2. Hello Year 4!
We hope that you and your families are safe and well. Now that you
have completed your learning pack, you will find your learning on here!
There will be a maths, English and afternoon lesson everyday
(Monday-Friday). If you have any questions or problems, please use

Multiplication bingo
You need to make as many
multiplication facts as you
can. You can use the
numbers only once per
calculation. E.g. 5x5=25
would be wrong as there is
only one 5 and not two!
You have to use
multiplication – no division,
subtraction or addition!
You have 2 minutes….go!
7. When adding or subtracting larger numbers, we use the column method.
567 212
+287 -176
It’s really important that you line the numbers up correctly in their columns.
The hundreds need to be in line with the hundreds.
The tens need to be in line with the tens, etc.
8. If one number has a digit in one column and another doesn’t, it might help
to put a 0 in the empty column to ensure all the other digits are lined up
correctly.
For example:
563
+ 039
9. Don’t be scared of decimals!
Nothing changes. The method stays exactly the same and the decimal
point always stays in the same place- between the ones and tenths
columns.
67.84
+03.72
