This report discusses a laboratory procedure to study the effect of reactant concentration on the rate
of the reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium thiosulfate, with the aim of determining the
order of each reactant and the rate law for the reaction.
For this experiment, the reactants were added to a well plate in varying concentrations. The
reaction was timed by using a stopwatch and observing the production of a precipitate. The data
collected during this procedure was then analyzed to determine the reaction order for each reactant
as well at the rate law for the reaction.
The hydrochloric acid was determined to have a reaction order of 0, while the sodium thiosulfate
was determined to have a reaction order of 1. The reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium
thiosulfate was determined to be first order with respect to N2S2O3. The k constant for this
reaction was calculated to be 0.1 1/s.
We conclude that the concentration of hydrochloric acid does not have an effect on the rate of the
reaction. The concentration of sodium thiosulfate, however, is directly proportional to the rate of
the reaction.

town of Aprilia, which created a massive dent in enemy lines, but were unbale to breakout of the

As each day passes, the events that we encounter enters through each and everyone of our minds
and becomes an assimilation of experiences. Over a long period of time one s past experiences
come to affect how they see newer ones. As each and every experience fills our minds, it creates
