     The school holidays are here and it doesn’t seem that long ago since we were off
       for half term. Check out our Easter Treasure Hunt that should keep the kids
       busy for a couple of hours! (If you could let us know who is coming in advance
           that would be great as we want to make sure we have enough prizes!)

      We have a family Fun Day coming up in June and as it is on Fathers Day there
                          will be a free gift for the first 20 dads!

            Keep checking in for details of future events, Christmas Party etc.

       If you have any ideas for events please contact a member of the committee.

      We now have business cards that have our contact details on them, this should
     help people who need to contact us and aren’t on our mailing list. Please take the
         time to complete the updated details form below and if possible an email
      address that we could send our newsletter to as this would greatly reduce the
                                         cost involved.

      Information for Children and Young People with Diabetes
When you next attend Diabetic Clinic at Ormskirk Hospital, be sure to look
                        out for some posters dotted about the department.




           The Paediatric Diabetes Team – led by Dr May Ng is part of a National Diabetes
                                   research study called The Epic Project.



               The Epic Project is a research study run jointly by Bangor University and
            Cardiff University and is funded by the National Institute for Health Research
                    (NIHR) and The Service Delivery and Organisation Programme.



            The study aims to find out if new information packs on diabetes are better or
           worse than the information that is currently available for children in the United
                                                  Kingdom



              There are currently ten hospitals across the country involved in the study.
            Southport and Ormskirk will be the third hospital in the North West to offer
                the study to their patients. To date 190 children have been recruited.



            The poster includes a useful web-site address which has lots more information
                     about the study. To find out more go to www.epicproject.info
