2. Film trailers are an important part of a films marketing process. They are created to get a message across to
audiences of the plot of the film without revealing the ending. They are for the general audience to see what is
going to happen in the film but again without revealing the ending. They work by showing certain areas of the
film with some mixed dialogue taken from the film as well. Usually the dialogue is taken from other bits and
added next to each other to make it fit together. We see trailers on the TV and the internet mainly. The trailer
will be shown at a certain time to ensure that the audience they are wanting to show it to will see it. Also
showing the trailer on websites such as YouTube and Facebook will attract audiences because they are
mainstream websites which are visited loads by people everyday. The trailers are released months before the
actual film comes out so the audience can build up excitement for it. Also, more trailers will be released along
the way to show more parts of the trailer without revealing a lot.

4. The marketing package signifies the genre of the film by using posters and trailers to let their audience
understand what they are going to be making. The posters show characters and the set of the film to give an
idea of what the film is about. The promotional packaging gives the genre away because of the use of colors,
costumes and characters for it. For example, battleships uses an army uniformed character with a battleships
behind it with blue meteors flying out the sky towards earth. This gives the genre of the film away but not the
whole story since it is just a picture.
