The document provides details on the planning and research for a proposed digital hip hop magazine. It discusses exploring existing magazines in the genre for inspiration and using collages of popular hip hop artists. The target audience is identified as male and female teenagers. Key decisions around the magazine include using a dominant image of a well-known artist for the cover, incorporating high key lighting in photos to create a bright look, and opting for a digital over print format to reach a wider audience. Primary research photos are shown and secondary sources of content like a downloaded font and image from online articles are mentioned. An initial draft is critiqued for issues with text positioning and using a single text color.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

How to Build a Module in Odoo 17 Using the Scaffold MethodCeline George
Odoo provides an option for creating a module by using a single line command. By using this command the user can make a whole structure of a module. It is very easy for a beginner to make a module. There is no need to make each file manually. This slide will show how to create a module using the scaffold method.
2. Intro Slide
I will be using digital over print because digital magazines have
a wider target audience now as you can access them anywhere
where as print magazines you cant you can also get digital
magazines online where as print requires you to go to a store
to buy them. A lot of people also prefer to read digital
magazines over print. Digital magazine are often found to be
easier for the reader to access as you can store them anywhere
and can access them wherever you are where as this is not the
case with print magazines as you actually have to carry it about
with which could result in the magazine getting damaged
6. Inspiration slide
I have explored some existing magazines within the hip hop industry. I had looked at magazines such as XXL, Hip
Hop DX and also Rap up. These are all very successful and well known magazines within this industry. Meaninf that
I could use these magazines as inspiration for when I produce my magazine. I have also started to create a collage
of hip hop artists which are quite popular at the moment for example polo g and I have also used other well known
stars of the past such as Tupac Shakur. As well as this I also made a collage of existing magazines which I wil use as
influence. I have also looked at what codes and conventions each of these magazines use and what conventions I
will follow and also which ones I will challenge for example I will make sure that I use a dominant image of a well
know artist which will make the magazine stand out more to the audience because they will recognize the star who
has been used in the image. I will also use a short and snappy masthead which will attract the audience I will also
make sure that the mast head is rather short to make it appeal to the target audience more.
8. Legal and ethical issues
The legal/ethical issues with my magazine would be if any of the secondary content I source is
copyrighted material. If this is the case, the owner of this property has a right to take legal action which
can be anything from getting the magazine took down or threatening to sue.
To avoid this, if I decide to use any secondary material from copyrighted sources I will make sure to ask for
permission before including it in my magazine.
9. Name Ideas
Encore
$
Target audience:
The target audience of my magazine will be males and female and will be directed towards a teenage
audience as the main audience of hip hop is teenagers and adults
Photography
The front cover of the magazine will be an image of somebody looking directly into the camera this will take
up the majority of he page allowing text to overlap the image this will be shot in high key lighting to create
a brighter picture the name of the artist will also be wrote underneath the dominant image
Double page spread
For my double page spread I will use images of others which will be other stars whose names will be
featured on front cover. These images will be shot in high key lighting and will feature the artist looking
directly into the camera.
The purpose of this hip hop magazine is promote artists to a wider audience and let hip hop enthusiasts
know about some of the upcoming talent.
11. Digital or print
For my magazine I will be using digital over print because digital magazines
have a wider target audience now as you can access them anywhere where
as print magazines you cant you can also get digital magazines online where
as print requires you to go to a store to buy them. A lot of people also prefer
to read digital magazines over print.
13. Primary Research
I have selected a number of different photos which I have
took for my magazine primary research some I have
chosen these images because it suits the style of
magazine that I am creating. The reason I chose my main
image is because it shows the subject looking towards the
camera with his middle finger up which is something
which is often used in the hip hop industry. The image
also shows the subject with a “NWA” hat on which is a
group which is well known with in the hip hop industry
14. Secondary Content
The secondary content which I have used is a font which I had downloaded from the website www.Dafont.com the
reason why I chose to download this font was because I felt that it stood out from other fonts which you usually see
used in magazines of this genre. I also used an image of the rapper Juice wrld on my double page spread which I had
found in an article on the website https://www.xxlmag.com the reason I chose this image was again because I felt it
stood out from other images of him and also because it was used in the article talking about his death.
15. Draft
This is my first attempt at making my magazine.
The mistakes which I had identified was my positioning of my text as I
had placed them in positions where it wouldn’t stand out to the
audience I also realized that is would stick to one colour for my text as It
would look untidy if I used a range of different colours
