MICROLIT LILPETS
& Rapid Testing Kits
Using Pipettes
• When scientists need to precisely deliver smaller
volumes of a reagent, they use a pipette – a
calibrated glass tube into which the reagent is
drawn, held and then transferred.
• Pipettes have been the mainstays of biotech and
life sciences labs for decades. They are used for
displacing minute quantities of liquid and can be
relied upon to dispense volumes down to 0.1 ml.
What are Micropipettes?
• Often, scientists need to work with much smaller
volumes of reagents, even getting down to 0.1 µl.
For such small volumes, they use a micropipette.
• Almost all micropipettes operate on the same
principle: a plunger is to be pressed by the thumb
and when released, the reagent gets drawn into a
disposable plastic tip. When the plunger is
pressed again, the liquid is dispensed.
Working with Tips
• The tip is an important part of a micropipette and
allows it to conveniently work with different samples
without washing (as long as we can change the tip
during sample collection).
• Tips are available in different sizes, depending on
the micropipette they are to be used with, and the
volume they need to dispense.
What are Rapid Testing Kits?
• The Diagnostic Kits Manufacturing Industry is
growing at a tremendous rate in order to satisfy the
ever-increasing need to analyze, determine or detect
diseases in living organisms and/or measure the
concentration of contaminants in consumer edibles.
• These kits detects the contamination of Milk Samples
by Beta-Lactam and Tetracycline molecules.
• In addition, Diagnostic Kits are also used as HbA1C
Test Kits for diabetes detection.
Microlit Lilpets and the Diagnostic Kits
• The analysis of the diseases in living organisms and the measure of
concentration of contaminants in consumer edibles requires precise
sampling and smooth transfer of the samples.
• Microlit’s specially designed range of Miniature Micropipettes: LILPET &
LILPET PRO, helps in performing sensitive operations with acute reliability in
practical laboratory environments.
• These Miniature Micropipettes empower the Diagnostic Kits by offering a
sophisticated blend of mobility and high ease of use.
Introducing MICROLIT LILPETS
Microlit’s miniature micropipette series consists of two models:
I. MICROLIT LILPET: Miniature Fixed Volume micropipette with Two
Step Plunger Action that facilitates reverse pipetting and ensures last
drop dispensing.
II. MICROLIT LILPET PRO: Miniature Fixed Volume micropipette with
Tip Ejector &Two Step Plunger Action. The built-in tip ejector
facilitates safe ejection of used tip after pipetting.
Both Lilpet & Lilpet Pro are available in seven fixed capacities: 5µL, 10µL,
20µL, 25µL, 50µL, 100µL & 200µL
Also, their tip cones (5 μL, 10 μL, 20 μL) are designed to accept both
micro-tips of 200 μL capacity and ultra-micro tips of as low as 20 μL
capacity. The use of the latter significantly enhances accuracy and
precision.
MICROLIT LILPET MICROLIT LILPET PRO
I. MICROLIT LILPET
• Designed by our in-house team of product design engineers,
MICROLIT LILPET is a miniature fixed volume micropipette.
• The two-step plunger operation of this micropipette facilitates ‘super
blow-out’ which allows dispensing of the last drop which generally
gets retained due to surface tension of the tip. This rules out errors
and inaccuracies due to uncertainty of last drop dispensing.
• This micropipette has an optimum length of 130 mm, perfect for
high user comfort during pipetting.
II. MICROLIT LILPET PRO
• MICROLIT LILPET PRO is the world’s first miniature
micropipette with a tip ejector. The built-in tip ejector has
enhanced the application of this micropipette for working with
blood samples and hazardous chemicals.
• Due to its small size of 130 mm, Lilpet Pro comfortably fits in
the hands of the user. The extremely light weight of the
micropipette (12 grams) provides much comfort during long
pipetting hours.
• This micropipette pipette also has two step plunger operation.
Applications
I. MICROLIT LILPETS are used extensively in
schools for research and experiment purposes.
II. They are useful in mobile laboratories for soil
testing and water testing as they enable one to
easily go out and collect samples directly from
the field.
III. They are specially designed for diagnostic kits
commonly known as Rapid Testing Kits.
Global Reach of MICROLIT LILPETS
I. Europe’s biggest based biotech company, and our client, is focused on
improving food safety with screening solutions to detect antibiotics,
mycotoxins, food fraud in dairy, cereal, honey, feed, meat and seafood
industries. It uses MICROLIT LILPETS in its Drug Residue & Contamination
Testing Kits for food diagnostics.
II. A company of Perkin Elmer, uses MICROLIT LILPETS to prepare its Next-
Gen Sequencing Library Prep Kits that includes instruments that screen
antibiotics in milk, blood and other liquids.
