Windows Server Infrastructure Upgrade and Redesign at ELearning Overview ELearning is an educational software developer that provides software and cloud computing solutions to private and public educational institutions throughout North America and Europe. DNS is hosted on an older generation UNIX server that has been hacked several times due to faulty security. Remote users currently connect via VPN, which has caused numerous security incidents due to missing antivirus software, outdated AV signatures and missing OS patches on workstations and laptops. Although the Austin location has not officially opened, there are six users currently deployed to that location. There are currently no domain controllers or qualified personal to support them at this location. This site needs to be incorporated into the ELearning Active Directory as soon as possible. Austin users must be able to authenticate and access ELearning Active Directory services. ELearning has recently acquired another company EduTech, Inc. The existing EduTech Active Directory Domain needs to be integrated into the existing ELearning Active Directory forest. The ELearning data center is located at the Vienna and Dublin locations. This is where ELearning hosts and maintains its cloud computing services. The open source HPCC (High-Performance Computing Cluster) Systems platform offers a unified approach to Big Data processing requirements: (1) a scalable, integrated computer systems hardware and software architecture designed for parallel processing of data-intensive computing applications, and (2) a new programming paradigm in the form of a high-level, declarative, data-centric programming language designed specifically for big data processing. This presentation explores the challenges of data-intensive computing from a programming perspective, and describes the ECL programming language and the HPCC architecture designed for data-intensive computing applications. Develop a Java application to calculate the monthly paychecks for a number of different types of employees. The employee types are created in a subclass array based on parent base class Employee. Initial code is provided for each class and for a driver class. You will need to compile each Java source file (provided below) separately, in its own file since they are public classes, to create a .class file for each, ideally keeping them all in the same directory. You should first compile and execute the original classes and then make your customer modifications for this program. You should compile Date.java first, then Employee.java, then CommissionEmployee.java, then BasePlusCommission.java, then HourlyEmployee.java, then SalariedEmployee.java, and finally PayrollSystemTest.java. And maintain this compilation order when you make your customized modifications to these classes later. As part of the modifications you need to make to the supplied code, you are to prompt the user for all the data that is now provided in the code for the class PayrollSystemTest (i.e. instead of using these values from their declaration in the code, get data from prompting the user for it, one value at a time). All program output, including prompts and results and all program input must be done from the PayrollSystemTest class. In addition you need to add a new private instance field \"birthDate\" to the Employee class. The “birthDate” field must be a Date data type, not a String! Add get and set methods to Employee class for this new birthDate field. The birthDate field must be determined from separate integer values, supplied by the user, for the birth month, day, and year. As with all other inputs, these three birth date components must be prompted from and input to class PayrollSystemTest. The single birthDate field of a Date data type must be declared and initialized in the Employee class. In a loop, calculate the monthly paycheck amount for each Employee (polymorphically), and add a $100.00 bonus to the person\'s monthly payroll amount if the current month (i.e. November) is the month in which the Employee\'s birthday occurs. Subaru, which is a niche player in the global auto industry, has long bucked the trend among its Japanese rivals of establishing significant manufacturing facilities in the North American market. Subaru still makes 80 percent of its vehicles at home, compared with 21 percent for Honda. Back in 2012, this strategy was viewed as something of a liability. In those days, one U.S. dollar bought only 80 Japanese yen. The strong yen meant that Subaru cars were being priced out of the U.S. market. Japanese companies like Honda and Toyota, which had substantial production in the United States, gained business at Subaru's expense. But from 2012 onward, with Japan mired in recession and consumer prices falling, the country's central bank repeatedly cut interest rates in an attempt to stimulate the economy. As interest rates fell in Japan, investors moved money out of the country, selling yen and buying the U.S. dollar. They used those dollars to invest in U.S. stocks and bonds where they anticipated a greater return. As a consequence, the price of yen in terms of dollars fell. By December 2015, one dollar bought 120 yen, representing a 50 percent fall in the value of the yen against the U.S. dollar since 2012. For Subaru, the depreciation in the value of the yen has given it a pricing advantage and driven a sales boom. Demand for Subaru cars in the United States has been so strong that the automaker has been struggling to keep up. The profits of Subaru's parent company, Fuji Heavy Industries, have surged. In February 2015, Fuji announced that it would earn record operating profits of around ¥410 billion ($3.5 billion) for the financial year ending March 2015. Subaru's profit margin has increased to 14.4 percent, compared with 5.6 percent for Honda, a company that is heavily dependent on U.S. production. Protecting one’s Constitutional rights depends on what the politician’s plans on policies and procedures that could begin to take away those civil rights that were granted and give people the sense of freedom that the nation is built on. Policies and procedures can change everything take the mask wearing and social distancing for Covid-19, you have the people that are okay with it all and are following the rules but then you have the ones that have been protesting or fighting people over the fact that they don’t want to wear a mask. To me personally it’s simple to wear a mask but to others it’s a reason of rights being taken away by mandating it. Working for the military and DHS I personally don’t see freedom and security as a tradeoff. The explanations connect examples with general programming knowledge explaining the role and function of code fragments or their behavior. In textbooks, these explanations are usually presented as comments in the code or as explanations on the margins. The example explorer tools allow students to examine these explanations interactively. Tutoring systems, which engage students in explaining the code, use these model explanations to check student responses and provide scaffolding. In all these cases, to make a worked example re-usable beyond its presentation in a lecture, the explanations have to be authored by instructors or domain experts i.e., produced and integrated into a specific system. As the experience of the last 10 years demonstrated, these explanations are hard to obtain. Those already collected are usually “locked” in a specific example-focused system and can’t be reused. The purpose of this working group is to support broader re-used of worked examples augmented with explanations. Our current plan is to develop а standard approach to represent explained examples. This approach will enable an example created for any of the existing systems to be explored in a standard format and imported into any other example-focused system. We plan to follow a successful experience of the PEML working group focused on re-using programming exercises.

1. Linux Proposal Linux Implementation Proposal HACKD, LLC. has a new research and development group – H- R&D. All systems in H-R&D will run the Linux operating system and will access resources, as well as share resources, with HACKD, LLC.’s Microsoft Active Directory domain. The domain consists of several Windows Server 2012 R2 servers running various services (Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, web services, printing and file services). HACKD, LLC. also has around 500 client operating system desktops/laptops that run Windows 7 and Windows XP. There is a mix of desktop and laptop systems. Current Desktop/Laptop Configuration for Windows 7: Processor: Intel Core i3 Second Generation Memory: 4GB RAM Hard Drive: 350GB Network Card: 10/100/1000 Mbps USB Ports: 4 USB 2.0 Monitor: 20inch LCD Current Desktop/Laptop Configuration for Windows XP: Processor: Intel Core 2 Memory: 2GB RAM Hard Drive: 80GB Network Card: 10/100 Mbps USB Ports: 4 USB 2.0 Monitor: 15inch LCD Your boss wants you to come up with a proposal to replace all Windows XP systems with Linux. You will implement using the Red Hat Enterprise Linux variant (or another variant if you can

Requirements The final submission should contain at least 5 to 7 pages’ worth of text written by the student (not counting title page, images, diagrams, tables, or quotations that may be used), but may be longer, not to exceed approximately 7 pages’ worth of student- supplied text. It must be double-spaced, have 1-inch margins, and use 12-point Times New Roman or 10-point Arial/Helvetica font. A title page is required. You must turn this assignment to both the assignment area within our LEO classroom as well as to the TurnItIn website. Failure to do so may result in point deductions. Follow the TurnItIn instructions provided within the class. You must address the following in your proposal and may make any assumptions which are not specified: Research and justify whether CWE will use existing computer hardware that is being used with the Windows XP systems, or if new hardware will be required. [Optional: make recommendations for hardware improvements for performance] Plan for migration from Windows XP to Linux. Include level-of-effort estimate for the project. Determine the hardware to be used and the installation options. How will users log onto the systems? Explain. How will systems receive IP addresses? Explain. How will DNS be accessed by the CWE systems? Explain. Explain how files on the network may be accessed by CWE. Explain how CWE can securely share files within their group and other selected groups/users in the company. How will printing be handled? Explain. What, if any, data will be encrypted? Explain.
