We selectedaparkinthe townof Caddingtontofilmone of our scenes.Ifeltthatthiswouldbe an
effectivechoice asparkscan oftenbe portrayedas eerie whenlonesome.Therefore itwouldbe
ideal if we couldvisitthe parkwhenitisabandoned,perhapsinthe eveningwhenitbeginstogrow
dark to incite thatsinisteratmosphere thatisconventional of horror;turninga usuallypleasant
locationintoanempty,coldspace where the protagonistisincreasinglyvulnerable.We will ensure
that there nootherpeople if possible inthe shotssothe shotsremainfocuseduponourprotagonist
and howshe is feeling. We intendtohave ascene where the protagonistissittingonthe swing,
alone inthe park, whenshe notices amysteriousfigureunderthe lightof the lamp.She believesshe
isbeingstalked, andpanics.Thisissomethingprovokedbyherdeterioratingmentalstate. Afterthis
she fleasthe parkand tripsand stumblesonthe grassarea near the path,causingan injuryonher
arm whichwe will be enhancingthroughthe use of makeup.

In termsof suitabilitywe findthe areato be highlyfavourable;forseveral reasonsincludingthatitis
rather spaciousallowingfornatural lightingtoshine.Howeveraswe intendtothe filmthe scene in
the evening;artificial lightingmaybe necessary.We selectedthisparkdue tothe most ideal lighting;
withtwolampposts stationedateachendof the park.These will be effective whenexecutingour
desiredscenes.Noticeably;duringlate afternoonlarge shadowsare caston the park from
overhangingscenery;howeverthisshouldn’tbe anissue aswe are filmingwhenitbeginstogrow
dark.
Soundsinclude the natural ambienceof birdschirpingwhichmakesforrealisticbackgroundnoise.
Occasionallythe passingof planes,andsoundsof carsparkinghoweverwe don’tbelieve thisissue
will affectus.One troublesome noise maybe the chatterof childreninthe park,howeveraswe are
filminginthe eveningwe don’tbelieve the parkwill have anyvisitors.

We couldpossiblyinconvenience the publicwithourpresence;butwe hope forthere tono or
minimal disturbances.Aswe are filmingwhenitgrowsdark;trippingcouldperhapsbe ahazard but
we will avoidthisbybe careful,andwill have torchlightstoilluminate ourway.
Due to thislocation’sspaciousarea,range of park equipment,sufficientlightingandlow risk
environmentwe believe ittobe the most suitable contenderoutof the parksconsideredinthe
locationideasandtherefore have selecteditasthe one we shall use whilstfilming.

Location 2: Caddingtonvillage- streets
Several sceneswill featuresCaddingtonvillagestreetsincludingherdiscoveringmessagesafter
partingwithJess,leavingherhouse totravel tothe park and whenshe attemptstoescape the evil
that followsher;andunfortunatelytripsonthe pavementinjuringherarm.
Qualitative assessmentof lighting,level ofnoise,potential hazardsand overall suitability:
In scenesduringthe daytime natural lightingwill be sufficient andgive ourpiece araw and realistic
style.Atdark streetlampsare effective incastingshadowswhichmatchthe style of ourpiece very
well. The contrastbetweenlightanddark(a technique namedchiascuro)withinourproductionisan
appropriate motif forpurityandevil;whichblendinourfilm.
Due to havingchosenthe locationof Caddingtonwhichisagenerallyquietandpeaceful area;noise
level shouldn’tbe aproblem;aside occasionalpassingcarsandperhapsof residentshoweverwe
believewe canavoidthisandexecute the desiredshotswithease.
It isa potential thatwe couldgetinthe way of citizens;orupsetresidentsnearby,howeverwhen
filmingwe willbe cautiousandrespectfulof those aroundus.If we were toinclude ahouse or car
numberplate we couldbe invadingprivacysowe will avoiddoingthis.Throughourselectionof
streetsthatare solitary,withawall as the backdropwe can avoidinvadingthe homesof anycitizens
therefore allowingfora betterexperience withfilmingaswe are not takinganyrisks.

Overall Ifindthislocationtobe ideal asCaddingtonvillage isthe mostpeaceful whichshouldallow
us to conductshootingwithminimal problems. Additionallytheseparticularstreetshave asuitable
layoutforshootingourscenesandI don’t believe we will encounteranyproblems.

Location 3: Caddingtonvillage- alleyway
Qualitative assessmentof lighting,level ofnoise,potential hazardsand overall suitability:
Natural lighting(fromabove asthe space isopen) allowsforsufficientvision (inthe evening)aswell
as the potential of creatingshadowstoenhance the eerinessof ourshotsdue to the streetlightat
the entrance of the alley.Lowlevelsof lightingcouldresultinlow qualityfootagebutdue tothe
presence of the lampitshouldbe okay.
Managing equipmentinthe dark,chance of tripping.The alleywayisratherenclosedandoutof
publicviewwhichcouldbe ariskif a threatispresent.Ourfilmingcouldinconvenience the publicas
we wouldbe blockingthe walkway;andwouldhave tomove toletpeople throughwhichwould
interruptfilming,howeveraswe are filminginthe eveningthereshouldn’tbe manypeoplewanting
to pass through.
Some potential disturbanceswiththislocationhoweveritwouldmake forsome excellentshotsthat
are appropriate forourgenre of horrorand couldincite fearintothe audience. We will be
requestingpermissionforthisarea(asit isconnectedtothe park area) and so isa relativelysafe
perimeter.

manypeople out.

Location 4: Kira’shouse (Luton) – bedroomandoutside of house
Here we will film Eve inherbedroomwithananxiousdemeanour,onthe phone to friendJessin
whichtheyexchange afewlinesof dialogueandthenshe hangsuphurriedlyandleavesherhouse
to headto the park for some time alone.
Qualitative assessmentof lighting,level ofnoise,potential hazardsand overall suitability:
Accessto artificial lights (the lightof herroom, andthe lightsoutside the house) givearealisticfeel
as the shotswill be filmedinthe evening. Thiswill allow forwell illuminatedshotsof satisfying
qualitywhichwill contribute well toourproduction.
Backgroundnoise levelsare minimal hereasthe residentsof the house are usuallyatworkor
downstairsandcannotbe heardwell enoughtopose anythreatstothe soundqualityof the
footage. Ourdecisiontofilminthe eveningisbothconventional andsuitableforourgenre as
horror, as well asbeneficial intermsof the low chance of disturbances.
Possible hazardsinclude steppingonhouseholditems,orperhapsaccidentallydroppingcamera
whenclimbingthe stairs.Toavoidthese occurringwe will ensurethatthe crew take care of
themselvesandfilmingequipment.
Overall thislocationisalsoof highsuitabilityforusandour production.The mise enscene of the
room isappropriate;andthat of a typical teenage girl.The areawhichisreasonablyquietmeanswe
can focusupon executingshotsof highquality.Itisalsofairlyspaciousandsowe can arrange the
camera andtripodto meetour needs.The onlyhindrance isthe 30-50 minute drive fromAbi’shouse
to gethere,howeverteammemberGrace has kindlyofferedtodrive usthere andback,and so we
shouldbe able toget there,andfilmsuccessfullyasplannedthankstothe willingnessof helpers.
