The questionnaire about music magazine preferences was distributed primarily to teenagers in a college environment. The most popular music genres were pop/R&B and rock/heavy metal, with pop being more popular among females and rock among males. 50% of respondents said they would pay between £2-4 for a music magazine. Most respondents were male, reflecting the gender makeup of the college location where the questionnaires were conducted. When asked the most paid for a magazine in the past, responses were evenly split between £0-2 and £2-4, indicating people generally pay what they say they are willing to pay or slightly more.

Because of the environment I gave my questionnaire out in the college environment my results were
mostly for teenagers, which explains the large red area.

The genres varied quite widely but the two largest percentages of music genre were Pop/RnB and
Rock/heavy metal. The pop percentage was mainly female fans whereas the rock percentage was
mainly male fans both of these are very stereotypical findings. The size of the pop/RnB percentage
was typical because its mainly mainstream music but the size of the rock/heavy metal one was
surprising because it was very big.

50% of the people asked said they would buy music magazines for a price between £2 - £4 people
who said they would buy the magazine for the price between 0 - £2 were mostly the people that said
they don’t really buy magazines.

Most of the people that were asked were male because of the place in college that I went to do the
questionnaires consisted mostly of males, but still had females in it. The people that said other were
just people that didn’t really want to say whether they were male or female.

There was a fifty fifty split between the two prices which says that all the people that have actually
bought magazines have either paid what they said they would pay or a little bit more than they said
they were willing to pay for a music magazine.
