This lesson plan aims to teach students how to analyze literary texts by highlighting elements such as theme, style, and inference. Students will listen to and discuss the song "Don't Cry Joni" to practice analysis. They will analyze the vocals, lyrics, instrumentation, message, and values contained in the lyrics. Finally, students will write an analysis of the song highlighting theme, style, inference, and personalization.
