LX Locomotives
LX Locomotive - Types
The LX locomotive can be in different styles of powertrain and
power supply.
• LX–H = Hydrostatic with low/high gear in both directions.
• LX–G = Gearbox with 2 or 3 gears in both directions.
LX Locomotive - Types
The weight is adjustable and in three models of locomotives
1. LX - H & G 10-20 ton 2. LX - H & G 20-35 ton.
3. LX - H 30-45 ton.

Smaller locomotives are available
1. LX – H 4 – 8 ton
2. LX – H 8 – 12 ton
3. LX – H, G 10 – 20 ton ( above )
4. LX – H 20 – 35 ton ( W 1200mm )
Tailor-made on request
Adjustable weight
Each ballast have lifting device for easy handling.
To adjust the weight of the loco for
future coming projects the ballast
can easily be removed or added.
The ballast can be supplied by MH
or by the end user out from supplied
drawings from MH.

Under emergency bottom the manometers are, reservoir air, brake
pressure and waggon brake pressure ( if so ).

outlets for two options of
ventilation system,
• Fan with heating

Tandem and Waggon brake connection
The locomotive is
prepared with
connections for two
locomotives in tandem
and if waggon brakes is
needed.
The outlet can also be
used for pneumatic tool.
Extra Operating Panel
Option: for eg. personnel car.
The extra operating box is connected by cable
and complete with all functions, data display,
monitor for camera, emergency stop, key for
master/slave mode and joy-stick. All well
connected inside electric cabinet.

High Lights – “plug and play” Powertrain
The two types of transmission are specially designed to be changeable. To change from
gearbox to hydrostat or opposite can be done without change any location of engine, axle
gear or cardan shaft, just take out the transmission in use and change to the new one.

The heavy duty axle gear is the same for all gauge sizes, no change in steel design/chassis
of the loco.

High Lights - Brake system
When gauge is change the same brake system can be used. The system is changeable to fit all
gauges, no change in steel design/chassis of the loco.

- Powder system = Time consuming and with aggressive
remnants affecting electronics and contacts
Shipping
The LX locomotive up to 25 ton fits in a
40” container. In the container the loco
stands on track for easy unloading.
4 lifting points incl. a set lifting hooks if
crane works is needed.

  • 5. Adjustable weight Each ballast have lifting device for easy handling. To adjust the weight of the loco for future coming projects the ballast can easily be removed or added.   • 8. Cabin Welded steel construction. Open type with window in front driving position. Ergonomically designed and adjustable driver seat with smaller extra seat beside. Steel bar/chain at opening. Option: • Fully closed with door. • Fan with heating. • AC ventilation.
  • 9. Cabin Location of each equipment is well thought out to have the most practical way of reach and operation of the loco. Camera and monitor is standard in cabin. Option: Light/camera box for rolling stock by cable. (by radio transmission power supply on behalf of the customer )

Joystick with, speed/brake control and buttons controlling , FNR, high/low gear, parking brake, sanding device, dead man device and horn.   • 18. Tandem and Waggon brake connection The locomotive is prepared with connections for two locomotives in tandem and if waggon brakes is needed. The outlet can also be used for pneumatic tool.
  • 19. Extra Operating Panel Option: for eg. personnel car. The extra operating box is connected by cable and complete with all functions, data display, monitor for camera, emergency stop, key for master/slave mode and joy-stick. All well connected inside electric cabinet. Fixing points.

  • 24. High Lights – “plug and play” Powertrain The two types of transmission are specially designed to be changeable. To change from gearbox to hydrostat or opposite can be done without change any location of engine, axle gear or cardan shaft, just take out the transmission in use and change to the new one.   • 26. Axle gear Axle gear Solid main carrying shaft with centre mounted conical bevel gear carried in spherical roller bearings in wheel boxes. The suspension between chassis and axle gears in service free rubber elements of Chevron type mounted on wheel shaft bearing boxes.

  • 31. Shipping The LX locomotive up to 25 ton fits in a 40” container. In the container the loco stands on track for easy unloading. 4 lifting points incl. a set lifting hooks if crane works is needed.
