Second Grade Resources Lesson Plan<br />By <br />Thajuana Pugh<br />Summary<br />This lesson is to teach second students how to use the newspaper.  As the internet is becoming easier to get to every day many students don’t know how to use low tech items for information.  This lesson will introduce students to using the newspaper to find information.<br />Learner Analysis<br />The target audience for this lesson is students in the second grade.  The students are between the ages of seven and eight years old.   There are three second grade classes for a total of 65 students.  All of the students have some reading ability with the lower reading level being first grade to the highest level of third grade.  There are no students that classify as special education students.  All of the students are able to sit and watch a movie for several minutes.<br />Stage 1 – Desired ResultsContent Standards:1.1.4  Find, evaluate and select appropriate sources to answer questions.1.1.6  Read, view, and listen for information presented in any format in order to make inferences and gathering meaning. ELA2R4f. Distinguishes fact from fiction. ELA2W1t. Uses a variety of resources to research and share information on a topic.
