Editor's Notes
I've heard lessons for the young, for married couples, for singles, etc., but I don't remember any lessons for widows (except for one I delivered several years back). Yet, most every congragation has several in the congregatation who are widows. There are also numerous passages that deal with God's special interest in widows. The word, “Widow” or “Widows” is mention over 90 times in the Bible.
Knowing how strongly God feels toward the widow, what should our attitude be?
The lesson for all of us is an understanding of how our Lord watches over us in our time of need AND how we need to watch over others, esp. widows and orphans, in their time of need.
The Lord built a hedge (shield) around Job as He does us all and it frustrates Satan.
Acts 22:16‘Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’
