to God's control as instruments of righteousness.
3) To be a living sacrifice in practice means not being conformed to the ways of the world by renewing one's mind through regularly hearing, reading, studying, meditating on, and memorizing God's word as revealed in the Bible.
The document discusses Jesus as the light of the world and how believers should let their light shine for others. It provides several Bible verses that depict Jesus and believers as a light for others. The key ideas are that Jesus is the ultimate source of light and truth, and that Christians should spread God's light and wisdom to the world through their words and deeds so that others may come to know God.
Part of the elders series, focusing on Psalm 91 and God's promises if we abide in Him. But what does it mean to abide in Him? This sermon discusses our quiet time with God.
This document discusses the concept of PCI, which stands for Broken, Beloved, Belonging, Building, and Bridging. It explores biblical passages about being called to share the light of Christ with others through serving as witnesses. Four metaphors are presented: servant, witness, salt, and light. Sharing the light of Christ comes at a cost of expending oneself for the sake of others.
This document discusses the metaphor of being a light in four key ways:
1) As servants who spread the light of Jesus Christ to others
2) As witnesses who tell the story of Jesus and how he has transformed their lives
3) With an attitude of salt that preserves others and enhances lives
4) By spreading the word of God which illuminates lives and imparts understanding
It acknowledges that bringing light to others often comes at personal cost to share God's love more fully.
Romans 13:11-14: Paul powerfully reminds us that we must wake up, because of our tendency to be complacent. Because our salvation is nearer, he teaches us to put off darkness, put on light and walk properly. This reminds us that our transformation is not just about ourselves, but about our influence on this world to be transformed also.
The document discusses how people can experience a changed heart through living in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. It notes that the heart is deceitful and sick by nature, but through confessing sins, dying to fleshly desires daily, and walking in dependence on the Spirit, one can be transformed. Avoiding quenching or grieving the Spirit and presenting one's body as a living sacrifice allows the Spirit to change a person from the inside out. Living filled with the Spirit is a matter of surrendering fully to the Spirit rather than how much of the Spirit one contains.
This document provides an overview of the great controversy between God and Satan according to biblical prophecy. It describes how Satan rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven. It outlines how Satan deceived Adam and Eve, bringing sin into the world. The consequences of sin are separation from God and death. God's response was to send Jesus to save humanity. The document discusses Satan's ongoing war against God and humanity. It summarizes that there will be a final judgment where all will acknowledge Jesus as Lord, Satan and sinners will be destroyed, and God's faithful people will be with Him forever in a re-created world without sin or death.

Of all the metaphors for believers, the one most often used in the NT is “adelphos” (siblings, brothers and sisters). After Jesus’ ascension the company who gathered in the upper room consisted of both men and women, and Peter calls all of them brethren. In Acts 15, both Jewish believers and Gentile believers are called brethren.

The document discusses Jesus Christ's relationship to believers as their brother. It notes that Christ partook of flesh and blood to become like his brothers in every way so that he could be a merciful and faithful high priest to help those who are tempted. As the Son of God, Christ calls believers his brothers and sisters and shares in their humanity so that he can bring many sons and daughters to glory. The document encourages believers that as holy brothers and sisters of Christ, they share in his heavenly calling from God.

A375 Example Taste the taste of the Lord, the taste of the Lord The taste of...franktsao4
It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
