LOCATION
SCOUTING
By Charlie and Harry
A GIRL’S BEDROOM
 This is the first location shown within our film trailer
 In this scene it will show our female characters getting ready to go out later
that night
 Strengths:
- This is a good choice of location to begin the film trailer with, because our
genre is Romantic Comedy. Those films are usually mainly from the view of
the female character so by starting it in a female’s bedroom is can help
convey that convention to our audience
 Potential problems:
- One problem that may occur with this location is that it may be difficult to film
the characters getting ready in such a confined space
A BOY’S BEDROOM
 This will be the second location of our film trailer, cutting to this after the girl’s
bedroom
 This location will show the male characters also getting ready to go out that
night
 Strengths:
- A strength of filming in this location is the low cost of production which helps us
to create the perfect scene because we can take time in filming and we can
take multiple scenes
 Potential problems:
- One problem with filming in this location is that it may be difficult to get the right
lighting and it to loose any noise surrounding the location
MARCH TOWN CENTRE – BROAD STREET
 This will be the location following on from the bedrooms
 It will show the characters ready and walking down this street while
laughing, both the groups will be separated but walking to the same
destination
 Strengths:
- This is a good location because it will be busy which can them help us in the
production because we can make it focused on only the characters, also
because it helps to show the location of where the characters live
 Potential problems:
- One problem with this location is that it could be difficult to film because we
need to track both the groups and make sure they’re both separate but it’s in
the location
CLUB-TYPE SETTING / YPM MARCH (POSSIBLY)
 This will be where the characters turn up after they are seen walking
through the town centre. In this scene both the groups will meet each
other, the scene will particularly focus on Jack, the main male character
and Lydia, the main female character meeting each other
 This scene will again occur later in the trailer for the stag party/hen party
but we will try and make it look a little different to the first scene it occurs
in
 Strengths:
- A strength of this location is that they have lights, a dance floor and DJ
station so because we cannot actually film in an actual club this will be
good to help us get as close as possible
 Potential problems:
- A problem that occur with this is that it may not work as well as we hope
and we will not end up looking like a club or we may not be able to get as
many background characters needed to make it look as busy as a club
setting usually is
A COFFEE SHOP – MARCH TOWN CENTRE
 This scene will show Lydia and Jack on their first date
 The coffee shop will also be in the next scene when it shows a few
pictures of the several dates they go on
 Strengths:
- This is a good location for their date because usually a coffee shop
appears in a Romantic story and also it is helpful because there are
lots of them in March so we can maybe film the scene in multiple and
choose which one is best
 Potential problems:
- A problem that might happen with filming here is that it may be difficult
to film in a busy place like this because of the people around and
how busy it may be
WESTEND PARK, MARCH – A PARK BENCH
 This scene will appear a few days after all of Jack and Lydia’s dates
 Jadyn and Jack are speaking on a park bench in the park
 Strengths:
- This location is good because it should be easy to film considering
there are loads of benches in the park and there is also attractive
scenery surrounding the bench
 Potential problems:
- One problem that may come up in the production of this is that it may
take a while to get the right weather and to get the characters both
here
A HOUSE / DINING ROOM
 This scene will be when Jack proposes to Lydia after their dinner at
Jack’s house
 Strengths:
- A strength of this is that because it is somebody’s house it should be
easy to film and again it will help us because of the low cost to film
here
 Potential problem:
- One problem that may appear with this location for this scene is that it
may be difficult to get the right camera angles and make it look
effective enough
HOTEL-LIKE ROOM
 This is the last location of our film trailer, ending in a hotel room with
the main character Lydia and her bridesmaid Connie
 Strengths:
- A strength of this location is once in the room you don’t really need to
change anything to do able to doing the filming of the scene, plus all
we really need within the scene apart from the characters is the bed
 Potential problems:
- A problem with this location is that we cannot film in an actual hotel
room so will have to compromise and try to make another as like a
hotel as we possibly can
