Life Changing Event Essay
Crafting an essay on the theme of a life-changing event is undeniably a challenging endeavor.
The difficulty lies not only in the task of recounting a personal experience that has significantly
impacted one's life but also in the delicate balance between introspection and objective narration.
It requires a writer to delve deep into their memories, extracting poignant details, and then
skillfully translating those experiences into a coherent and engaging narrative.
The challenge intensifies as one grapples with the responsibility of articulating the profound
emotions associated with such an event. Capturing the essence of transformation, growth, or
upheaval demands a keen sense of self-awareness and a mastery of language to convey the
complexities of the journey. Striking the right tone, avoiding clichГ©s, and maintaining a sense
of authenticity pose additional hurdles.
Moreover, the very nature of a life-changing event essay demands introspection and
vulnerability, which can be emotionally taxing. Writers may find themselves revisiting moments
that are both uplifting and challenging, requiring them to navigate a fine line between revealing
personal truths and respecting the privacy of those involved.
Additionally, the pressure to create a narrative that stands out among countless others tackling
similar themes can be daunting. Originality becomes crucial as writers seek to breathe life into
their stories, avoiding generic tropes and delivering a unique perspective that resonates with
readers.
In conclusion, crafting a compelling essay on a life-changing event requires a delicate blend of
emotional intelligence, writing skill, and self-reflection. It is an intricate process that demands
time, effort, and a willingness to expose one's vulnerabilities. However, the reward lies in the
potential for a deeply resonant and impactful narrative that connects with readers on a profound
level.

Love By Christopher Marlowe And The Nymph s Reply To
His Love
Throughout The Passionate Shepherd to His Love by Christopher Marlowe and
The Nymph s Reply to The Shepherd by Sir Walter Raleigh, both of these poets
propose opposing viewpoints on love, nature, time, and the material world.
Throughout the poems, you can look at how each thing that they say are pretty
different from one another. The way that these authors propose their feelings can
change the way that you feel towards these things as well. Most of all, their point of
views contrast with each other the whole time. Love can be different emotions
typically felt in a positive way like the Shepherds view, but also can be negative like
the Nymph feels. In the Shepherds poem, love is not possible without nature because
all things come from... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Shepherd believes that time strengthens love because the more time he was to
spend with the Nymph the more love they would have for one another, If these
delights thy mind may move, Then live with me and be my love . He also thinks
that time doesn t exist in nature by believing that when you see all the beauties in
nature you will forget how much time is going by, By shallow rivers to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals . Although, the Nymph believes that time will
eventually reveal the truth because she knows that everything he is offering is not
gonna last forever, The rest complains of care to come . Also, she believes that
time is limited because life is short and you can t enjoy it forever, Time drives the
flocks from field to fold . They both have different viewpoints on time and what
can happen in the time they have. The material world can be seen as the things that
the Shepherd is trying to give to the Nymph to win her over, which she does not
think the same way as him about these things. The Shepherd wants to use
materialistic things to buy happiness like how he was going to make different
things to give to his love, A gown made of the finest wool . He believes that
material things are an expression of love because by letting her know he would give
her a bed of roses he thinks she will love him because of that, Then live with me
A Simple Mathematical Model Of The Underlying
Economics
The current crisis is catalyzing an array of responses, including searching for causes,
reworking regulations, scapegoating and a massive capital injection. Without a clear
understanding of the cause, the remedies may do more harm than good, innocents
may be scapegoated, and valuable progress in financial tools may be lost. Worse, it
will happen again. From a simple mathematical model of the underlying economics, I
first predicted this crisis in July of 2004. Economic dynamic relating very low interest
rates to the structure of the demand curve in the housing market made this outcome
foreseeable, indeed inevitable. The current crisis had a mathematical cause. There isn
t space here for full explanations; see... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two central facts are these: for reasons we ll discuss, buyers buy a monthly
payment, not a house price, and buyers buy as much house as they can afford. This
brings us to the heart of the matter: mortgages that require no down payment, and
only interest payments, alter the structure of the demand curve for real estate, in a way
that is harmless enough when interest rates are high, but which drives a bubble at
low interest rates. Specifically, they make housing prices inversely proportional to
the interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half, house prices double. When those
rates double, house prices are slashed in half. When interest rates are large, they are
not likely to double or halve, but when interest rates are small, a small adjustment can
be a big percentage change, and the danger of big swings in housing prices is
appreciable, even inevitable. With no down payment, no amortization and closing
costs folded into the loan, the only issue in affording a house is the monthly payment,
which is the house price multiplied by the interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half,
the house you can buy with a given monthly payment costs twice as much. But the
same number of people with the same income distribution is competing for a fixed
stock of housing. The house price is bid up until the new monthly payment at the new
interest rate matches the old monthly payment at the old interest rate. The house
price varies inversely
My Favorite Dog Essay
Owning a dog is a lot of work You have to take them for walks, runs, feed them,
cuddle with them, and play with them. Getting a puppy is even more work because
you have to train them and get them on schedule. Bulldogs have great personalities.
They are cuddly, playful, but are not the best for children unless they grew up around
kids. Since I was around 4 years old, I have been around dogs. The first one we had
was a English bulldog. He had short, stubby little legs. But we were young, and he
would always be knocking us down on our butts. Then we got an american bulldog
from my Dad s friend who was moving. She was my favorite dog even though she
was lazy most of the time. She would jump onto my bunk bed with me and was
always gentle with me. She would always end up being my pillow, and I loved that.
So I want to figure out which dog would be better for my lifestyle now. Based on my
research and how busy I can get at times, I think it would be better to have a Olde
English bulldog puppy because they are more relaxed. It would also be less
expensive for me. The price of a bulldog varies because you have to buy breeding
rights if you want to breed your dog. I choose to research bulldogs because
growing up I had 3 of them, and I would love to have lots of them. The breeds all
had very different personalities, and I loved them all, but an Olde English bulldog
can cost up to $2,500. For an American bulldog, typically you can expect the cost to
average around $1500 $4000

create a book and re booking after destroying it. Ella Kerner also printed a dress
pattern on her book using the press (show picture). Giampaolo Nicosia 19 also
utilized the press to put text on his book. The project was a great opportunity for
students to begin experimenting with the press and to become more comfortable
thinking outside the box and including more creativity in their works.
Having a working knowledge of the printing press allows our students to access a
tool that is rarely seen at the high school level, said Bligh. By having a printing press
our students can experiment with many exciting processes that yield results quickly.
Bligh noted that some challenges students may face when learning how to operate
the press is the mere fact that he lets them learn the process on their own.
Bligh commented on the level of creativity students have reached when utilizing the
press this past year. I have seen students use it to quickly transfer text or pattern to a
work of art, he said. The students also used it to emboss or add pressure as well as

The Subjects Of Social Class And Status
The subjects of social class and status are major concerns in the lives of the
characters in Jane Austen s Emma. If one believes the Oxford English Dictionary
definitions that consider social status to be [a] person s standing or importance in
relation to other people within a society, and social rank to mean [a] division of a
society based on social and economic status, we can see that there is a definite
difference in meaning that marks an important dichotomy in the novel. While social
classis determined by birth and wealth, one s social statusis left up to the people they
are surrounded by. As this is the case, while one cannot socialize themselves out of a
low social class, one s social status can be determined by the attitudes of their peers,
and their perception of character and rank. While some characters seem to support
this idea more than others, the relationships between the characters and how they
relate to the almost omniscient everybody shows an interesting flexibility in status.
An example of this is our lowest class main character, Harriet Smith, who is shown as
being pleasantly simple with a lack of tangible sophistication. Through her
relationship with Emma, while Harriet remains at the same social class, her status,
at least her own mind, is artificially elevated, driving her to try for marriage proposals
out of her reach. Mr. Elton reflects some of this in his own way as well, forgoing a
marriage with a woman with very little to offer him for a

Abstract A numerical investigation has been carried out for incompressible turbulent
flow through 900bend pipes. The model is based on the numerical solution of
conservation equations of mass and momentum. The results of the simulations of the
flow in the form of contour and vector plots for two types of pipe bend both mitre
and smooth bend with seven different Reynolds numbers (2.0+E04, 2.5+E04,
3.0+E04, 3.5+E04, 4.0+E04, 4.5+E04 and 5.0+ E04) are presented in this paper.
From the obtained results, it is seen that the mitre bend produces more turbulent
kinetic energy, eddy viscosity, skin friction factor compared to the smooth bend. To
put an emphasis on the smooth bend for different R/D ratios, the static pressure
distribution along the inner, outer wall and the pressure loss factor with different
Re numbers are analyzed. However, it is noticed that as Re increases the pressure
gradient changes rapidly at the inner and the outer wall of the bend. Again, the total
pressure loss factor k increases as the R/D ratio decreases and due to higher velocity
heads factor k decreases as Re increases. The numerical results are found to be in a
good agreement with experimental

Since my academic interests and strengths involve the mathematical and scientific
topics, I had the voluntary impetus to pursue them at UC Irvine with all of my effort
and determination. My favorite undergraduate courses were the Organic Chemistry

setting as well as the significance of working through numerous application problems
rather than simply memorizing content. The professor stressed that higher
performing students tend to study earlier, not necessarily more and I abide by that
statement. Spring quarter of my third year, was when I decided to concentrate in

My first Track Day at the Auto Club Speedway was in June. It was a great
experience since I had the ability to check all the technical components of my car
before driving it on the track. I drove for a bit at the track, but got caught up in
observing the more experienced and professional drivers pushing their cars to the
limits. Experienced track drivers gave me tips on how to take the corners quickly:
braking point, turn in point, apex, as well as analyze the position and direction of
the next corner. After that day, not only did I learn how much brakes and tires wear,
but I acknowledged the importance of checking the essential components of one s
vehicle and ensuring its safe driving condition. This is similar as when one checks a

The Olympic Games Or A Party
The Olympic Games or a Party The Olympics are a special spectacle for everyone,
and for sixteen days every two years we are witness to the best athletes in the
world. Only for the rare few the dream to compete are a reality, but for the billions
of other people, this is an event of pride and passion for their home country. The
continuous cycle of new cities and different countries hosting the games brings out
great nationalism. The challenge to get a bid to host the Olympics has always
been difficult but as the cost of the games rises the number of cities vying for it is
decreasing. The Olympics are the biggest sporting event in the world, and they are
one of the most well known events across the world. Being host to an event like this
brings great revenue into a country s economy through tourism and the need for jobs
and construction. But the Olympics are becoming very costly and countries are
beginning to wonder if its worth it to host the party when they know they will not
earn all the money back. The Olympics ruin economies and the games tend to hurt
countries more than help them. The games are played every two years alternating
between the summer and winter Olympics. It roughly plays host to about 90
countries all vying for one goal, the gold. The Olympics originated in ancient Greece
with the first ever recorded games occurring in 776 B.C. For the first thirteen
Olympics only one event occurred, but now the number has risen to three hundred
events which puts great
A Large Right Whale On Tohunga Beach
A large right whale was stranded on Tohunga Beach. Efforts to save it by volunteers
from Project Jonah were unsuccessful. The Tohunga Council wanted to get rid of
the corpse as it was starting to smell and the tourist season was approaching.
Preliminary investigations proved that towing the whale out to sea was impractical,
given its size and weight. After some discussion the council decided to blow it up
with explosives and rely on the tide to remove the pieces of whale.
Enola Gay was contracted by the Council to do the job. Enola obtained all the
necessary clearances required under the Resource Management Act and the consent
of the Department of Conservation.
This was Enola s first time to blow up a whale. His previous experience was ... Show

My previous experience I have been investigating print media selections when
advertising tourist attractions in the city of Auckland. I have created a design of a
double sided, bi fold, 3 panel brochure. I have learnt the elements and principles of
design that are vital to this type of outcome. I have also learnt how to apply the
elements of design which can be applied to any digital outcome. Important Elements
/Principles of Design There are a variety of elements to be considered while
developing a print media outcome. Colour is an important design element when used
in print media because it creates visual interest towards the viewer. It determines
whether the brochure is noticeable enough. This comes into consideration which is
used to determine the quality of a design within print media. Colour can generate
emotions as well as depict feeling. Alignment is also an important design element
formerly used in print media because it creates a distinct, more orderly design. When
aligning elements this allows them to create a visual connection with either font text,
images, or shapes. It tightens up the design and eradicates the haphazard. This
element prevents items of being randomly placed in a design. Alignment is one of the
most basic and important principles of design. It acknowledges us to create order and
organisation in a design. Proximity is another important design
Argumentative Essay On Baroque Music
Baroque Music The word Baroque was derived from the word barroco, which is used
to mean the period in which western region widely used music especially in the
nineteenth century to express how the European artist practiced the art. When the
historical happenings of the music in well explored, the critics who applied the
musical knowledge made it look strange and majorly sounded exaggerated.
Furthermore, ornamentals were initially used during the era of Bash and Handel.
After the brand of music had shed the connotations that were derogatory, baroques
became one of the mot simplest and convenient in the brand and one of the richest
term, which in the diverse period was included the musical history. Additionally,
despite producing the music... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accordingly, the composers can start imagining about the inspiration the work of
music has done as well as the starting point of the artwork. Throughout the Baroque
era, the composers of the music earned a living through just writing the songs and
were fortunate to be included in the payroll thus perform the religious and political
works that they were presented with during the time. The needs of the institution in
which the work was done dictated entirely which type of music that would be written
by the composers. When the Baroque music has been fully used will dictate the way
the history of the music can be perceived by the people and how gently they would
be used to influence the belief of the majority of the people and how important they
are to the society.
Characteristics of Baroque Music The dramatic and rhetoric composition of the
music gave the possibilities of generating new interests and the creation of a variety
of sounds during the Baroque period. Some of the major characteristics of the
Baroque music were;

Problems Faced By Immigrants In The US
An acquaintance of mine migrated from Eastern Europe to America. With his
relatives and friends support, after five years, he was given a green card which
allows him to stay and work in the US. In his home country, he was a professional
driver and a mechanic. So, he is now working in a friend s garage as an assistance
mechanic. His big problem is that he is unable to learn English, so much so that
he can t even get a driver s license. What s holding him up? He s actually quite
knowledgeable in his field, so it is not the lack of intelligence. And, after all, I ve
seen quite a few emigrants who know even less English than him getting a driver s
license. For one thing, he s extremely shy and becomes very silent when in the
presence of unfamiliar people. So, whenever he goes to the MVD, he gets closed up.

He has a great support base who provide him a job, food, and a room to stay so he
doesn t feel any urgent need to study properly. While it is true that every six
months he makes a new attempt to take the license, he only studies a week or two
before, and only the text in the provided booklet. He s quite content with his
present status, but will happen should something change? He fails to see the
bigger picture and be proactive. In my opinion, he should have made the effort to
learn English, take his CDL, and have his mechanic s qualifications verified in the
US. By failing to make long term plans, and translate it into concrete achievable
short term chunks, he puts himself into a very precarious condition. In a sense, he
reminds me the Aesop s fable about the ant and the grasshopper. Why bother about
winter? said the Grasshoper; we have plenty of food at present... [Come winter, the

Non Aboriginal People In Canada
During the first half of the 20th century the western countries experienced what was
called the Great War, commonly known today as the First World War (WWI).
There were 330,000 men and women that served (WWI) for Canada, some of whose
experiences were very diverse. Aboriginal men who served in the war suffered great
inequality because of racism.
Aboriginal people living in Canada were recruited to fight in WWI for a variety of
reasons. Although some of these reasons for recruitment were different than non
aboriginal people. If you were non Aboriginal you would be able to join the war if
you were an adult Canadian citizen. However if you were Aboriginal you couldn t
join even if you meet these requirements due to the racism against Aboriginals.
Ethics And Standards Of Practice
1.Healthcare professionals must adhere to the ethics and standards of practice. Which
within express the importance of gaining a patient s confidence and trust (National
Association for Healthcare Quality, 2011). Granger (2013) implies that basic
introduction with healthcare professionals addressing a patient, is a first basic step
taught within any clinical interaction. Without it patients are lead to feel vulnerable
and awkward, therefore trust and confidence is not gained, compromising patient
safety.

the nature of work, therefore facilities provided can prove a challenge when it comes
to infection control and handwashing.
National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines, NICE (2012), implies

Leadership Has Not Changed Very Much From The
Beginning Of...
My view on leadership has not changed very much from the beginning of this
course. However, I have been able to learn more formal theories and ideas that
support my definition of leadership. I have always compared leadership to
management because though the two are different when it comes down to it, they do
share a few similarities. My definition of leadershipthat I referred to throughout this
course was: a continuous process where an individual motivates changes and
inspires others to achieve a common purpose. This course really confirmed for me
that leadership is an ongoing process and one is never done learning how to
become a leader. This course made me realize though, how management is good,
but good leadership is more important to a company. We look at several studies
about how a manager s leadership can influence sales, employee motivation, and so
much more. For me, this reinforces my idea that being a manager is just not enough
anymore, but one also has to be an inspiring leader for their followers. Leadership is
taking what management does a step further by understanding their followers,
encouraging growth, and inspiring a way to get there. Finally, this course confirmed
for me that there are no set personality traits that make someone a good leader.
Instead, there are traits that are common amongst leaders. This does not mean that
those who do not possess those traits cannot become leaders, it just mean they may
have to work a bit harder than others.

highest incidence rate of 25.5% was described for Vietnamese children in Hong
Kong camps where housing was cramped, consisting of large huts that housed

BACKS IN THE RACE TO ERADICATE MEASLES
Measles is an acute viral disease caused by a paramyxovirus of the genus
Morbilivirus. Symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes and a generalized
maculopapular erythematous rash. It is spread by respiratory system contact with
fluids from an infected person s nose and mouth by either droplet (coughing or
sneezing) or aerosol transmission. Although a vaccine has been available since 1959
[7], measles remains an important cause of morbidity and mortality in children,
particularly in developing countries where more than 95% of measles associated
deaths occur [8, 9, 10].

The Enlightenment Period In America
Out of this week s reading, the one thing that I came to admire was the enlightenment
period. The Enlightenment period began because of small groups. Men would meet
in coffeehouses and the women would meet in salons. People could slow down, talk
and dream. This caused a movement of people taking their dreams and ideas to a
reality. This movement sparked the future of the world. This began the Scientific
Revolution and the Glorious Revolution. With havening a movement of this scale, it
could not be contained to one place. It expanded to France and eventually the
Americas. The advancement in technology cased the western world to expand and
lead to the form of the Americas. People began to travel based on their enlightenment
and need for freedom.

canvas in front of me is half bare and waiting for me to add more color. I dip my
brush in my paint cup. It is an old thick plastic cup permanently stained with
various other paints after years of use. I enjoy how worn it is though. It shows
how long I have been painting and feels almost like an art piece in itself. Holding
the very end of the brush handle I roughly add the watery red paint just above the
center of the canvas. It drips down onto an old trifold I always place underneath
my easel for that very reason. I fill in the roughly drawn lips on the canvas. I wipe
the wet brush on my thighs, since I do not want to ruin a towel. I switch it around
in the water cup until it is clean, and then place it into a similar cup that I use to dry
my brushes in bristle side up. I grab a similar brush from table behind me that has a
bit of a rounder edge. I dip that bush in cadmium yellow. The yellow acts as the
unnatural light source on the left side of my piece. I wished to replicate the cruddy
yellow light that comes from a cheap light bulb. Once satisfied I do the same with
that brush as I did the last. The next brush I drown in a half and half mixture of
Case Study Of Innovation Around Product System
Innovation around Product System: A Case Study on Despite Group of Companies
and Koko King
A business, no matter how large it is, cannot thrive without innovation. In a world
where obsolescence, and not only physical damage, shorten the life cycle of products
and services, innovation is key. Innovation, as largely defined, is the art of adding
value to an already existing product, service or process or the art of creating
something new. Innovation around product system implies creating value through the
building of offerings that will complement the already existing ones (Doblin, 2017).
This piece seeks to explore the topic, Innovation around Product Systems. The text

the packaging whilst increasing accessibility to Hausa koko (porridge). With regards
to system innovation, Koko King added to its breakfast dishes (oat, eku egbeemi

sandwiches, pancakes, and akara as supplements. Moreover, the company has
added lunch dishes like banku, wakye, jollof and kenkey (Koko King, 2017).
These different local dishes give variety to customers and with a reliable delivery
service as a compliment, they are able to capture the value created. Their
innovation greatly paid off. They did not only boost sales but as well won many
awards. Among these awards are Small and Medium Entrepreneur of the Year 2013,

and Industrial Sector Award for Best FoodProcessing Company (SMEGA 2014)

Key Lessons Learnt After a thorough exploration of product system innovation and an
in depth examination of the cases, the authors came to the realization that innovation,
no matter which type or how small it might be, pays. Society recognized and awarded
both companies for their innovation and their sales soared with innovation. Again, the
authors accepted the what should be the obvious relevance of product system

With consolidation an era of concentration began. With fewer companies owning
more they were able to share resources and become more effective in their reporting.
This efficiency carried over with advertising and other sources of income for the
newspapers.
The invention of the Internet took its toll on the newspaper industry. The availability
of news became widely available to a much larger audience. The printed newspaper
at first faced severe cut backs due to advertising teetering off and paid subscriptions
declining. In order to counter these losses the printed newspaper transitioned into the
online newspaper. In addition, with this online newspaper they were able to share
content and essentially cut down on their bottom line cost in production. Unlike the
printed paper and its newshole the online paper is essentially limitless on how much
it can report.
The printed newspaper has been an integral part of American society for many more
years then most realize. Either through its digital distribution on mobile or social

Chemistry 111
Course Section 475
Introduction:
Copper has a very important biological and environmental significance, and is
considered one of the most important elements all over the world. Within this
experiment, copper s ionic and elemental forms will be examined. This will be
done by exposing copper to a series of chemicals and transforming copper into a
nitrate, a hydroxide, an oxide, a sulfate, and then changing it back to its original
element, copper. This process is known as the Copper Cycle, and can be used to
study and observe the different types of chemical reactions that exist within our
biological and environmental systems.
Materials and Methods: The materials that were used to conduct this experiment
include a 50 mL beaker, a 10 mL graduated cylinder, a hot plate, a ring stand, a
clamp, an iron ring, a plastic funnel, an aspirator, rubber tubing, weighing boats, a
magnetic stir rod, disposable pipettes, a stirring rod, a filter flask, filter paper, a
BГјchner funnel, distilled water, a watch glass, and litmus paper. The chemicals
used in this experiment include 6M of HNO_3 (Nitric Acid), 6M of NaOH (Sodium
Hydroxide), 3M of H_2 SO_4(Sulfuric acid), 6M of HCl (Hydrochloric Acid), Zinc,
and Copper turnings. The experiment began with setting up the first apparatus by
placing the 50 mL beaker on the hot plate and attaching the beaker to the ring stand.

The State Of Sexual Harassment
Cates, S., Machin, L. (2012). The State of Sexual Harassment in America: What is
the Status of Sexual Harassment in the US Workplace Today? Journal of Global

Unwanted sexual advances are inappropriate whether or not an individual is at work.
This article speaks to the minds of people who have been sexually harassed at work
in the 2000s. When written, the article explained that in the last two years sexual
harassment in the workplace had actually increased. It also explains the difference
between a minor incident that may involve an inappropriate comment and many
inappropriate comments that may begin affecting workmanship. Previous articles
have stated most of the time sexual harassment is based upon leadership and
masculinity, but Cates and Machin state there is no reason behind it. According to
the article, there are many types of sexual harassment: verbal/written, physical,
nonverbal (inappropriate staring), severe/pervasive (attempted rape). These are split,
according to the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) into two
factions, quid pro quo and hostile. The consequences of these actions need to be
enforced by not only termination, but possible convictions, as well.

Frankenstein In The 18th Century Essay
Satan has his companions, fellow devils, to admire and encourage him; but I am
solitary and detested (Mary Shelley). In Mary Shelley s novel, Frankenstein, Victor
Frankenstein creates a monster who refers to himself as Adam of your labours
which also happens to be the first man created in the Bible. The monster was
abandoned by Victor and was left to teach himself and slowly discover what he is,
which slowly drives him to insanity. Gothic novelists such as Mary Shelley targeted
to epitomize the melancholy of the early 18th century throughout their writing. When
the first wave of gothic literature was started it was created as a refined joke. The
second wave of gothic novelists, along with Mary Shelley, founded innovative

Shelley influenced science, medical exploration and experimentation through her
novel by pressing boundaries and rectifying the journey of modern science. Without
Shelley s innovative philosophies concerning science, medical science would not be
where it currently is in medical evaluations. However, Frankenstein wasn t only an
inspiration to modern scientists at the time, it was also an inspiration to grotesque
novelists and set a new level for gothic writers of the 18th century. Through a
religious standpoint, we have received our bodies as a gift from God, and to create

Data Mining And Anomaly Detection Techniques
This is the introduction of the paper stated, A survey of data mining and social
network analysis based on anomaly detection techniques which is authored by
Ravneet Kaur and Sarbjeet Singh in Egyptian Informatics Journal in 2016. The paper
first introduces the different meanings given by authors on anomaly and outliers
which derive a behavior abnormal from the normal occurrence.
A clear review of how anomalies are detected and the data mining techniques used are
presented in this paper giving the readers a view on characteristics considered in
determining the data as normal or an anomaly behavior.
Further, the concepts of static/dynamic, labeled /unlabeled network structures are

The labeled activity has the information from the nodes and the links between them
which generally specify the description about the nodes and the network involved.
The unlabeled structure has no information linked to the nodes and links which
enable the structure to be further categorized to a static labeled, static unlabeled and
dynamic labeled and dynamic unlabeled.
Based on behavior, the anomalies are differentiated as white crow and in disguise
which are given as specific node or link that shows an abnormal activity for a data
object and in disguise anomaly has a small significant change from the regular
pattern which are not easy to be detected as they are not visible and inside the
network.
The properties such as insertion which involves the adding of a node, modification is
the operation where the label of node is changed and deletion meaning the removal of
node. The interaction pattern gives the categorization of abnormalities on how the
anomalies are present in grouping themselves like near stars/cliques, heavy loading.
The approaches in detecting anomalies are based upon the methods we use for
getting information on how the abnormities are compared with. The supervised
technique is on how an already known data on nodes and links are given on. If the
regular pattern data is compared with known data which resembles abnormities, then
it is said to
Phaeochromocytoma Case Study
Pheochromocytoma is a catecholamine producing tumor that originates from
cromaffin cells of the adrenergic system, most commonly in the adrenal medulla.
There are two main steps in the diagnosis of pheochromocytoma: biochemical
demostration of excessive catecholamine secretion and radiological localization of the
causative tumor.
Patient with phaeochromocytoma may come to medical attention due to their
hypertension (which is paroxysmal in aproximately one thirdof patients, but can also
be sustained) or because of the clinical features that stem from the increased secretion
of catecholamines (i.e. epinephrine and norepinehprine).
In any case, the diagnosis should be suspected in patients with one or more of the
following: onset of hypertension ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
False positive results can arise due to the presence of other medical conditions (most
notably obstructive sleep apnea) and medications (such as selective serotonin
reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs) that can cause the elevation of metanephrines, hence
patients should stod taking all medications that can possibly interfere with the results
prior to testing.
Chromogranin A is a major secretory protien present in the cormaffin granules and a
very effective tumor marker that can improve the sensitivity of diagnostic testing and
long term follow up for pheochromocytoma. Clonodine suppression and glucagon
stimulation tests have been studied, but are seldom required and have not been
validated in the diagnosis of childhood pheochromocytoma.

Military Influences In Ancient Egyptian Culture
As with many technological advancements (i.e. air transportation, internet, GPS to
name a few) that were initially invented for military reasons and play these days an
important role in the consumption of tourism related products and services (Sauter,
Hess Frohlich, 2013), one would also imagine that the camerahas started its triumphal
march as a mere military invention. This is, however, only partially true. Literature
confirms that the U.S. military played a great part in the technological progress of the
20th century (Bellis, 2015b) and benefited in turn from photographymuch earlier than
the general population, such as the use of extreme depth underwater cameras by the
U.S. Navy in 1960 or the application of digital cameras for spy satellites... Show more

Greeks primarily travelled to attend public festivals or participate in religious
/sporting events, most notably the Olympic Games in Olympia and the Pythian
Games in Delphi. Victors at these events were not only honoured, often poets were
commissioned to write poems in praise of their victory, and artists would
immortalize them on pottery (Golden, 2003). This era also marks the birth of the
camera and photography. The basic principles of optics and of the camera were
first described in the fourth century BC by ancient Greek and Chinese philosophers.
However, it took another 1,000 years before Aristotle s described phenomenon of
optics laid the groundwork for Ibn Al Haythan in the 15th century to invent the
prototype of the modern camera, the Camera Obscura (or pinhole camera), an
optical device allowing users to capture images and project them onto a screen
upside down (O Neill, 2011). Although great accomplishments in the field of
photography were made from the antiquity to the Early Modern Period, the
prototypes of the modern camera were not able to create lasting images. People in
that time, more precisely from the Postclassical Era in the 5th century to the
beginning of the Age of Revolutions in the 18th century, strongly relied upon artwork
portraying mythological figures, Bible scenes or important events of their daily life.

Outline the Structure of the Main Tissues of the Body.
P2: Outline the structure of the main tissues of the body.
In this assignment I m going to talk about the structure of the main tissues which are
found within the body as well as what their role is in the terms of two named organs
of the body. Tissues are a collection of similar cells that group together to carry out a
specific function within the body. There are four different types of tissue found in the
human body which include; epithelial tissue; connective tissue; muscle tissue and
nerve tissue.
The first type of tissue found in the human body is epithelial tissue. These types of
tissue are found covering the whole surface of the body, lining of cavities, hollow
organs and tubes. The cells a very closely packed and are arranged in one ... Show

Transitional epithelium is also composed of several layers but is constructive of pear
shaped cells instead. This type of tissue is stretchy, meaning it can contract and
expand. It is usually found lining the urinary bladder as it allows for stretching as the
bladder fills up.
The second type of tissue found in the body is connective tissue. They lie beneath the
epithelial tissue helping to connect different part of the internal structure, the cells are
more widely separated from each other then in epithelial tissue. The intercellular
substance known as the matrix is found in considerably large amounts. Within the
matrix there are usually fibres which may be a jelly like consistency or dense and
rigid depending on the type, function and positioning of the tissue. Theses fibres form
a supporting system for cells to attach to. The major functions of connective tissue are
to transport materials, give structural support and protection. The types of connective
tissue that will be explained are blood, bone, cartilage, bone, areolar tissue and
adipose tissue.
Blood is made up of straw coloured plasma, the matrix, in which various types of
blood are carried. Plasma is mainly water where substances are carried such as
oxygen and carbon dioxide, nutrients such as glucose and amino acids, salts, enzymes
and hormones. Also there is a combination of important proteins which help with
blood clotting, transport,

According to Soviet sports training books I have read, the kinds of training
depicted in the movie may very well be accurate. There are only two things that
may be a stretch: The first is the use of sparring partners by Drago. The movie
depicts Drago pummeling every one of his partners, sending them to the canvas
spitting up blood. This, of course, doesn t happen in real life, sparring partners are
partners not punching bags. The second thing about Drago s training that is
questionable is his use of steroids in the movie. Contrary to popular belief, this was
not a wide spread practice and, in fact, it was condemned by the government. Any
athlete who was caught doing steroids, or any coach who distributed them, were
eliminated from the sports program. Soviet scientists and trainers knew that the use
of steroids only provided a quick boost in strength, and that continued use of them
would cause extensive injuries to the athlete. In short, the athlete would be injured so
much that he would have been able to train harder and achieve maximum
performance without the drugs. In the movie s defense though, the scene is relevant
in the context that we all thought the Soviets were taking superior drugs thus adding
to our fear of them.
This movie definitely displayed our thoughts and emotions dealing with the Cold
War, right up to the very end. Our sentiments were captured exactly when after the

The Divine Number
Among all religions, all nations, and all cultures, one unique character is shared.
Whether it be engraved within the ancient grounds of Ireland, where tombs are
covered in trinomial swirls, or the works of the famous mathematician Pythagoras,
who discovered the most simple and most perfect complete polygon, the number
three is used everywhere. The importance of this digit can be found in many places,
including our religious beliefs, our world s history, and even in modern day
mysteries. Everyone on Earth has some form of religion, whether they worship a god,
multiple gods, or no god at all. Almost all of these religions have had some sort of
past with this hallowed numeral. One religion in particular, one of the world s
most famous religions, that showcases this number spasmodically is Christianity.
In this religion, we are separated into three worlds: Earth, Heaven, and Hell, so
from the very start, the number had been introduced, but it ceases to halt here. God
had Moses build him a box, famously known as the Arc of the Covenant, and only
three items are worthy enough to be placed inside this box: The Ten
Commandments, which were touched by the hand of god. A jar of Manna food that
fell from the sky to feed the people while they traveled for many days and nights and
lastly, Aaron s rod, which is a walking staff that can turn into a snake on command of
the holder. After Jesus dies, he resurrects in three days. You have the Godhead three

THE FIRST BATTLE OF BULL RUN

On July 21, 1861, two armies, one confederate and the other Union, prepared for the
first major land battle of the Civil War. In 1861 Abraham Lincoln was sworn in as
President.
The Southern states had seceded and the South had fired on and captured Fort Sumter
on April 12 1861.
After the Fort Sumter battle, both the North and the South began preparing for war
by raising armies. This was done quickly and neither side spent much time training
the troops. Both sides also did not know what a long and terrible war was ahead.

General McDonnell attempted to flank the Confederates by moving north and west,
and began several attacks on the Confederates right flank and the center of the
Confederate line at Henry House.
As the battle wore on, the superior numbers of the Union Army began to wear down
the Confederate lines. At a critical point, as the Confederates began to fall back, an
officer pointed out a line of rebels who were still strong. He said, look at Jackson s
men standing like a stone wall . He was talking about General T. J. Jackson s men.
Jackson would from then on be known as Stonewall Jackson , one of the most
famous of all Confederate generals. This seemed to inspire the Southern troops at
Henry House who held their ground and began to beat back the Union forces.
On the west flank the Union troops who had been moving slowly were pushed back
by General Johnston s troops who arrived in the afternoon by railroad. Civilian
spectators had come out from Washington to watch the battle. They thought it would
be like a sporting event. As the battle turned against the North, they panicked and the
one road back to Washington became clogged with overturned carriages and wagons.
The Union retreat had turned into panic by early evening.
In the end, the North had suffered 2,896 men killed wounded or missing; the South
had lost 1,982. The South had won the big victory in the first major

complete an online financial management course at the Benedictine University. The
course was taught by one of the proficient professors in the department of finance.
Even though I have taken other online courses prior to this class, this particular
course is worth analyzing because it was taught by a professor that loves teaching
and his love for teaching was apparent in the way he interacted with students. In my
opinion, he is a wonderful, knowledgeable and well experienced professor. He kept
the students (team) updated by posting pertinent announcement. Considering my
training as a scientist financial management was not one of my strong subjects,
however, the professor made sure that all students had an opportunity to learn the
fundamental concepts of managing the finance of firms. To this end, he was prompt
to answer the questions and gave excellent and detailed answers to all questions
asked by the students. In terms of the class discussions his feedbacks were added

the last decade. Their titles are Pleasantville and The Truman Show . Starting with
the Pleasantville , the general overview of the film s plot gets more complicated the
further you get into it. It brings up several issues all of which I have commented on

The film starts with two teenagers, David and Jennifer. David has an addiction to old

The towns of Pleasantville and Seahaven, the sets for both films are similar in

Public Private Partnerships in India
PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP IN INDIA
Public Private Partnership or PPP is a subject being given the increasing attention
that it has been receiving in context of the sweeping changes in India s economic
policies. We are all aware, along with the dismantling of the license permit raj a
greater role is envisaged for the private sector in these new policies. Now it seems
that, the private sector is not only to be facilitated in its growth, but there it can be
taken on board as a partner by the government in the provision of public services.
This of course, is the purpose of PPP. For those of us who have had a long innings in
Government, such thinking represents a paradigm shift from the way things were
always done. I am aware of the fact ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The key words seem to be rewards and risks.
Having said this, I may state that this scenario gives rise to a host of issues to the
mind of a practical administrator. Some of them would be on these lines:
В•Firstly, when should a public project opt for PPP? Does the project lend itself to
the model, or indeed justify sharing of the rewards with the private sector. The U.K.
was one of the first countries to go into partnership with the private sector for
providing public services. They have been fairly successful in this respect. One of
their PPP models is called the Public Finance Initiative (PFI), wherein the
government contracts to purchase services on a long term basis from a private
provider, who may build, maintain and operate infrastructure. The costs may be met
from user charges, along with state subsidies, which are a form of viability gap
funding . However while implementing the PFI program, the U.K. government had
issued guidelines on the types of projects that needed to be taken up under it. These
guidelines stated that PFI is appropriate where there are major and complex capital
projects with significant and ongoing maintenance requirements. Here the private
sector can offer project management skills, more innovative design and risk
management expertise that can bring substantial benefits. In other words it is clear
that PPP can be
Beowulf Character Analysis
The tale of Beowulf follows one of history s oldest heroes as he ventures throughout
Nordic Europe on a quest to kill the infamous monster Grendel, however in contrast
with many of the regaled heroes of the past Beowulf remains constant in every aspect
of his character. His goals, values, and actions never undergo even the slightest
amount of alteration, even throughout his unusually long life, he remains static,
Why? Some would argue that Beowulfs unchanging personality could be
contributed to poor penmanship by the author of the tale, or that it simply could
have been lost throughout the ages of the story being retold orally, but despite all
of that, it seems most likely that Beowulf was intentionally portrayed this way in
order to set an example for those who would encounter his story, in all senses of the
Nordic Culture that he came from, Beowulf is the Paragon of what a nord should
aspire to be, his values encompassed everything their culture held dear in this world:
gold, glory, the well being of his people, and an aspiration to have his name ring out
for the rest of eternity.
From the very beginning of his adventure, Beowulf announces his intent with
seemingly no reservations as he calls to King Hrothgar to openly state in his own
words that he has, A single request! I have come so far, that this one favor you
should not refuse me That I, alone with the help of my men, may purge all evil from
this hall (Beowulf Poet 38). This is an outright declaration of

Tomilie s Movement In Japan
i. family
Kaede s father, Tomoi, was once a shinobi stationed in the land of Shikoku. The
movement in japan had caused his work to become more tense in the shinobi world
when various issue s started to rise one by one. He had then married his wife,
Misako, 2 years later; a seamstress that was welcoming to the evolution of technology
and westernization, and eventually had converted Tomoi to be hopeful for the new
revolution that was reaching japan as well.
They continued to have an active lifestyle across the continent in trying to find

Having the advantage of what Kaede s father taught before hand, most beginner
courses were quite easy to pass. There were some things Kaede struggled with at a
younger time when she first entered, now being on her own to learn them instead, but
with enough endurance and practice she eventually pulled through.
Throughout the years, Kaede had usually been more calculating and cautious than
anything though at the same time unafraid and willing to take a hit. Combat and
sparring had almost seemed fun something energizing for her to put forth her pent
up energy to, but not in a violent or sadistic way. Her strengths had lied in ninjutsu

the mix of defensive and offensive qualities of taijutsu for closer range. Kaede hadn

King Writes As A Clergyman, An American Citizen, A...
King writes as a Clergyman, an American Citizen, a Judeo Christian leader, a
Christian Brother, a Political Moderate, a Nonviolent Direct Activist, and Anti
Segregationist, a United States Negro, a Creative Extremist, an Integrationist, and a
Civil Rights Leader. All are intertwined by the common thread of moral and just
activism for the betterment of Negroes in the United States, specifically Birmingham.
As a member of all of these communities, he brings credibility to his argument and
can speak on the behalf of both sides, even those that conflict with one another. He
defines his own membership within each community according to the overall effect it
will have on his refutations of the four main accusations in the public statement....

In their letter, the clergy have indicated that protests, including any acts of civil
disobedience, can result in violence and ultimately anarchy. King takes several
paragraphs to explain in a systematic, logical way the methods of a nonviolent
campaign. In paragraph 6, for example, he sets out the four basic steps each
thoughtful and disciplined. In subsequent paragraphs, he explains the political
climate of Birmingham and how he and his community have been mindful of the
individuals (he names several) and events (such as the mayoral election) in that
community. His detailed and cerebral explanation of philosophy and method implies
that the nonviolent campaign is the antithesis of protests that act precipitously
without regard for the consequences. Form follows function in this case: the orderly
explanation reflects the orderly process being explained.
King may have had several purposes for this juxtaposition, expressed through a
vivid metaphor of horse and buggy pace with jet like speed. For one, he appeals to
the patriotic spirit of Americans who would not want their country to lag behind any
others in any category, including social justice. Second, this juxtaposition alludes to
the worldwide changes as people of color in the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa are
demanding and winning

Cars Character Analysis
In the movie Cars, by John Lasseter, Lightning McQueen goes through a very large
personal change or healing process throughout the movie. This movie is more of a
healing myth because, In the beginning, he is a very stuck up and self centered
character that only cares about winning. By the end, he has turned to a more humble
character that has a better view on the truly important things in life. In other words, at
the beginning he is broken and must go and truly see the finer things in life and find
himself before he can succeed. There are a few different things that changehis
attitude. One thing is the people that he meets in Radiator Springs. Second, is the
general life of the town that he has to accommodate to. Linda Seger describes a
healing myth as one where a character is broken and must leave home to become
whole again . That statement describes this movie in so many ways. Lightning
McQueen leaves his home which is represented by his life on the racing circuit, and
goes on a journey where he becomes whole again before he can return home.
Lightning, meets a lot of different people, or cars, in this small town of Radiator
Springs that really change his attitude towards life and also his view on life. An
good example would be Sally. Sally is the pretty girl of this story. She is a nice and
shiny blue porsche that Lightning ends up falling in love with. The entire time that
Lightning is in the town, he tries to impress Sally and make her fall in love with him.

Analysis Of Don Delillo s White Noise
Don DeLillo is an American writer born in 1936. DeLillo is a postmodernist and
has written eleven books receiving various awards for his work. The title of
DeLillo s eighth novel White Noise brings forth many assumptions towards the
overall meaning of the book. If one was to generally interpret the meaning, white
noise is produced when sound waves are joined together creating a constant buzz.
This buzz can produce a relaxing or an overwhelming feeling, depending, if it
refers to a repetitive noise one is trying to avoid or perhaps noise one is trying to
embrace. With this being said, DeLillo s White Noise is set in the twentieth
century, and tells a story about a college professor by the name of Jack Gladney
who is a professor for the Hitler Studies at College on the Hill. Throughout the novel
it is evident that Jack is the main character and the narrator of the story, who
experiences a constant murmur of his underlying fearof deathinvading his thoughts.
The constant reminder of white noise causes Jack to have uncertainties that stop him
from repressing death in the society around him. As a result, Jack is challenged with
many obstacles as he tries to avoid, cope, and confront the thought of death while
diminishing the white noise that he is trying to escape.
Avoidance is choosing to hide from the inevitable truth instead of accepting the
thought of death. In the first part of the novel, Jack Gladney is seen as an average
working man who has to earn an income in
Essay on Analysis of The Maltese Falcon
Analysis of The Maltese Falcon
The Maltese Falcon, was not only a detective film, but a film that displayed many
different aspects of the female and the male character in the movie. The film was
more than a story, but a story that explored the ideas of the detective genre and the
different characteristics of femininity and masculinity. It also brought forth subjects
of sexual desires and the greediness of money. The characters and the visual motifs in
the film contributed to the developing of the plot and assisted in creating a more
detective and gender oriented film. In the film, The Maltese Falcon, the role of men
and women are portrayed in different ways in the film to show the distinct functions
of masculinity and femininity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She used her figure as a power tool and focused on her image to express the way
she felt. Women in these cases were very distracting to the male characters in the
film. Sam said to Iva, ?You shouldn?t have come here today, precious. It wasn?t
wise. You can?t stay.? This shows that Iva was in the way of Sam Spade?s work.
Iva was seen as a suspicious character in film as well. Effie said to Sam, ?She kept
me waiting at the door while she undressed, her clothes on a chair where she dumped
her hat and coat underneath, her slip was still warm.? This quote described the
suspicions that Effie had about Iva on the night that Miles, Iva?s husband was
murdered. Sam could trust Effie, but both Effie and Sam had a hard time trusting Iva.
This may have meant that some men may have a harder time trusting woman who are
very feminine.
A character that Sam Spade had a hard time trusting was a woman named Brigid
O?Shaughnessy, who was also know as Miss Wonderly. Effie said to Sam, ?She?s
a knockout.? Not only did Effie and Sam Spade see that she was pretty, but so did
his partner, Miles. Miles said to Sam, ?She?s sweet...Maybe you saw her first, but I
spoke first.? Brigid takes on the sexy woman figure whose voice is gentle, helpless,
and manipulative all at the same time. She is very self centered and tends to deceive
others in order to get what she wants. Brigid said to Sam, ?Can?t you shield me so
that I won?t have to answer their questions...I am afraid and alone.?
What Is The Theme Of Conflict In Lord Of The Flies
The book Lord of the Flies was written after the author William Golding came back
from second world war. William golding used his experiences from the conflict of
the war to write a book that has conflict as the core message. This is shown by the
direct war between civiliation and savagary. It is also shown by the underline
descriptions of the children being opposite to each other. The first point in the
book is the conflict between civilation and savagary. The conflict between these
two areas are shown by the using imagery of the two characters who represent
them. This is shown by the decription of both ralph and jack, the protaganist and
the antagonist. Ralph is shown within this book as The boy with fair hair , the fair
mentioned in this quote shows not only the colour of the boys hair but also has a
double meaning for the boy s nature. This shows that the boy is fair , kind,
civilised. The colour of the boy s hair also can symbolised that he is neutral or even
kind because of the fair colour (i.e white/blond)is lacking darkness... Show more

The main quotes that show the island are The shore was fleged with palm trees and
The long scar smashed into the jungle . These quotes present the island as both hell
and paradise. This can be seen by the imagary of the palm trees and the language
used to describe the parts of the island such as scar and how the smash into the
island. Both these words are veery negative showing that the island is much like
hell but the children see it as paradise because there are no parents that is why it is
show in both ways. The book The Lord of the Flies has the message of confict to
the core. This in my opinion is used to give the user insight into a battlefield. I
belive that the writer has used children to make the point more absorable and more
understandable from all walks of life. The writer has used his expeeriences to give
the conflict in this book meaning and
Tectonic Plates
The Earth is a very detailed planet; there are many actions going on at once on this
planet. The Earth has many boundaries, plates. and layers. The plates beneath our
feet mold the world we live in. While very slowly, the plates are indeed moving.
There are a few variations to the plates; they have different directions in which they
move in relation to separate plates. These changes in plate movement have different
side effects, from ocean trenches to miles of mountain ranges. In 1912, a german
climatologist, Alfred Wegener proposed that the continents were once joined and
made one land mass. He named this super continent Pangaea. He had a lot of
evidence to prove that they were once together, but he was missing one key section of
information,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each plate is moving a certain direction due to the convection from the
Asthenosphere. The meeting of two plates is called a boundary, there are three types
of boundaries in the world: Convergent Boundaries, Divergent Boundaries. And
Transform Boundaries. In the case of Convergent Boundaries, two plates are pushing
against each other, which can create Deep Ocean Trenches, Huge Mountains, and/or
Volcanic Mountain chains. An example of this happening is the Mariana Trench,
During Convergence, the denser crust, oceanic crust, is subducted below the less
dense crust. If the crusts have the same density then the plates are pushed upwards.
At Divergent Boundaries, the plates are moving away from each other, this can
create Mid Ocean Ridges and Rift Valleys. An example of this happening is the Mid
Atlantic Ridge. At the final boundary, Transform Boundaries, the plates slide the past
one another in the opposite direction, causing shallow earthquakes and offset
features. An example of this Boundary is The San Andreas Fault. While the crust
moves, there are places called Hot spots in which a hot portion of the mantle rises up
beneath the crust for millions of years. An example of this is the Hawaii Island

Ancient Egypt Vs America Essay
When people even mention ancient egypt, loads of things pop up like mummies,
ruins, deaths, chaos, and none reasoning time period. Although in this case we have
the wrong interpretation of how they actually loved their daily life better than
americans do today . How can a lost civilization like ancient Egypt could even
compare to American culture? Not only by how Egyptians had organized social
standards, lifestyle, money, and how women s rights were highly respected in the
eyes of their people and government. Were as Americans are is still having trouble of
picking the next president. Starting off with social standards there were three major
classes of people in ancient Egypt, the upper, middle, and lower. Which is the same

For Americans we had the same thing before the internet it was called a newspaper
which is rarely seen or found around in the city. They had many ways of
communicating but it would take longer like writing letters. Which leads to more
social statuses and who were considered the middle class back then to comparing
the middle class in America. Middle class for ancient Egypt were people who were
traders, merchants, and craftsman. Again if women were in these specific work
ability they were highly more respected than the men in today s society. Compared
today craftsmen depending if they are well known or not are considered only
lower class based on how much money they can actually make, usually a craftsmen
isn t as much respected anymore because it isn t new. Back then anything
considered new they would try to sell and make it better for their people to use
every day. After all they had their own checkerboard back then they called Senet .
The way the game was played is that each player rolled dice and, using sticks would
try to move the board pieces around and eventually off the board, while at the same
time keeping the opposite person playing from accomplishing the same thing. That s
what was considered a job for a craftsman and merchant to provide things like games,
pots, and bowls for everyday
Fall of feudalism paper
10/30/2013 Quarterly Assessment How did Political, Social and Economic events
which occurred during the Middle Ages contribute to the rapid fall of Feudalism and
increase the foundation of nation states? Since politics and social matters are so
closely founded the way that these two subcategories of the middle agesclashed
against the Feudal way of organizing everything in the middle ages are. Politically
kings ruled the way that everyone lived and by doing so this would later on provoke
a tremendous backlash when Peasants learned that they had a say too and that by

The plague had an important role in the decline of Feudalism one of these are as
follows power had to shift from nobles to common people because the demand for
workers (to rebuild the economy) was high but there were less workers than before
the black death the cause is that a majority of them died from sickness, this let the
workers that remained to be able to demand more money and more rights. This
finally resulted in many serfs (A laborer bound to the Feudal system) to leave the
manors and move to cities for more opportunities, therefore completely changing
their daily life from disgusting conditions to somewhat civilized human habitable
conditions. Crusades were a great redemption point in the middle ages these were
military expeditions that derived from the pope and they had one goal, to capture
the Holy Land from the Muslim Turks. These crusades occurred between 1096 and
1272 all failed to win back the holy land from the Muslim Turks, crusades helped
Europeans to build better ships and draw better maps and by doing so they could
manage trade routes much more efficiently and allowing explorers to reach land
much faster and claim it for Europe enhancing the economy with faster trading and
navigation. Crusades drastically accelerated the decline of feudalism because, Feudal
lords spent all the
The Importance Of Honor And Glory In Homer s Iliad
Honour and glory are central to the Greek character. Since heroes are the essence
of the society from which they come, Greek heroes live their lives according to
honour and glory, in all their varied forms. Honour and glory trigger an epic war
that takes the lives of numerous men, and shape its development at every stage. The
fall of Troy is a thing... whose glory shall perish never (Homer, Iliad2.324) . The goal
of the Greeks is the fame that resounds even after death, and they let nothing bar their
way. The honour of the individual, family, and community guide every action and
response. Honour and glory define the hero, and therefore are the foundations for
everything that comes to pass in Homer s Iliad.
The concepts of honor and glory are critical to understanding the motivation of the
heroes in Homer s Iliad1 . Glory was gained by great, heroic actions and deeds and
was conferred upon an individual by others who witnessed and acclaimed the
glorious actions. Major battles provided an opportunity for many to find glory at
once. Honor was similar to glory, but while the public had to view actions and deem
them glorious, each individual maintained their own sense of personal honor which
did not always coincide with honor as defined or perceived by the masses. Honor was
gained through heroism in battle, but also through compelling speechmaking, loyalty
and other noble qualities that a person might demonstrate. Having honor and glory
allowed a Greek to gain influence in
The Sociopath Mr. Ripley Essay
Conceptualize a world in which you have no conscience, no feelings of guilt or
remorse no matter what actions you take no sense of empathy or concern of the
well being of friends, loved ones, or even family members. This is the world of a
sociopath. This is the world of Tom Ripley in Patricia Highsmith s The Talented
Mr. Ripley. Tom develops into an intelligent young man who eventually conjures a
crime spree in Europe. His driving force behind this spree, though the spree may be
sporadic, is freedom. His ability to be independent from a guilty conscience and the
pleasure from concealing a false identity (characteristics of a sociopath) are his
motives behind his acquisition for freedom. We do not know much about Tom s
childhood;... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Tom we see in New York is poor, intelligent, clever, and anti social. He makes
his keep by receiving monthly checks from his Aunt Dottie and gets his kick by
acting as an income tax collector. The title he receives as Collector of Internal
Revenue (18) is the first notion of Tom getting off on a false identity. While in
New York he gets a break from the filthy lifestyle he s leading. The filth is compiled
of the crummy community apartment building and the roommates and residents.
There they all were, mostly Bob s lousy friends, sprawled on his bed, on the floor,
everywhere... The slobs he had thought he had left behind (34). Out of
serendipitous circumstances and Tom s clever, quick intelligence, he gains an
opportunity to mold himself into a position to receive a free ride to Europe. He
plays the part of the friend of Robert (Dickie) Greenleaf while Mr. Greenleaf
(Dickie s father) becomes his audience. Tom went on, getting into the spirit of it.
Dickie showed me some ship models ... Did he ever show you his frame models?
Dickie hadn t, but Tom said brightly, yes! (14) Impersonations become a constant
theme. Starting with the act as an income tax collector to the act as Roberts s friend,
these impersonations escalate throughout. The attention seeking pleasure he receives
from acting out a false identity ends up not being enough. The beginning of his
crime spree and essentially his freedom can be seen in Mongibello, Italy. Not only

Life Changing Event Essay. an experience that changed my life essay

  • 1. Life Changing Event Essay Crafting an essay on the theme of a life-changing event is undeniably a challenging endeavor. The difficulty lies not only in the task of recounting a personal experience that has significantly impacted one's life but also in the delicate balance between introspection and objective narration. It requires a writer to delve deep into their memories, extracting poignant details, and then skillfully translating those experiences into a coherent and engaging narrative. The challenge intensifies as one grapples with the responsibility of articulating the profound emotions associated with such an event. Capturing the essence of transformation, growth, or upheaval demands a keen sense of self-awareness and a mastery of language to convey the complexities of the journey. Striking the right tone, avoiding clichГ©s, and maintaining a sense of authenticity pose additional hurdles. Moreover, the very nature of a life-changing event essay demands introspection and vulnerability, which can be emotionally taxing. Writers may find themselves revisiting moments that are both uplifting and challenging, requiring them to navigate a fine line between revealing personal truths and respecting the privacy of those involved. Additionally, the pressure to create a narrative that stands out among countless others tackling similar themes can be daunting. Originality becomes crucial as writers seek to breathe life into their stories, avoiding generic tropes and delivering a unique perspective that resonates with readers. In conclusion, crafting a compelling essay on a life-changing event requires a delicate blend of emotional intelligence, writing skill, and self-reflection. It is an intricate process that demands time, effort, and a willingness to expose one's vulnerabilities. However, the reward lies in the potential for a deeply resonant and impactful narrative that connects with readers on a profound level. For those seeking assistance with such essays or other writing tasks, various services, including HelpWriting.net, offer professional support. • 2. Love By Christopher Marlowe And The Nymph s Reply To His Love Throughout The Passionate Shepherd to His Love by Christopher Marlowe and The Nymph s Reply to The Shepherd by Sir Walter Raleigh, both of these poets propose opposing viewpoints on love, nature, time, and the material world. Throughout the poems, you can look at how each thing that they say are pretty different from one another. The way that these authors propose their feelings can change the way that you feel towards these things as well. Most of all, their point of views contrast with each other the whole time. Love can be different emotions typically felt in a positive way like the Shepherds view, but also can be negative like the Nymph feels. In the Shepherds poem, love is not possible without nature because all things come from... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Shepherd believes that time strengthens love because the more time he was to spend with the Nymph the more love they would have for one another, If these delights thy mind may move, Then live with me and be my love . He also thinks that time doesn t exist in nature by believing that when you see all the beauties in nature you will forget how much time is going by, By shallow rivers to whose falls Melodious birds sing madrigals . Although, the Nymph believes that time will eventually reveal the truth because she knows that everything he is offering is not gonna last forever, The rest complains of care to come . Also, she believes that time is limited because life is short and you can t enjoy it forever, Time drives the flocks from field to fold . They both have different viewpoints on time and what can happen in the time they have. The material world can be seen as the things that the Shepherd is trying to give to the Nymph to win her over, which she does not think the same way as him about these things. The Shepherd wants to use materialistic things to buy happiness like how he was going to make different things to give to his love, A gown made of the finest wool . He believes that material things are an expression of love because by letting her know he would give her a bed of roses he thinks she will love him because of that, Then live with me
  • 3. A Simple Mathematical Model Of The Underlying Economics The current crisis is catalyzing an array of responses, including searching for causes, reworking regulations, scapegoating and a massive capital injection. Without a clear understanding of the cause, the remedies may do more harm than good, innocents may be scapegoated, and valuable progress in financial tools may be lost. Worse, it will happen again. From a simple mathematical model of the underlying economics, I first predicted this crisis in July of 2004. Economic dynamic relating very low interest rates to the structure of the demand curve in the housing market made this outcome foreseeable, indeed inevitable. The current crisis had a mathematical cause. There isn t space here for full explanations; see... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two central facts are these: for reasons we ll discuss, buyers buy a monthly payment, not a house price, and buyers buy as much house as they can afford. This brings us to the heart of the matter: mortgages that require no down payment, and only interest payments, alter the structure of the demand curve for real estate, in a way that is harmless enough when interest rates are high, but which drives a bubble at low interest rates. Specifically, they make housing prices inversely proportional to the interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half, house prices double. When those rates double, house prices are slashed in half. When interest rates are large, they are not likely to double or halve, but when interest rates are small, a small adjustment can be a big percentage change, and the danger of big swings in housing prices is appreciable, even inevitable. With no down payment, no amortization and closing costs folded into the loan, the only issue in affording a house is the monthly payment, which is the house price multiplied by the interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half, the house you can buy with a given monthly payment costs twice as much. But the same number of people with the same income distribution is competing for a fixed stock of housing. The house price is bid up until the new monthly payment at the new interest rate matches the old monthly payment at the old interest rate. The house price varies inversely
  • 4. My Favorite Dog Essay Owning a dog is a lot of work You have to take them for walks, runs, feed them, cuddle with them, and play with them. Getting a puppy is even more work because you have to train them and get them on schedule. Bulldogs have great personalities. They are cuddly, playful, but are not the best for children unless they grew up around kids. Since I was around 4 years old, I have been around dogs. The first one we had was a English bulldog. He had short, stubby little legs. But we were young, and he would always be knocking us down on our butts. Then we got an american bulldog from my Dad s friend who was moving. She was my favorite dog even though she was lazy most of the time. She would jump onto my bunk bed with me and was always gentle with me. She would always end up being my pillow, and I loved that. So I want to figure out which dog would be better for my lifestyle now. Based on my research and how busy I can get at times, I think it would be better to have a Olde English bulldog puppy because they are more relaxed. It would also be less expensive for me. The price of a bulldog varies because you have to buy breeding rights if you want to breed your dog. I choose to research bulldogs because growing up I had 3 of them, and I would love to have lots of them. The breeds all had very different personalities, and I loved them all, but an Olde English bulldog can cost up to $2,500. For an American bulldog, typically you can expect the cost to average around $1500 $4000

Bligh teaches upper school art with a focus on printmaking. He has shown work in numerous exhibitions, including UNC s Crossover and Composites: Hybrid Forms, Techniques Media, The Color of Thin Air at Sculpture Fix Gallery Two by Two: Small Scale Ceramic Sculpture Biennial at Eastern Washington State and The Future at Scuola Internationale di Grafica in Venice, Italy. Bligh s work has been included in numerous other art shows shown at other locations including The International Print Center New York, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Attleboro ArtsMuseum, the Visual ... Ella Kerner also printed a dress pattern on her book using the press (show picture). Giampaolo Nicosia 19 also utilized the press to put text on his book. The project was a great opportunity for students to begin experimenting with the press and to become more comfortable thinking outside the box and including more creativity in their works. Having a working knowledge of the printing press allows our students to access a tool that is rarely seen at the high school level, said Bligh. By having a printing press our students can experiment with many exciting processes that yield results quickly. Bligh noted that some challenges students may face when learning how to operate the press is the mere fact that he lets them learn the process on their own. Bligh commented on the level of creativity students have reached when utilizing the press this past year. I have seen students use it to quickly transfer text or pattern to a work of art, he said. The students also used it to emboss or add pressure as well as experiment with
  • 6. The Subjects Of Social Class And Status The subjects of social class and status are major concerns in the lives of the characters in Jane Austen s Emma. If one believes the Oxford English Dictionary definitions that consider social status to be [a] person s standing or importance in relation to other people within a society, and social rank to mean [a] division of a society based on social and economic status, we can see that there is a definite difference in meaning that marks an important dichotomy in the novel. While social classis determined by birth and wealth, one s social statusis left up to the people they are surrounded by. As this is the case, while one cannot socialize themselves out of a low social class, one s social status can be determined by the attitudes of their peers, and their perception of character and rank. While some characters seem to support this idea more than others, the relationships between the characters and how they relate to the almost omniscient everybody shows an interesting flexibility in status. An example of this is our lowest class main character, Harriet Smith, who is shown as being pleasantly simple with a lack of tangible sophistication. Through her relationship with Emma, while Harriet remains at the same social class, her status, at least her own mind, is artificially elevated, driving her to try for marriage proposals out of her reach. Mr. Elton reflects some of this in his own way as well, forgoing a marriage with a woman with very little to offer him for a

The results of the simulations of the flow in the form of contour and vector plots for two types of pipe bend both mitre and smooth bend with seven different Reynolds numbers (2.0+E04, 2.5+E04, 3.0+E04, 3.5+E04, 4.0+E04, 4.5+E04 and 5.0+ E04) are presented in this paper. From the obtained results, it is seen that the mitre bend produces more turbulent kinetic energy, eddy viscosity, skin friction factor compared to the smooth bend. To put an emphasis on the smooth bend for different R/D ratios, the static pressure distribution along the inner, outer wall and the pressure loss factor with different Re numbers are analyzed. However, it is noticed that as Re increases the pressure gradient changes rapidly at the inner and the outer wall of the bend. Again, the total pressure loss factor k increases as the R/D ratio decreases and due to higher velocity heads factor k decreases as Re increases. The numerical results are found to be in a good agreement with experimental

Only for the rare few the dream to compete are a reality, but for the billions of other people, this is an event of pride and passion for their home country. The continuous cycle of new cities and different countries hosting the games brings out great nationalism. The challenge to get a bid to host the Olympics has always been difficult but as the cost of the games rises the number of cities vying for it is decreasing. The Olympics are the biggest sporting event in the world, and they are one of the most well known events across the world. Being host to an event like this brings great revenue into a country s economy through tourism and the need for jobs and construction. But the Olympics are becoming very costly and countries are beginning to wonder if its worth it to host the party when they know they will not earn all the money back. The Olympics ruin economies and the games tend to hurt countries more than help them. The games are played every two years alternating between the summer and winter Olympics. I have created a design of a double sided, bi fold, 3 panel brochure. I have learnt the elements and principles of design that are vital to this type of outcome. I have also learnt how to apply the elements of design which can be applied to any digital outcome. Important Elements /Principles of Design There are a variety of elements to be considered while developing a print media outcome. Colour is an important design element when used in print media because it creates visual interest towards the viewer. It determines whether the brochure is noticeable enough. This comes into consideration which is used to determine the quality of a design within print media. Colour can generate emotions as well as depict feeling. Alignment is also an important design element formerly used in print media because it creates a distinct, more orderly design. When aligning elements this allows them to create a visual connection with either font text, images, or shapes. It tightens up the design and eradicates the haphazard. This element prevents items of being randomly placed in a design. Alignment is one of the most basic and important principles of design. It acknowledges us to create order and organisation in a design. Proximity is another important design

However, I have been able to learn more formal theories and ideas that support my definition of leadership. I have always compared leadership to management because though the two are different when it comes down to it, they do share a few similarities. My definition of leadershipthat I referred to throughout this course was: a continuous process where an individual motivates changes and inspires others to achieve a common purpose. This course really confirmed for me that leadership is an ongoing process and one is never done learning how to become a leader. This course made me realize though, how management is good, but good leadership is more important to a company. We look at several studies about how a manager s leadership can influence sales, employee motivation, and so much more. For me, this reinforces my idea that being a manager is just not enough anymore, but one also has to be an inspiring leader for their followers. Leadership is taking what management does a step further by understanding their followers, encouraging growth, and inspiring a way to get there. Finally, this course confirmed for me that there are no set personality traits that make someone a good leader. Instead, there are traits that are common amongst leaders. This does not mean that those who do not possess those traits cannot become leaders, it just mean they may have to work a bit harder than others. Leadership

People in that time, more precisely from the Postclassical Era in the 5th century to the beginning of the Age of Revolutions in the 18th century, strongly relied upon artwork portraying mythological figures, Bible scenes or important events of their daily life. In this assignment I m going to talk about the structure of the main tissues which are found within the body as well as what their role is in the terms of two named organs of the body. Tissues are a collection of similar cells that group together to carry out a specific function within the body. There are four different types of tissue found in the human body which include; epithelial tissue; connective tissue; muscle tissue and nerve tissue. The first type of tissue found in the human body is epithelial tissue. These types of tissue are found covering the whole surface of the body, lining of cavities, hollow organs and tubes. Transitional epithelium is also composed of several layers but is constructive of pear shaped cells instead. This type of tissue is stretchy, meaning it can contract and expand. It is usually found lining the urinary bladder as it allows for stretching as the bladder fills up. The second type of tissue found in the body is connective tissue. They lie beneath the epithelial tissue helping to connect different part of the internal structure, the cells are more widely separated from each other then in epithelial tissue. The intercellular substance known as the matrix is found in considerably large amounts. Within the matrix there are usually fibres which may be a jelly like consistency or dense and rigid depending on the type, function and positioning of the tissue. Theses fibres form a supporting system for cells to attach to. The major functions of connective tissue are to transport materials, give structural support and protection. The types of connective tissue that will be explained are blood, bone, cartilage, bone, areolar tissue and adipose tissue. According to Soviet sports training books I have read, the kinds of training depicted in the movie may very well be accurate. There are only two things that may be a stretch: The first is the use of sparring partners by Drago. The movie depicts Drago pummeling every one of his partners, sending them to the canvas spitting up blood. This, of course, doesn t happen in real life, sparring partners are partners not punching bags. The second thing about Drago s training that is questionable is his use of steroids in the movie. Contrary to popular belief, this was not a wide spread practice and, in fact, it was condemned by the government. Any athlete who was caught doing steroids, or any coach who distributed them, were eliminated from the sports program. Soviet scientists and trainers knew that the use of steroids only provided a quick boost in strength, and that continued use of them would cause extensive injuries to the athlete. In short, the athlete would be injured so much that he would have been able to train harder and achieve maximum performance without the drugs. In the movie s defense though, the scene is relevant in the context that we all thought the Soviets were taking superior drugs thus adding to our fear of them. This movie definitely displayed our thoughts and emotions dealing with the Cold War, right up to the very end. Our sentiments were captured exactly when after the

The U.K. was one of the first countries to go into partnership with the private sector for providing public services. They have been fairly successful in this respect. One of their PPP models is called the Public Finance Initiative (PFI), wherein the government contracts to purchase services on a long term basis from a private provider, who may build, maintain and operate infrastructure. The costs may be met from user charges, along with state subsidies, which are a form of viability gap funding . However while implementing the PFI program, the U.K. government had issued guidelines on the types of projects that needed to be taken up under it. These guidelines stated that PFI is appropriate where there are major and complex capital projects with significant and ongoing maintenance requirements. Here the private sector can offer project management skills, more innovative design and risk management expertise that can bring substantial benefits. In other words it is clear that PPP can be

  • 54. Tectonic Plates The Earth is a very detailed planet; there are many actions going on at once on this planet. The Earth has many boundaries, plates. and layers. The plates beneath our feet mold the world we live in. While very slowly, the plates are indeed moving. There are a few variations to the plates; they have different directions in which they move in relation to separate plates. These changes in plate movement have different side effects, from ocean trenches to miles of mountain ranges. In 1912, a german climatologist, Alfred Wegener proposed that the continents were once joined and made one land mass. He named this super continent Pangaea. He had a lot of evidence to prove that they were once together, but he was missing one key section of information,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each plate is moving a certain direction due to the convection from the Asthenosphere. The meeting of two plates is called a boundary, there are three types of boundaries in the world: Convergent Boundaries, Divergent Boundaries. And Transform Boundaries. In the case of Convergent Boundaries, two plates are pushing against each other, which can create Deep Ocean Trenches, Huge Mountains, and/or Volcanic Mountain chains. An example of this happening is the Mariana Trench, During Convergence, the denser crust, oceanic crust, is subducted below the less dense crust. If the crusts have the same density then the plates are pushed upwards. At Divergent Boundaries, the plates are moving away from each other, this can create Mid Ocean Ridges and Rift Valleys. An example of this happening is the Mid Atlantic Ridge. At the final boundary, Transform Boundaries, the plates slide the past one another in the opposite direction, causing shallow earthquakes and offset features. An example of this Boundary is The San Andreas Fault. While the crust moves, there are places called Hot spots in which a hot portion of the mantle rises up beneath the crust for millions of years. An example of this is the Hawaii Island

Honour and glory trigger an epic war that takes the lives of numerous men, and shape its development at every stage. The fall of Troy is a thing... whose glory shall perish never (Homer, Iliad2.324) . The goal of the Greeks is the fame that resounds even after death, and they let nothing bar their way. Having honor and glory allowed a Greek to gain influence in
