Practical Activity Worksheet
Learners are required to use their knowledge to complete this worksheet. They will have a practical
demonstration prior to doing this worksheet.It will be completed in groups of three learners each.
This worksheet is based in three topics that the learners have covered in school during Natural
Science.
Section 1
1. What specialized organelle is responsible for Photosynthesis in a plant cell?
2. Where in the plant would you find a ribosome?
3. What organelle is responsible for cellular respiration?
4. What organelles are responsible in protein synthesis?
5. Name a type of bacteria that can photosynthesize.
6. Photosynthesis is said to be the reverse of which metabolic process in the body?
7. What is responsible for holding a plant rigidly in the ground?
8. What are the important organs responsible for retaining/keeping air in the body?
9. Green plants are known as what on the food chain?
10. What do we call processes that don’t need air to be complete, and those that need
air to be complete?
Section 2
1. Tabulate four differences between a plant cell and an animal cell.
2. List all requirements (ingredients) for photosynthesis to be successful and complete.
3. List all the requirements (ingredients) for the process mentioned in question 6 of
section 1, to be successful.
Section 3
1. Draw a labeled diagram of your answer in question 1 of section 1.
2. Draw a labeled diagram of the root hair cell structure.
3. Identify each of the diagrams below, and state one function.
