2. • Project on concrete technology, Achieving high strength concrete by replacing conventional aggregates
with recycled aggregates (March 2013).
Attempt is made to assess the suitability of Recycled Aggregate as an alternative material to
natural coarse aggregate for use in high strength concrete, and to compare the various
mechanical properties of Recycled Aggregate with control concrete made of Natural aggregates.
It is also aimed to study the use of fly ash and silica fume as partial replacement of cement in
Recycled Aggregate Concrete to improve mechanical properties, achieve economy, durability
and sustainability. The study has been undertaken in view of the requirement of the high
strength concrete and to use the sustainable materials such as Recycled Aggregate, Fly ash and
Silica fume.M80 grade of high strength concrete adopted in investigation and with variable
parameters of study.
