PAC News
PAC would like to thank the students and their parents for supporting the
Scholastic Book fair in September this year. We were able to donate $300
worth of books to the library.
Also a big thanks to those of you who supported our Poinsettia fundraiser.
DeVry Greenhouse always delivers quality plants. Money raised will be put
towards playground equipment.
BC School Fruit and Vegetable Nutritional Program
A notice was sent home this week. For your information, if you do not want your child
participating for any reason, please indicate on the form and return it to the school. We are always
looking for healthy alternatives for our students.
A few facts that you may not know:
- children who eat healthy foods are more attentive and are able to focus more on their school work.
- fruits and vegetables contain many vitamins and minerals that are important to their growth and
development.
- only 20 to 25% of children eat the recommended daily minimum of five servings of fruits and
vegetables.

2. Division 5 and 6 wrapped up their Informal Debate Competition on Wednesday, December 14th. It was
a great success with students debating a number of controversial issues in today's society such as
(1) Should Video Games be Allowed to Have Violence?
(2) Should the School District Allow Students to Have Cell Phones in the Classroom?
(3) Should Marijuana be Legalized and Regulated by the Government?
There were days of research, learning the debate structures, and practicing. All students presented their
debates in class, and the best debaters went on to compete on Wednesday in the art room with an
audience of 60. Mrs. Cheema, Miss Fales and Mr. Drouillard were very impressed with the results
