Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born in 1984 in White Plains, New York. He co-founded Facebook in 2004 while attending Harvard University and dropped out to focus on Facebook. As CEO, Zuckerberg owns 24% of Facebook and was the world's youngest billionaire in 2008. He launched Facebook from his dorm room to share photos and information about students. It spread to other colleges and became a global social network. Zuckerberg moved operations to California and received funding and advice from investors. By 2010, Facebook had over 500 million users.
