Shadows in the Tabernacle - the priesthood old and newAlan Williamson
Hebrews 9:8-11 the Holy Spirit this signifying, that the way into the holy place hath not yet been made manifest, while the first tabernacle is yet standing; 9 which is a figure for the time present; according to which are offered both gifts and sacrifices that cannot, as touching the conscience, make the worshipper perfect, 10 being only (with meats and drinks and divers washings) carnal ordinances, imposed until a time of reformation. 11 But Christ having come a high priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,
The New Testament shows us repeatedly that those who were helped by Jesus would tell others about Jesus. This is a pattern that reminds us that this is our purpose also.

The book of Hebrews is the bridge that connects the Old Testament and the New. These covenants are completely different and yet many Christians approach God on the basis of Old Testament Law instead of New Testament faith. The entire book is about Jesus and how He is the guarantee of a new and better covenant. It is essential for every Christian to understand.
In this lesson you will be challenged to preach Christ crucified just as Paul did. The emphasis of our preaching must be Christ and the meaning of his death. This material was borrowed from Jim McGuiggan in his book The Dragon Slayer, chapter 1: The Crux of the Matter. For a much better understanding, I strongly encourage reading this book.
Vision of Jesus as Our High Priest With His Golden Water Basin and Towel of R...Sister Lara
This is a vision that the Holy Spirit gave to me during a time of prayer agreement with a sister in our Lord, I have never seen. I only talked to her over the phone. My prayer life will never be the same, as I saw the beauty of Jesus dressed as our High Priest.
Paul’s work in Corinth, as described by Luke in Acts, portrays his work as being very bold in teaching and opposing the Jews. But to the Corinthians, Paul wrote that he was among them in fear and weakness. He even explains to them his boasting in weakness because of God’s grace with regard to the thorn in the flesh. So it’s not surprising that at one point he tells the Corinthians that he has treasure in jars of clay. He is speaking of himself as a jar of clay and the treasure is the message of Jesus Christ. This lesson encourages us to boast on our weaknesses, like Paul, so that the treasure can be shared with all.

This is a study of Jesus as an asker of Questions. He asked over a hundred questions in the Gospels, and some of them are relevant to us today for a personal response.
3. Purpose
To help us understand that to
receive everlasting life, we must be
“born again” and continue to follow
Jesus Christ.
4.
5. What did Jesus teach Nicodemus that
he must do to enter the kingdom of
God? (See John 3:5.)
How is baptism a symbol of rebirth?
6. Bruce R. McConkie
“Church members are
not born again by the
mere fact of baptism
alone”
“doesn’t happen in an
instant. [It] is a process”
7. a. Believing in Jesus Christ (John 3:16, 18).
b. Experiencing “a mighty change in … our hearts, that we have
no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually” (Mosiah
5:2; see also Alma 5:12–14, 26).
c. Being “changed from [a] carnal and fallen state, to a state of
righteousness” (Mosiah 27:25).
d. Becoming “[God’s] sons and daughters” (Mosiah 5:7; 27:25).
e. Becoming “new creatures” (Mosiah 27:26).
f. Having “the image of God engraven upon [our] countenances”
(Alma 5:19; see also verse 14).
g. Repenting so our “garments [are] purified until they are
cleansed from all stain, through the blood of [Christ]” (Alma 5:21; see
also Alma 5:19, 33–34; 22:18).
8. How can we overcome discouragement
or setbacks in our spiritual progress?
9. What can we do to continue this
process throughout our lives?
12. What changes have you observed in yourself or
someone else during the process of becoming born
again?
Jesus used the concepts of light and darkness to
teach Nicodemus (John 3:19–21).
Why do some choose darkness over light?
How can we maintain the ability to love the light
and shun darkness? What promises has the Lord
made to those who come to the light? (See D&C
50:24; 88:67.)
13.
14. The Jews had “no dealings with the Samaritans” (John 4:9) and
usually avoided Samaria when traveling. Yet Jesus deliberately went
through Samaria. What does this reveal about him?
Who are some “Samaritans” in today’s world?
(any person or group considered inferior.) How should we treat
them?
How did the Samaritan woman make it easier for Jesus to teach her?
(See John 4:9, 11–12, 15, 19, 25.
She was humble, she desired to know more, and she believed his
words.
How did the Samaritan woman change as Jesus spoke to her?
How did Jesus help bring about this change?
He taught her at her level of understanding, he testified of himself,
he used the symbol of water powerfully, and he showed
compassion. How can we follow his example as we teach others?
15. Jesus told the Samaritan woman that he could give her
“living water” (John 4:10).
What do you think “living water” means? (See 1 Nephi
11:25; D&C 63:23.
The doctrines of the gospel, the love of God, and
the Atonement.) How can we obtain living water?
The Samaritan woman had come to the well for water
(John 4:7). However, after she spoke with Jesus, she
left her pitcher at the well and went to tell others about
the experience (John 4:28–29). What can we learn from
her example?
How were other people blessed because of the faith of
the Samaritan woman? (See John 4:39–42.)
