Novice innovators and entrepreneurs face the risk of designing naive
business models. In fact, lack of realism and failing to envision contextual
constraints is one of the main threats to start-up success. Both the literature and
the responses we gathered from experts in incubation confirm this problem.
Capability Driven Development (CDD) is an integrated approach consisting of
a method, tools, and best practices. It has proved to be successful when applied
to mature enterprises that intend to become context-aware and adaptive. In this
paper we report on the application of CDD to two start-up projects and how,
despite being useful in making the entrepreneurs aware of dynamic business
environments and constraints, a trade-off analysis showed that a simpler version
of the method was necessary. Therefore, we present LightCDD, a context-aware
enterprise modelling method that is tailored for business model generation. It
reduces the set of modelling constructs and guidelines to facilitate its adoption
by entrepreneurs, yet keeping it expressive enough for their purposes and, at the
same time, compatible with CDD methodology. We also discuss what
implications this simplification has with regard to the CDD tool environment

The case company is a very successful oil company, currently more profitable than ever. The recently appointed CEO recognized that the situation is probably not sustainable, as there are some changing trends in the market place that may be a threat to the current favorable position. He had another concern, too; the company was one of the most advanced in technology in its field in the world. The CEO soon realized that the company – because of its favorable market situation – was not cultivating this asset efficiently enough. He noticed that the growth rate was not satisfactory. The CEO made a decision to scan for new growth opportunities and apply the Signals toolset, because it minimized the time and resources needed.

Business Models
It is very useful for a new venture to look at itself in a holistic manner and understand that it must construct an effective “business model” to be successful.
Everyone that does business with a firm, from its customers to its partners, does so on a voluntary basis. As a result, a firm must motivate its customers and its partners to play along.
Close attention to each of the primary elements of a firm’s business model is essential for a new venture’s success.

Critical Factors for New Product Developments in SMEs Virtual TeamNader Ale Ebrahim
Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are considered as an engine for economic growth all over the world and especially for developing countries. During the past decade, new product development (NPD) has increasingly been recognized as a critical factor in ensuring the continued survival of SMEs. On the other hand, the rapid rate of market and technological changes has accelerated in the past decade, so this turbulent environment requires new methods and techniques to bring successful new products to the marketplace. Virtual team can be a solution to answer the requested demand. However, literature have shown no significant differences between traditional NPD and virtual NPD in general, whereas NPD in SME’s virtual team has not been systematically investigated in developing countries. This paper aims to bridge this gap by first reviewing the NPD and its relationship with virtuality and then identifies the critical factors of NPD in virtual teams. The statistical method was utilized to perform the required analysis of data from the survey. The results were achieved through factor analysis at the perspective of NPD in some Malaysian and Iranian manufacturing firms (N = 191). The 20 new product development factors were grouped into five higher level constructs. It gives valuable insight and guidelines, which hopefully will help managers of firms in developing countries to consider the main factors in NPD.

Why do we need business models or Mindset behind Business Model ApproachVasily Ryzhonkov
Entrepreneurship is about creating innovative ideas and transforming them into ventures that generate value. Through the years the only way how entrepreneurs documented their ideas and presented to investors was writing business plans. However, it is widely recognized that business plans immediately become obsolete after first meeting with reality. Business plans are also too long to write, they are seldom updated, almost never read by others (even investors for whom they were written). Nowadays everyone in the entrepreneurship world speaks about business model as more important issue than business plan. There are plenty of materials about what is a business model, how to use them; more than 40 different types of business models appeared since 1985 (M. Porter). However, only a few words said about why and when particular model of business model should be used for idea development and venture creation. This article is aimed at disclosure of mindset behind business model approach to entrepreneurship. Second purpose is to define main ways how business models could be applied to entrepreneurship.

Company ReBuilding : Moving into a new dimension of value creation (Compendium)Marc Wagner
About Company Rebuilding: Company what? Another buzzword? What does is mean! Using the analogy of cellular growth, corporate renewal is based on the principle of continual cell division, whereby organizational growth is controlled, organically and inorganically, by platforms that control communication and value creation, thus providing the basis for the creation of new, transformational products.
It is crucial that when creating new units or cells, that clear rules of organizational cooperation (New Work) are established where a common set of values are established and, in particular, rules for the creation of new cells are set. All organically created units carry one and the same DNA, which has customers and employees at each end of the double helix, ensuring that all kinds of non-value-adding structures and activities are eliminated immediately. All units of this newly created ecosystem must be guided by a clearly formulated vision (purpose), which specifically focuses on customer value and has the potential to produce transformational products. This purpose serves as a magnet for new partners and stakeholders in the value creation process.
The presentation provides an general overview of the Company ReBuilding concept, the underlying Communities of practices & references

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

CDD is a feasible method for start-ups support with some drawbacks
We propose a Lightweight method (Light CDD) 18
19. Principles of Light CDD
The users of LightCDD should be supplied with the information of what
enterprise modelling in general is and how this could help to improve their
case.
The LightCDD should focus on the goals, context and processes. The pattern
modelling and adjustment modeling method components are excluded.
From the CDD tool suite, CDT seems to be the only one that the entrepreneurs
can use.
The prerequisites for the method application are not taken into consideration
Stakeholder types that participate to the different phases of the CDD were
excluded (start-up teams include smaller number of individuals) 19

Further Work
Guidelines and best practices for BPM are going to be improved and
incorporated
CDD concepts are going to be refined and simplified
Important aspects such as the revenue models, channels, key
resources, and team expertise is going to be addressed
