Explanation:
This light is used for general cover because it is part
of the Fresnel family. But because the pebble convex
also has a pebble lens means that I can also use it
to replace a spotlight if I really needed to. You can
also use the gel frames to make different colour light
and the barn doors to isolate the light to where ever
you need to. This light uses a halogen bulb 650W.

Scenarios:
if the source fours and minutte profiles are broken I was choosing a light to isolate
an actor on stage I would use a pc to replace them because they have a pebble
convex lens so they can replace a spot because they have the same lens and are
very similar because other rights have ridged lens so its more diffused. I would not
choose a parcan because it diffuse light to much and would not isolate the actor
and I would choose a pc over a birdie because a birdie is to small and not powerful
enough.

A CCT is also part of the Fresnel family. This means
that it diffuse light and is mainly used for general cover.
You can also use the gels to create different coloured
lights and the barndoors to isolate the light to a specific
area. This light uses a halogen bulb 650W.

Scenarios:
If I was choosing a light for a side light in a dance performance I would choose a
CCT because it diffuse light well and I can also manipulate the light with the
barndoors. I would choose a CCT over a minutte profile because it is too defined
and I would not choose a pin spot because they are used for glitter balls and it is
not powerful enough.

Explanation:
This is purposely used for general cover to light a
whole area but you can use the gels to create
many different colours and you could also use the
barn doors to isolate the light to specific areas that
you would want the light to highlight. This light
uses a halogen bulb 650W.

Scenarios:
If I was choosing a light to create a general wash at a Christmas show I would
choose a selecon because it is good at creating a general wash because it diffuse
the light well. I would choose a selecon over a parcan because it only adds dept to
general cover it isn't strong enough to cover the whole stage. I also would not
choose a source four because it is too defined and wont diffuse the light well.

Explanation:
The scene (1K) diffuse light and can be used for
general cover. You can use the gels to create
many different colours and you could also use the
barn doors to isolate the light to specific areas that
you would want the light to highlight. This light is
also used for a back light, this is when you create
a definition of the actor on stage because it is lit
from behind to make them stand out. The 1K does
not go further than other lights but it is much
brighter. This light uses a 1K halogen bulb.

Scenarios:
If I was choosing a light to use for creating a backlight in a musical I would choose
a 1K because it diffuse light well and create a good general wash and because it is
very bright to create a good definition of the actors. I would choose a 1k over a
birdie because a birdie is not bright enough and I would not choose a minutte
profile either because it is too defined.

Explanation:
You can use the gels to create many different colours.
This light floods the room with light and you would use it
to light up the audience because it has no direction. You
could also use it for crowd surfing at a gigs and lighting
up the cyclorama in a contemporary dance performance.
This light cannot control the size of the light and is
controlled by the lighting desk. This light uses a 500W
halogen linear bulb.

Scenarios:
If I was choosing a light to light a cyclorama I would choose a flood light because it
is good at creating a general wash so the cyclorama would be lit evenly. I would
choose a floodlight over a birdie because a birdie is to small and not powerful
enough and I would not choose a minutte profile because it would be too defined
and not create a general cover.

 Halogen bulbs

Explanation:
You can use the gels to create many different
colours. This light is like a baby parcan so it does
not have barndoors. You can use this to light up
pop up expeditions in art galleries. They use a
small Halogen bulb so they are not as bright as the
other lights. They would also be used in a truss to
look pretty and for aesthetics. They can also be
used to light the audience if need be. This light
uses a 50W halogen bulb spot (GU10 bulb).

Scenarios:
If I was choosing a light to use to light the audience I would choose a birdie
because it is discrete so it would not be very noticeable and its very aesthetic and
look very pretty. I would not choose a selecon because it would create too much of
a general cover and I would choose a birdie over a parcan because it is too big
and would also create too much of a general wash.

Encased light bulb

Explanation:
You can use the gels to create many different
colours. This is a parcan so it does not have
barndoors. You can use this light at music gigs for
the aesthetics because they look pretty and to
create a chase. You could also use it for general
cover because you can only control the general
direction of the light because you cant be specific.
But you could also use a parcan to add further
dept or colour to an already general wash. This
light uses either a Cp60, Cp61 or a Cp62 bulb.

Scenarios:
If I was choosing a light to use at a music gig to create a chase effect I would use a
parcan because it is easy to create a chase with this light and it is aesthetic and
use many different types of gels to make it look much more interesting. I would
choose a PC over a Minuette profile because it would not create a general wash
and it is a specials. I also would not choose a birdie because it only has a 50w
halogen bulb so it would not be bright enough.

DMX cable

Explanation:
You can use the gels to create many different
colours. This light has many different small LED
bulbs inside it and this means it does not get hot. It
has no direction and just creates a general wash.
An L.E.D has the same job as a parcan but you
can change the colour from the lighting desk
instead with a DMX cable from the light to the desk
and this is made with male and female parts.

Scenarios:
If I was choosing a light to use provide multiple colour enabling the scenes mood
to change I would use a L.E.D because it uses a DMX cable so I can change the
colour of the light from the lighting desk so it would be less effort and no fuss on
stage and it is also energy saving and produces primary colours. I would choose a
L.E.D over a floodlight because they use gel frames so it would be much harder to
change the colours with ease. I would also not choose a source four because it is
a special so it would not create a general wash it would be more specific on a

and a minutte profile is that it has an energy saving light bulb whereas the

brighter and whiter light. This light uses a HPL bulb 575W.

If I was choosing a light to use to isolate an actor on stage I would choose a
source four because it is a special and a defined spotlight that will isolate them and
it has an energy saving bulb so it will create a bright white light which will highlight
the actor even more. I would choose a source four over a selecon because that
would create general cover and have no definition of light and I would also not
choose a flood because you can only control the direction and it would not
highlight the actor.

creates much browner light. The differences between this and a source four
is that the source four has a an energy saving light bulb whereas the minutte

Scenarios:
If I was choosing a light to create a window effect for a set design I would choose a
minuette profile because it is defined and specific so I could defiantly only light up
the specific area and I could use the barndoos to help create the correct shape for
the window but mainly because the minuette profile is a special I can use a gobo to
create the patterns and images of the window to be more realistic and believable. I
would not choose a parcan because that gives off general cover so it would not be
specific and I would also not choose a CCT because it is a Fresnel so its is not

Explanation:
This light is used in discos or whenever
you use a glitter ball. You cannot
change the colour but you can change
the bulb for different colours but it is not
as energy efficient. It can be directed
and has a small beam angle. This light
uses a 30W par36 bulb.

Scenarios:
If I was choosing a light to use in the Priestley got talent to use a glitter ball I would
use a pin spot because it has a small beam angle and can be directed I would not
choose a flood or a L.E.D parcan over a pin spot because they both create a
general wash.

  • 2. PC        Accessories: G – clamp Barn doors Gel frames Safety chain Adjustable arm Adjustable knob 15 AMPS Explanation: This light is used for general cover because it is part of the Fresnel family. But because the pebble convex also has a pebble lens means that I can also use it to replace a spotlight if I really needed to. You can also use the gel frames to make different colour light and the barn doors to isolate the light to where ever you need to. This light uses a halogen bulb 650W. Scenarios: if the source fours and minutte profiles are broken I was choosing a light to isolate an actor on stage I would use a pc to replace them because they have a pebble convex lens so they can replace a spot because they have the same lens and are very similar because other rights have ridged lens so its more diffused. I would not choose a parcan because it diffuse light to much and would not isolate the actor and I would choose a pc over a birdie because a birdie is to small and not powerful enough.
  • 3. CCT Accessories:         Explanation: G – clamp Barn doors Gel frames Safety chain Adjustable arm Adjustable knob 15 AMPS Ridge Circular lens A CCT is also part of the Fresnel family. This means that it diffuse light and is mainly used for general cover. You can also use the gels to create different coloured lights and the barndoors to isolate the light to a specific area. This light uses a halogen bulb 650W. Scenarios: If I was choosing a light for a side light in a dance performance I would choose a CCT because it diffuse light well and I can also manipulate the light with the barndoors. I would choose a CCT over a minutte profile because it is too defined and I would not choose a pin spot because they are used for glitter balls and it is not powerful enough.
  • 4. Selecon Accessories        G – clamp Barn doors Gel frames Safety chain Adjustable arm Adjustable knob 15 AMPS Explanation: This is purposely used for general cover to light a whole area but you can use the gels to create many different colours and you could also use the barn doors to isolate the light to specific areas that you would want the light to highlight. This light uses a halogen bulb 650W. Scenarios: If I was choosing a light to create a general wash at a Christmas show I would choose a selecon because it is good at creating a general wash because it diffuse the light well. I would choose a selecon over a parcan because it only adds dept to general cover it isn't strong enough to cover the whole stage. I also would not choose a source four because it is too defined and wont diffuse the light well.
  • 5. Scene 1K Accessories:          G – clamp Gels Barndoors Gel frames Safety chain Adjustable arm Adjustable knob 15 AMPS Ridge circular lens Explanation: The scene (1K) diffuse light and can be used for general cover. You can use the gels to create many different colours and you could also use the barn doors to isolate the light to specific areas that you would want the light to highlight. This light is also used for a back light, this is when you create a definition of the actor on stage because it is lit from behind to make them stand out. The 1K does not go further than other lights but it is much brighter. This light uses a 1K halogen bulb. Scenarios: If I was choosing a light to use for creating a backlight in a musical I would choose a 1K because it diffuse light well and create a good general wash and because it is very bright to create a good definition of the actors. I would choose a 1k over a birdie because a birdie is not bright enough and I would not choose a minutte profile either because it is too defined.

You could also use it for crowd surfing at a gigs and lighting up the cyclorama in a contemporary dance performance. This light cannot control the size of the light and is controlled by the lighting desk. This light uses a 500W halogen linear bulb. Scenarios: If I was choosing a light to light a cyclorama I would choose a flood light because it is good at creating a general wash so the cyclorama would be lit evenly. I would choose a floodlight over a birdie because a birdie is to small and not powerful enough and I would not choose a minutte profile because it would be too defined and not create a general cover.
  • 7. Birdie Accessories  G – clamp  Gels  Gel frames  Safety chain  13/15 AMPS  Halogen bulbs Explanation: You can use the gels to create many different colours. This light is like a baby parcan so it does not have barndoors. You can use this to light up pop up expeditions in art galleries. They use a small Halogen bulb so they are not as bright as the other lights. They would also be used in a truss to look pretty and for aesthetics. They can also be used to light the audience if need be. This light uses a 50W halogen bulb spot (GU10 bulb). Scenarios: If I was choosing a light to use to light the audience I would choose a birdie because it is discrete so it would not be very noticeable and its very aesthetic and look very pretty. I would not choose a selecon because it would create too much of a general cover and I would choose a birdie over a parcan because it is too big and would also create too much of a general wash.
  • 8. Parcan Accessories       G – clamp Gel frames Safety chain Adjustable gels 15 AMPS Encased light bulb Explanation: You can use the gels to create many different colours. This is a parcan so it does not have barndoors. You can use this light at music gigs for the aesthetics because they look pretty and to create a chase. But you could also use a parcan to add further dept or colour to an already general wash. This light uses either a Cp60, Cp61 or a Cp62 bulb. Scenarios: If I was choosing a light to use at a music gig to create a chase effect I would use a parcan because it is easy to create a chase with this light and it is aesthetic and use many different types of gels to make it look much more interesting. I would choose a PC over a Minuette profile because it would not create a general wash and it is a specials. I also would not choose a birdie because it only has a 50w halogen bulb so it would not be bright enough.
  • 9. L.E.D Accessories        G – clamp Gels Gel frames Safety chain Adjustable arm 13/15 AMPS DMX cable Explanation: You can use the gels to create many different colours. This light has many different small LED bulbs inside it and this means it does not get hot. It has no direction and just creates a general wash. An L.E.D has the same job as a parcan but you can change the colour from the lighting desk instead with a DMX cable from the light to the desk and this is made with male and female parts. Scenarios: If I was choosing a light to use provide multiple colour enabling the scenes mood to change I would use a L.E.D because it uses a DMX cable so I can change the colour of the light from the lighting desk so it would be less effort and no fuss on stage and it is also energy saving and produces primary colours. I would choose a L.E.D over a floodlight because they use gel frames so it would be much harder to change the colours with ease. I would also not choose a source four because it is a special so it would not create a general wash it would be more specific on a

The differences between this  gobo and a minutte profile is that it has an energy saving light bulb whereas the minutte profile does not and this makes the source four have a much Scenarios: brighter and whiter light. This light uses a HPL bulb 575W. If I was choosing a light to use to isolate an actor on stage I would choose a source four because it is a special and a defined spotlight that will isolate them and it has an energy saving bulb so it will create a bright white light which will highlight the actor even more. I would choose a source four over a selecon because that would create general cover and have no definition of light and I would also not choose a flood because you can only control the direction and it would not highlight the actor.
  • 11. Minuette Profile Accessories         G – clamp Gels Gel frames Safety chain 15 AMPS Shutters Iris gobo Explanation: You can use the gels to create many different colours. The differences between this and a source four is that the source four has a an energy saving light bulb whereas the minutte profile does not and this makes the source four have a much brighter and whiter light. This light uses a halogen bulb 650W. Scenarios: If I was choosing a light to create a window effect for a set design I would choose a minuette profile because it is defined and specific so I could defiantly only light up the specific area and I could use the barndoos to help create the correct shape for the window but mainly because the minuette profile is a special I can use a gobo to create the patterns and images of the window to be more realistic and believable. I would not choose a parcan because that gives off general cover so it would not be specific and I would also not choose a CCT because it is a Fresnel so its is not
