Mark Zuckerberg was born in 1984 in New York and showed an early interest in computer programming. He created his first computer program at age 12 and attended Harvard University, where he launched Facebook in 2004 from his dorm room. Facebook expanded rapidly and went on to gain over 2 billion users. Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard to focus on Facebook full-time and has since overseen the company's growth into a major social media platform and technology company. He is now focused on philanthropic efforts through his foundation and working to build new technologies.
