- 2. Magazine draft: This is the rough draft of the magazine with illustrations of the sort of font and layout I desired. Pull quote Large/tall sans serif font
- 3. Magazine in development. Figuring out a name for the name of the documentary/headline was tough however we eventually came up with Excess: Teen Drinkers, as though it were part of a series of Excess documentaries. Following the layout of the draft in terms of the main image position, the body of text and columns and also the position of the headline. I also wanted to include some more image as you can see below but later on decided the image of people should be limited. Light Abadi font (tall and bold title) kept throughout all the heading and facts in the documentary to keep the authenticity and professional nature of our documents. This is also the exact way the title in our documentary appears. Paragraph format – Here in the body of the text, I inserted a drop cap(following convention of existing magazines. Also on InDesign I split the text body into four columns.
- 4. Final design of magazine The main image used was carried over from the half-way stage: a club in Solihull town centre, relating to our documentary topic. I used Photoshop to manipulate the image and put an effect on it then I used the gradient tool to give it the ‘dark-tolight’ effect. Light Abadi font kept (tall and bold title) kept throughout all the heading and facts in the documentary to keep the authenticity and professional nature. This font has also been formatted to the large and small pull quotes on the righthand page and also on the byline. A small image of the writer was included here so that it followed convention. This connotes that they were the one of the The images that I felt did not belong overlapping the main image had another purpose and they lay behind the text. Three still photographs of alcohol products so that the reader would subconsciously be looking at the pictures whilst reading the text body.
