Mkdir  -  Create new folder
cd  -  Change Directory
Cd -  -  Go to home directory
Cd  -  Go to previous directory
ls  -  List information about file
Ls -a  -  show all hidden files
Cat> filename  -  To create a  file
Cat filename  -  to view the content of the file.
date – To view the date.
Cal  -  Displays a calendar
echo  -  Display message on screen
cat>> filename  -  Appends the data
Cat  file1.txt  file2.txt  -  Displays data of both the files.
Cat  file1.txt  file2.txt  -  Concatenate two files
Alias  -  Create an alias
who  -  Print all usernames currently logged in
Help  -  Display help for a built-in   command
Pwd  -  Prints Working Directory
Head filename  -  Output the first part of file
tail  filename  -  Output the last part of files
Command  -  Run a command - ignoring shell functions
egrep  -  Search file for lines that match an extended expression
fgrep  -  Search file for lines  that match a fixed string
History  -  displays History
History -a  -  Append the new history  lines to the history file
Id  -  Print user and group id's
