Licensing and fear go hand-in-hand for IT pros. Managing individual licenses in a business is not optimal and can absorb valuable time and resources. Left in the hands of end users, administration and security are lost and opens the door for potential hackers or data breaches. This session will show you how to take control of Parallels software to the next level with centralized visibility and management of user licenses, restriction and lock down features as well as addressing FileVault requirements. Furthermore, find out how to benefit from a single console for managing Macs and learn how other businesses are utilizing Parallels to support their growing numbers of Macs.

The "One Monitor": Tranform MS SCOM into an End-to-End Monitoring & Diagnosis...eG Innovations
Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) is a leading monitoring platform for Microsoft applications. However, SCOM is limited in its support for non-Microsoft systems and applications (e.g., Citrix, SAP, Siebel, VMware, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, Java, etc.).
To extend SCOM for heterogeneous environments, multiple management packs are often deployed - one for each non-Microsoft platform. But the lack of integration between management packs leads to long problem identification and diagnosis cycles, resulting in poor user experience and loss in productivity.
This is where eG Enterprise Microsoft SCOM Universal Management Pack comes in. View this presentation to see how to escape siloed monitoring and leverage your SCOM environment to gain real-time insight into every factor that affects your end users’ experience, across your entire infrastructure.

How to Get the Fastest Possible Citrix Logon Times?eG Innovations
Logon is a user's first interaction with the Citrix digital workspace service, and hence, a slow logon can influence a user's opinion of the service in a way that no other metric can. Therefore, logon time is the #1 key performance indicator (KPI) in Citrix environments.
Slow logons have an impact not just on user perception, but also on productivity. When each logon takes minutes — maybe on multiple systems — it results in lost work time and costs the business. So, it is imperative that logons be as quick and non-intrusive as possible. But how can we make this happen?
Learn some of the best practices for Citrix Logon time optimization.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Now let’s talk about managing those Macs. This past Spring, we attended the TechEd 2014 conference in Houston. We met over 500 IT pros and talked to them about Mac management. What’s even more exciting, Parallels Mac Management for Microsoft SCCM won the Best of TechEd award in the management systems category. POLL: of those of you allowing Macs today, how many of you are managing Macs?
In our survey, we asked how many organizations are currently using a centralized management system for the Macs in their environment. An alarming 82% said “no”. So think about this for a moment. Whether there are 50 Macs or 500, that represents fairly high security risk to any organization. As Microsoft System Center users, the ability to manage Macs the same way you do PCs will be the key to helping you get a handle on the Macs in your network. In fact, over 60% of those we surveyed were at least moderately interesting in the ability to manage both PCs and Macs using one centralized system.
Recently we ran a survey, asking how many organizations are currently using a centralized management system for the Macs in their environment. An alarming 82% said “no”. So think about this for a moment.
Traditionally there have been two approaches to management of PCs and Macs in enterprises. Describe those two traditional approaches
About four years ago Parallels decided that something has to be done about this problem. For the reasons I mentioned on the previous slide, we didn’t want to implement a stand-alone management system. According to Microsoft, SCCM is used in approx. 70% of mid and large enterprises. And after doing our own market research, we decided to create a Mac management plug-in for SCCM. And that is how Parallels Mac Management was born. With Parallels Mac Management plug-in our goal is to allow organizations to maximize investments that they already made into SCCM deployments and to allow them to use SCCM as the single pane of glass. Parallels Mac Management plug-in extends SCCM’s rich centralized management capabilities to Macs and allows IT administrators to: go through the list
This slide is very popular among people who hear about Parallels Mac Management for the first time. We often hear this question: “what are the differences between Parallels Mac Management and SCCM’s native Mac management capabilities’. Some of you probably know that starting with SCCM 2012 SP1 Microsoft implemented some basic Mac management capabilities. For Microsoft Mac management is really a checkbox feature, they are not interested in promoting and supporting Macs. So we created two slides to showcase differences between Parallels Mac Management and the native Mac management in SCCM. As you can see, there are lots of red dots in the Parallels column, and not that many dots in the SCCM column.
And continuing to the second slide, same story Parallels Mac Management is clearly offers a lot more Mac management capabilities comparing to the Microsoft’s implementation.
I want to highlight the last item: Parallels Mac Management works without PKI infrastructure. One of the most common complains about Microsoft’s Mac management implementation is that it requires PKI infrastructure in order to be able to manage Macs. In case of Parallels Mac Management we support both: HTTP-only mode and HTTPS / PKI SCCM
And just to be clear, we are actually on very good terms with Microsoft SCCM development team. The Microsoft team is aware about Parallels Mac Management plug-in and they actually recommend Parallels Mac Management to their customers.
Fig: Sample deployment diagram in multi-site SCCM environment
Let’s get technical for a moment. Under the heed, Parallels Mac Management consists of three core components:
Parallels Proxy – this is a Windows service that acts as proxy between SCCM and managed Macs.
Parallels Mac client – it enables communication between the Mac, the Proxy service and SCCM infrastructure. Note, we do not use native SCCM Mac client we have our own.
And last component is SCCM Admin Console Extensions – the extensions add UI to the Admin Console that enables Mac management.
As I said previously, Parallels Mac Management integrates with existing SCCM infrastructure and doesn’t require you to deploy any new servers. In most of the cases you will be installing Proxy on a server that already hosts one or several SCCM components. And, of course, the Admin Console Extensions must be installed on a computer the has SCCM Admin Console installed.
