Lyocell, also known as Tencel, is a man-made cellulose fiber derived from wood pulp through solvent spinning. It is produced by dissolving pulp in an amine oxide solvent and extruding it through spinnerets to form fibers. Lyocell fibers have high strength, absorbency, and softness compared to cotton. The global lyocell fiber market is expected to grow due to increasing demand for sustainable fabrics and its use in apparel, home goods, and medical applications. Major producers include Lenzing AG and manufacturers are exploring expanding production capacity.
