The document presents a novel approach to reduce average spectrum distortion in pitch alteration techniques for speech synthesis, utilizing a Gaussian method to address energy unbalance caused by the conventional pitch synchronous overlap and add (PSOLA) method. By applying a Gaussian filter, the proposed method demonstrates improved performance with a 2% reduction in spectrum distortion compared to the traditional approach. The research highlights the significance of accurate pitch synchronization and its applications in speech synthesis for assistive technologies.
