Mark Zuckerberg was born in Dobbs Ferry, New York and attended Harvard University. He created Facemash in 2003 which compared photos of Harvard students and gained popularity. Inspired by this, in 2004 Zuckerberg created TheFacebook, later renamed Facebook, which allowed students at major universities to connect. Facebook expanded publicly in 2006. Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard to focus on Facebook full-time and moved the company to Palo Alto. Through advertising and other means, Facebook was able to generate revenue. Zuckerberg became a billionaire and one of the most influential people in technology as Facebook grew to over a billion users worldwide.

Facemash, the predecessor to Facebook was created by
Mark Zuckerberg on October 28, 2003. In contrast to what we
saw in the movie Social Network, Facemash was not
a website through which you could only compare the girls at the
