Hepatitis B And Its Effects
Hepatitis B is a genuine liver disease created by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). For some
individuals, hepatitis B contamination gets to be incessant, which means it keeps going over six
months. Having unending hepatitis B builds your danger of creating liver disappointment, liver
disease or cirrhosis which is a condition that causes lasting scarring of the liver. A great number of
people contaminated with hepatitis B as grown ups recuperate completely, regardless of the
possibility that their signs and side effects are extreme. Babies and youngsters will probably build
up a ceaseless hepatitis B contamination (MayoClinic).
Hepatitis C contamination additionally expands the danger of creating liver disease just like
hepatitis B. Until the 1980 s, hepatitis C virus (HCV) was known as non A non B hepatitis. The
underlying disease may have side effects, yet a critical number of individuals don t have side
effects. Not at all like hepatitis B, in which the ailment does not frequently get to be constant, have
around 80% of individuals with hepatitis C built up an endless disease. As the invulnerable
framework keeps on assaulting the infection after some time, fibrosis grows, in the end prompting
cirrhosis. This unending aggravation can likewise prompt liver growth. This infection is spread
through tainted blood, for example, with transfusions and IV drug misuse, however numerous
individuals don t have evident danger components for the sickness. It is currently suggested that

Similarities Between Emma And Homa
Emma dreams of being in the noble class, something she could accomplish by her doctor husband
who she then manipulate to get what she wants. We see this even in the pharmacist HomaГЇs who
tries to brag up the social pyramid and look up to strong nobility. Like Emma [Purchaser] HomaГЇs
two urchica pompadourstil statuettes to adorn his drawing room (s.325) to be greater and seem
rich. HomaГЇs have the typical bourgeois mentality of the author conveys the bourgeois principles,
to be like nobility. The difference between these two is that Emma as a woman must reach this
status by her husband while HomaГЇs alone can achieve nobility. By Emma and HomaГЇs
consumerism mocks Flaubert bourgeoisieneed for the pleasure of buying things.

This we can see in Charles s mother, she controls his life and live their own dreams through him,
something that probably even Emma would do if she had a son. The thought of giving birth to a
male creature was like a revenge for all her disappointed expectations and a hope for the future
(p.91). In this powerful quote we see her disappointment at being a woman in the bourgeoisie
because of the lack of freedom. The woman is pinioned and lives by man. Emma becomes a mother
from turning because of this. She baptized her daughter by a woman she met at the marquis prom
and this suggests Emma fixation of the nobility.
An important aspect of Flaubert s criticism is that Emma and HomaГЇs are similar in that they both
want to be like the nobility and both like art, Emma plays the piano, read poetry, and like to write,
HomaГЇs writing a book, but they still contrasts with each other strong. The author argues then that
even if they are as successful as the ridiculous pharmacist HomaГЇs while Emma struggling to fail
because she is a woman in a patriarchal society. Gycklaren HomaГЇs receive the Legion of Honor
and Emma takes her life. This suggests the author of injustice that the selfish survive while the

The Civil Rights Movements in Ireland and America Essay
Fall Road is deserted. Only a few dirt caked, barefoot, Irishmen can be seen shivering in the
adjacent park. We walk past the Catholic neighborhoods knowing, at any moment, buildings might
explode and automatic weapon fire could lacerate the air on every side of us. Belfast is charming,
apart from the harsh reality of guerrilla warfare and terrorism being common occurrences. For the
first time, throughout my three month tour of seventeen different European countries, I feel truly
threatened. The tension carries itself into a nearby pub where an old man asks Are you jus daft?
Or do ya have relatives here? His words hinted at my grandfather s blunt, yet kindly, expression
concerning his birthplace in N. Ireland, If you... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
England stole much of
Ireland s homeland and gave it to the Protestants allies from Scotland. Earlier this century, England
divided Ireland into two, claiming the six northernmost counties as its own. The large number of
Protestants, who remain loyal to the
Crown of England, have created a system of oppression similar to the Jim Crow laws of the US.
Oppression and second class citizenship have limited the
Catholics of N. Irelands opportunities and taken many lives. A Civil Rights movementwas the only
logical step. But first, we must discuss what lead up to this logical step the history. In January
1919, the Anglo Irish War began with the first shots being fired at Solobeghead. Over the next year,
the Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC
British Loyalists) became the target of a Sinn Fein (The beginning roots of the
IRA) terror campaign By mid 1919, the IRB (Irish Republican Brotherhood Part of
Sinn Fein) had infiltrated the leadership of the Volunteers (Irish Militia) and were directing its
pace on the violence. In an effort to assert control of the group, Volunteers declared the Army of
the Irish Republic. Britain responded with violence. Special forces were sent over to impose
curfews and martial law on the Irish. These forces became known as the Black and
Tans after a popular Limerick hunt group, and because of their dark green and khaki uniforms.
Another force of veterans from the Great War, called the
Auxiliaries, joined them.

European Court of Justice
Introduction:
We have chosen to write this assignment on the European Court of Justice (ECJ), looking into its
role in the European integration process, and how its rulings and judgments have affected the
business framework. We will also be looking into the effects of its rulings on state sovereignty, and
how in some cases its rulings have limited states power over certain policy areas and handed them
to the European Union. We will start by looking at the radical jurisprudence of the European court of
justice, and what political reactions have arisen to that, and how that has changed/affected the
integration process. To get a better understanding, we will incorporate the use of neo functionalism
and rational choice new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main reason behind the spillover effect is increased effectiveness. Two important spillovers
here are functional and political. This allows institutions to expand their activities to areas not
under their jurisdiction/mandate so they can function more effectively. In cases regarding free
trade there is bound to be an increasing amount of spillover, due to the wide ranging nature of
the economic issues, especially on issues such as trade barriers and tariffs. This has been evident
from the verdict in the case of Cassis de Dijon which we will return to later on. Based on various
rulings the ECJ could be seen as an active promoter of the spillover effect.
In the Maastricht treaty the principle of subsidiarity was incorporated into the treaty, which the
British government pushed for. The reason for this was to limit the transfer of power from the
member states to the EU institutions. The decisions should be taken at the lowest possible level,
closest to the citizen. However, the concept of subsidiarity remains to be defined clearly, and thus
holds immense ambiguity. As a consequence, subsidiarity can be used as an argument both by those
who desire greater autonomy for member states and by those who want the EU to become a
federation.
Neofunctionalism argues that actors, whether

I Survived Tsunami Essay
The title of my novel is I Survived The Japanese Tsunami. It is written by Lauren Tarshis. Lauren
Tarshis has written multiple I Survived books by now, and this one was definitely one of my
favorites. The genre of this novel is nonfiction it was a true story about a boy named Ben and his

child, very brave, and loved to play basketball. They d been at the basketball courts across from
their house (Tarshis 21). The antagonist of the story is the tsunami because the tsunami was
fighting against the protagonist, Ben and causing harm to his family. The Japanese Tsunami, was a

Integrating Paul s Letter To Biblical Hermeneutics
a.Distantiation In order for us to bring Pauls letter to the church in Rome and context into contact
with the Lutheran community in Marapyane, our distantiation will have to be not just expanding,
but also be making use of or adopting the three steps of biblical hermeneutics as expounded by both
Jonathan Draper and Gerald West. Draper call the first step to this approach the distantiation, it is in
this step that we will try to allow the text to speak for itself without falling into the temptation of
speaking on texts behalf. According to Draper distantiation allows the text to talk while the reader
becomes the listener (Draper 2001:155) According to West, attention to the text must be given the
priority and not too much on the attitude

The Miami Vice Fad
Regardless of when this question has been posed to me, without giving much thought I quickly
revert to the late eighties, and the Miami Vice fad. It is unfortunate that I cannot say with
certainty, just how widespread, the fad was, or now that I review, whether, the fad was a fad or a
trend, because, I don t know exactly how long the popularity of this style began. Per Bruce Cohen
(2013) a fad is something that spikes and wanes, where a trend sort of simmers and gradually
becomes popular.
I recall receiving a shipment of suits, regardless of the owner s intent for the suit, I immediately
envisioned the Miami Vice look, which included a variation of Stacy Adams footwear, and short
sleeve tee shirts. My first sale of the ensemble interrupted my completing the actual display; and the
sales continued. I can literally say that repeat sales were made from that purchase as one told a
friend, and so, on, and so on. I was impressed, excited and amazed at the demand.
Again, I can only speak for the success of the shop where I was ... Show more content on

There were attempts to push the envelope at times in attempts to gain even bigger bargains to the
sale price.
Finally, the usual shortage where we scrambled to meet demand, turned to surplus, which moved us
to either return suits to the main store, or to shop around to find which store(s) continued to
experience the demand.

Carole King is a musical icon in the world of 20th century popular music, and her longevity and
success as an artist have cemented her as one of the influential musicians out of every genre of
music. In this essay, I will examine how her musical style and female identity each played roles
her incredibly successful musical career. Carole King was originally named Carole Klein when
she was born in New York City on February 9, 1942 [1]. An accomplished pianist by age 10,
Carole began songwriting in her early teens [1]. Shortly after, she helped form a quartet called the
Co Sines and created her stage name, Carole King [1]. While attending Queens College, King met

Vincent L. Harris
Webster University
Abstract
All indications are that Operation Shady RAT (Remote Access Tool) started in 2006 although it
went undetected for several years before begin discovered by analysts at McAfee Incorporated in
2011. Originally it was thought that the tools and techniques used during Operation Shady RAT
were highly complex later investigations determined that the exploits used were previously
identified and software vendors has published appropriate mitigation procedures to protect
computers and networks from unauthorized access. The range of countries and businesses targeted
during the operation highlights the importance of proper patching and vulnerability management
policies. Operation Shady RAT differed from many other cybercrimes by not specifically targeting
computer systems for financial gain; it appears that the perpetrators were after trade secrets and
intellectual property. There are differing opinions on the severity and complexity methods used to
compromise the computer systems by security vendors McAfee and Kaspersky but those whose
information was accessed without proper authorization will attest to the significance of the
compromises. There has been no attribution for the perpetrators of Operation RAT.
A 2011 report by McAfee revealed a five year history of compromised computer systems that they
deemed Operation Shady RAT . Operation Shady

Reflection On Child Development
When i evaluate my school year many things come to mind i think about friends,i think about the
highs and lows, i also think about how much i grew. my 7th grade year at cms was full of concepts
learned,memorable experiences, and personal growth.
Concepts learned. In mrs.sanchez 5th period class we learned about sexual reproduction with
grasshoppers. We learned about the genes and what sexual reproductionmeans. Sexual
reproduction means a genetic material from 2 parents combined to make a new organism. And
also meiosis sperm an egg during chromosomes the pairs separate. A fun memory i had these
days we re working with my group and they would think it was weird everytime they say sexual
reproduction.we also learned that chromosomes theory of inheritance genes are carried from
parents to their offspring on chromosomes. A question me and my group had was why do they
travel in pairs? we never answered it. We also learned about mendel s work. Mendel s work
showed that the dominant alleles don t come up as present when another is present. Each human
has 23 chromosomes. And grasshoppers have 24 chromosomes which is just 12 pair. Some more
questions my group had was do other insects have more chromosomes? And can more than half of
a parent s chromosomes go to its offspring? And before we started we had to write down a question
and it was what is mendel s work? sutton hypothesize that chromosomes were the key to
understanding how offspring have traits similar to those of the

the protection of the public. The NMC s revised code became effective in 2015, the code sets out
standards for good practice and behaviour that all nurses and midwives adhere to. The new Code
puts patients and service users at the heart of practice with the intention of better protecting the
public. (Nmc.org.uk, 2015). The SSSC provides both social care workers and employers with
codes of practice, these codes provide guidance and standards to which workers and employers
should meet. Forming from the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001, the SSSC was

Jerome David Salinger Research Paper
Jerome David Salinger, more commonly known as J. D. Salinger, was an American author and
novelist. Despite leading a highly reclusive lifestyle and having only a narrow body of work,
Salinger is seen as a literary giant. While his short stories inspired many famous authors, his
controversial 1951 work, The Catcher in the rye, has become a landmark novel and a household
name. Salinger was born in New York City on New Year s Day, 1919 to Sol and Miriam Salinger.
His father, Sol, was a successful Kosher cheese and meat importer of Jewish and Lithuanian
descent. Miriam (born Marie nГ©e Jillich), his mother, was Scotch Irish but later converted to

Young readers around the world could relate to many of the themes and issues in the novel.
Today The Catcher in the Rye has sold over 60 million copies and continues to sell around a
quarter million each year. It has become a staple for most school curriculums in the US and UK.
The widespread success of his novel pushed Salinger to long for privacy. He refused as many
interviews as possible and even had his photo removed from the back covers of each book. To
escape the public eye he fled to England for two months. In 1953, only two years after the
release of The Catcher in the Rye, Salinger packed his things and moved to a 90 acre property in
Cornish, New Hampshire. His new home had no running water, electricity, or working
telephone. During this time he did everything in his power to isolate himself from the public and
his literary output came to an abrupt halt. In a rare 1962 interview with The New York Times
Salinger said Publishing is a terrible invasion of my privacy. I like to write. I love to write. But I

Ideal Of The American Ideal
The American Ideal
If approval replaced dedication as creativity s fuel, this world
Would be barren, empty, decidedly less lovely. Jen Hatmaker In his will, newspaper publisher
Joseph Pulitzer specified that a $1,000 prize be awarded each year for the American novel;
published during the year which shall best present the whole atmosphere of American life, and the
highest standards of American manners and manhood (6). However, in 1917, the president of
Columbia University and Pulitzer advisory board leader Nichols Murray Butler changed the
wording of the criteria to read the wholesome atmosphere of American life (7); and by so doing,
limited the scope of what literature was deemed acceptable for consideration of the honor.
Subsequently, in 1921, the Pulitzer Prize for fiction was awarded to a novel about New York high
society during the 1870s and controversy soon followed. In a June 22, 1921 article in The New
Republic, one of the judges that year, literary scholar Robert Morse Lovett, wrote that the winner,
Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton, had not been the jury s choice (6). The panel of judges,
which included Lovett as well as a literature professor and a novelist, had instead selected Sinclair
Lewis s Main Street, a novel Lovett described using the words of his fellow juror Stuart Pratt
Sherman, as having communicated more life to the reading public than any other novel I can

Historical Significance Of Invictus
Invictus is a historical film that takes place during post apartheid South Africa. It was directed by
Clint Eastwood and starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon. The film is based on John Carlin
s book, Playing the enemy: Nelson Mandela And Game That Made A Nation. It is mainly about
Rugby World Cup in 1995 in South Africa. Even though apartheid is over, there is a racial tension
within the society. However, Nelson Mandela, along with the captain of rugby team, Francois
Pienaar, tried to solve this by hoping for successful game. Most of the scenes in the film creatively
demonstrate the historical significance in an era of post apartheid. According to the film, Nelson
Mandela became the first democratic president in South Africa in 1994. Apartheid laws were
dismantled, but both white and black people did not get along, which was concerning for Mandela.
Knowing the Rugby World Club was taken in South Africa, Mandela believed this sport event will
successfully unite people together even though the Springboks team symbolized white supremacy.

Mandela mentioned that the poem affected him in a positive way as he never gave up on being

of things. For instance, we respect our people despite the color skins in order to keep justice going
and be satisfied as humans. Also, the film is not only focusing on the sport but the relationship
between justices and discriminations within the society. In my opinion, Mandela was the hard
working, inspiring president in South Africa as his treatments toward his society were the examples
of the justice. Overall, this film is highly recommended for

Universal Design For Learning Essay
I chose to read an article about Universal Design for Learning. This was a learning theory that I
had not heard about before. This theory covers a wide range of learning styles for children along
with multiple strategies. The Universal Design for Learning Theory ensures that students are
provided with a variety of engaging strategies in order to best meet each student s individual needs.
A large component of Universal Design for Learning is text comprehension. This theory
understands that comprehension doesn t just come after reading a selection of text, but takes time
and will grow after students develop more maturity, socialize with others and gain more schema.
Students are encouraged to make connections through a wide range of methods.
In order to increase their text to text connections, students are encouraged to bring in books from
home that align with what they are learning, create compare/contrast diagrams, debate over two
similar books and compare books in literature ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the past, I have been a little confused with how to best teach my students comprehension. This
article has opened a window toward personal professional understanding in the area of teaching
reading comprehension. While reading this article I was surprised to find such a variety of ways
to make each type of connection. Many of which are fairly easy and can be done in a timely
manner. I will make it a professional goal to provide my students with more of these opportunities
to connect with what we are learning. If I am able to successfully integrate some of these activities
in my classroom, I know my students will greatly benefit from the exposure. They will become
more independent and informed worldly thinkers. All I have to do is assist each child in
overcoming their barriers, and they can all become better readers, thinkers, writers, listeners and

Analysis Of The Poem The Angel Of The House
The Angel in the House
During the Victorian Era in 1837 the period that was ruled by Queen Victoria I, women endured
many social disadvantages by living in a world entirely dominated by men. Around that time most
women had to be innocent, virtuous, dutiful and be ignorant of intellectual opinion. It was also a
time associated with prudishness and repression. Their sole window on the world would, of course,
be her husband. During this important era, the idea of the Angel in the House was developed by
Coventry Patmore and used to describe the ideal women who men longed. Throughout this period,
women were treated inferior to men and were destined to be the husbands Angel in the House .
The poem Coventry Patmore is written from the husband s point of view; Patmore even praises
women throughout the poem. His praise for women only relates to his ability to benefit men.
Women are part of the poem but she is not there to be heard. The reader is meant to see her
through her husband s eyes. Patmore considers women inferior to men and stated that their only
purpose is to aid their husbands. Yet, Patmore holds his angel wife up as a model for all women.
Their objectification of women was customary for extraordinarily complex age and is a consistent
theme in Victorian poetry.
Education was not equal between the sexes and neither between the classes. Gentlemen were

What are the home remedies for eczema, and what is eczema? Eczema (dermatitis) is an
inflammation of the skin that causes itching, redness and discomfort. If the eczema is a chronic
problem, the skin will continue to itch and become thick like leather. Usually dry scales
develop, and the skin s color may change. Eczema is very common and affects one in twelve
people. Eczema usually first appears in early childhood and tends to disappear when the child
grows up. However, it can resurface at a later stage, and can also affect an adult who hasn t
previously suffered. There are kinds types of eczema. The main ones are contact eczema, caused

Importance Of Money In The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby was published during the nineteen twenties by the author Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald
the author lived in the United States during this time period. In this time, the world at this time had
just gone through the First World War and the economy was rising and the America was changing
from a rural farm based nation to a more an urban based nation. During this time the really
important events that shaped the society were the ban on Alcohol, the Great African American
migration and this new idea of the American Dream where wealth was really important. The
understanding of the time period in which the Great Gatsbywas written contributes to the reader s
understanding of the themes within the Great Gatsby by showing the importance of money and
the empty pursuit of pleasure has led to the corruption of the American Dream. To begin with, in
this time period the idea of old wealth meaning people who ve had a generational rich and new
wealth both showing the importance of money have been emerging contributes to the
understanding of a theme in Great Gatsby which was an era of decayed social and moral values
and in some cases intellectual . For instance, Tom, in the upper class, the husband of Daisy is
one example of how the importance of money has shown how this is an era of decayed social and
moral values because of Money he doesn t have a deep meaningful relationship with Daisy instead

Comparing Media Images Of Criminological Research Essay
iii.Comparing Media Images to Criminological Research
The superhero genre is so popular and influential that many studies have been done on its
depictions of the groups and the impact it has on a large part of society how it has become a
staple on film, television, and in video games (Darowski). The genre is so influential in fact,
that it dates back all the way to the Ancient Greeks, and possibly even further (Haynes). Every
group in history has had their mythologies and epic tales of crime fighters, they just did not call
them superheroes. For example, Achilles only had one weakness (his heel) and was by the
Greeks definition, considered a hero (greek gods.org). The same goes for heroes like Perseus,
Theseus, and even Heracles. Back then though instead of being changed into a super soldier in a
lab by a German scientist or creating a flying metal suit in the desert, these heroes were part god
which explained their extra ordinary abilities. Super crime fighters have always existed, but when
comic books began in the 19th century a new set of rules was created to guide their content to be
more appropriate than the Greek tales (Coville).
The Comics Code was a list of regulations regarding the depiction of certain events in comic books
maintained by the Comics Magazine Association of America (Nyberg). The code was very strict
and eventually challenged by Stan Lee (one of the creators of Marvel) through a story arc in the
Spiderman Comics that dealt with drug abuse.

Television Violence Essay
Television violence and its effects on viewers has been a controversial issue for many years. Some
viewers believe that there is an increasingly large amount of violence on television and this
widespread public concern has quot;led to calls for stricter controls on the depiction of violence in
programmes quot; (Gunter and McAleer 1990:92). Exactly how much violence is there on
television though?
Many cultivation theorists have studied this, acquiring data in the form of content analysis. They
agree on a definition of a violent act, for example Gerbner in his study used the definition, quot;an
overt expression of physical force against self or other, compelling action against ones will on pain
of being hurt or killed, or actually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is clearly obvious from the research already done concerning television and its effects, that
violence is quite prevalent on British television. Of more concern however is the effect that those
can have on its viewers. Does the violence on television really increase the violent attitudes and
behaviour in individuals? Violence on television can do one of three things. The first is make us
more violent (Huesmann 1982), the second is make us less violent (Feshbach 1972) and the third
is to have no effect at all (Freedman 1984, Kaplan and Singer 1976). Most evidence has supported
the first argument namely that television violence does increase our own violent behaviour. There
are four main effects that cause this violent behaviour when viewing it on television.
The first of these affects is arousal. It is believed that a violent programme increases levels of
arousal and thus causes us to become more violent as we are not only excited by the programme
but also agitated and nervous. This effect is not limited to violent programmes however, as a
comedy programme may induce arousal in the form of amusement in the same way as a violent
programme induces arousal in the form of anger. It is the type of arousal that occurs in the first
place that determines the effect the programme has. Condry (1989:11) found that suspense

`` True Freedom `` By Langston Hughes
America is known as the land of the free, but is anyone really free? One might view freedom as
abolished slavery, but true freedom gives one the ability to make choices and act on decisions. True
freedom might be gained through lessons learned from history, from accomplishing and seeing
dreams become reality, or from standing up for beliefs. Langston Hughes, an American poet known
for his writing during the Harlem Renaissanceperiod said, In all my life, I have never been free. I
have never been able to do anything with freedom, except in the field of my writing. (citation). As a
young African Americanman, Hughes faced man obstacles, but writing gave him a sense of
freedom of expression. His poetry reached people of various social,... Show more content on

People of all nations and beliefs have the right to experience freedom from injustice and to live
in peace and equality no matter what they look like or believe. In the line, I ve seen its muddy
bosom turn all golden in the sunset, (cite) Hughes use of the words muddy bosom symbolizes
brown skin. Although some may not see the beauty in the muddiness, rivers can turn golden or
beautiful in the sunset. If people would take the time to get to know others and not judge them
by their outward appearance, they could see the beauty within the soul. Like rivers, people have
a past that helped shape them. Each person, like a river has deep roots, perseverance, and a need
for freedom and understanding. Rivers are confined by land as people are confined by laws, but
just as rivers can change course, people can change society. Langston Hughes, like the rivers in
The Negro Speaks of Rivers, preserved in the face of adversity as he forged new streams of thought.
In Harlem, another example of the struggle for true freedom is represented as Langston Hughes
questions, What happens to a dream deferred? (cite) Hughes explores the reality of what happens to
people when they are unable to accomplish

Analyzing and Interpreting Data
The ultimate goal of descriptive statistics is to describe a set of data, identify patterns, and draw a
conclusion, which enables an organization to make effective and informed decisions (McClave,
Benson, Sincich, 2011). The company, Ballard Integrated Managed Services (BIMS), a support
services company will leverage statistics to gather information on the company s employees to
analyze and identify patterns. The goal of this research project is to determine the reason for the

Second, questions one through ten qualify as ordinal data because of the relative rankings without
consistent distances. Finally, the time worked for BIMS qualifies as ratio level data because it is
easily ordered, consistent differences and zero is meaningful (McClave, Benson, Sincich, 2011).
Each level of data has unique characteristics, which dictate the way the information is calculated,
summarized, and presented.
Coding and Cleaning the Data
Coding the data is a systematic way in which data is condensed into smaller easily analyzed units
(Lockyer, 2004). By coding the surveys received by BIMs it enables the company to analyze and
interpret the data to draw an informed conclusion. The coding enables the research team to
identify mistakes, and outliers, which improves the data s validity (Lockyer, 2004). To code
BIMS data, the surveys must be numbered, and all corresponding data must be manually entered
into Microsoft Excel, which increases the cost, time, and risk. The data is at risk of being entered
incorrectly. Next, the raw data must be cleaned to ensure validity, relevancy, and accuracy. After
the data was imported into Excel, the data must be reviewed for mistakes. One error that was
identified was that a six was entered into Excel even though a five was observed. By coding and
cleaning the data, the researcher will proactively identify errors or outliers while enabling a
computer to complete statistical analysis and

The Pros And Cons Of North Korea Labor Camps
Did labor camps end in 1945? Or, did the world just lose the interest of what is happening
globally? In 2014, an increase of interest of North Korea concentration camps trended all over
social media. Citizens worldwide noticed North Korea is the only country you can t see street
views on google earth. This just makes the argument bigger about North Koreadenying that these
labor camps exist. After all the evidence and memoirs of North Koreans that have escaped from
these labor camps, the real question is should the United States intervene?
One of the top solutions is for the United States to intervene and liberate all the North Korean
prisoners ( How Did We Get Here? A Timeline of the North Korean Nuclear Threat ). For
example, Kim IL Sung laid down the law in 1972, Enemies of class, whoever they are, their seed
must be eliminated through three generations. (Harden, Page #6) Kim is saying that he wants his
country to be made up of pure, loyal people and wants to kill off the rest. This is why the United
States needs to intervene and go to war with North Korea. We can t let hundreds and thousands of
people be killed, starved, or tortured; it goes against all human rights. The benefits of going to war
would be liberating hundreds and thousands of North Korean prisoners, we would have control of
North and South Korea if the U.S. won and we would be eliminating a dictator who is a major
threat as of 2013 ( How potent are North Korea s threats? ). Or, the United

Starbucks cups, church bulletins, and Bounty paper towels. Bounty paper products, napkins and
paper towels, show up on the record 24 times, suggesting that Bounty paper products are used over
three times per day, corresponding with meals. Other brands that show up in the sample often
include Green Giant, four times, Kroger Brand, twelve times. Within the Kroger brand items there
are six plastic ziploc bags, this suggests that the people who live in this home either take their
lunch to work or school, or pre package their snacks at home into serving sizes. The two church
bulletins, and church offering envelopes, suggest that both members of the household went to
church once the week they took their trash sample. Another interesting item thrown away was an
old Tommy Hilfiger brand shirt. The members of this household make enough money to throw
away old clothes, suggesting that they live comfortably. We also can tell what bank they use

Aboriginal Women Research Paper
Aboriginal women face disproportionate challenges throughout their incarceration which impacts
their successful community reintegration. Over the last ten years, inmate assaults involving
Aboriginal women have exponentially grown, almost doubling, while use of force incidents have
more than tripled. Rates of self injury involving incarcerated Aboriginal women are seventeen times
higher than that of non Aboriginal women. To agree with Baldry, Carlton, and Cunneen, using
Indigenous women as a focus point is beneficial because their experiences embody and exemplify
the intersections between colonial and neocolonial oppression and the multiple sites of gender and
disadvantage and inequality that stem from patriarchal domination. Cunneen highlights that
Indigenous women actually live in many prisons ; the prisonof misunderstanding; the prison of
misogyny; and the prison of disempowerment. Patricia Monture insists that one way women can
resist oppression and facilitate social change is by telling their own stories. The Task Force for
Federally Sentenced Women developed a report called Creating Choices, which attempted to
relocate the power to make choices in womens lives out of the hands of prison officials and back
to the women themselves because, according to the findings of the Task Force, it is only when
people are treated with respect and when they are empowered can they take responsibility for their
actions and make meaningful decisions. Monture Okanee reflects on the irony of the final report...

How Technology Has Changed Modern Society
Today as individuals we have many privileges, rights, and freedoms that have not existed in the
past. In modern society, many things are handed to us where as in the traditional society people
had to work very hard and face many hurdles in order to do everyday tasks. The technology has
changed drastically from back then to now present year s new technologyand devices are constantly
being created to make our lives easier. However in the traditional society people had only a few
options of ways to communicate with each other. Modern cultureseems to be influenced a lot by
social media and whatever the new current trend is. Whereas traditional culture is more
conservative followed by morals and religious practices. Prices of housing living and food have
all increased fairly in our modern day society. Decades ago people did not have many expenses to
account, for now, we have daycares all kinds of insurance payments and tuition to try to afford.
When you compare modern day society with the way traditional society was you can see some
major differences.
Technology has been around for many years and throughout those years it s advancing. Both
modern and traditional technology is viewed in different but our similar is some ways.Technology
is the use of tools and machine to get the job done. Modern technology is just an advanced version
of the traditional technology. For instance, the gadgets we use today like a smartphone is just an

Pedagogy
French, 2007 defines pedagogy as the practice or craft of teaching in the interactive process between
teachers and learners and the learning environment which includes family and the community.
Under Siolta, the national quality framework it is defined as the range of interactions to support the
holistic development of children by embracing both care and education within settings.
Denmark has a strong historical background in relation to the training of early care and education
practitioners. The first training programme was implemented in 1885 for those working from the
frobelian approach in education; this formed a basis for the two year study programme
implemented in 1904. In 1992, an integrated training system was established to combine theory
with practice. Those training to be social pedagogues complete three and a half year degree

working with pre primary classes having the appropriate qualification bachelor of education. In

Then from 1496 1498, while in Rome, he produced Bacchus , his first large scale sculpture and
one of his few pagan works. At about the same time, he also produced one of his most famous
works of art, the Pieta , which was finished before he was 25. In the Pieta he shows his influences
from fifteenth century artists such as Donatello, while also combining them with the new
Renaissance style(cgfa). It depicts the Virgin Mary seated majestically holding the dead Christ
across her lap. Furthermore, this is his only signed piece of work ever. And is so because he
overheard a pilgrim say that Cristoforo Solari created it. So that night in a fit of rage,
Michelangelo inscribed MICHEL ANGELUS BONAROTUS FLORENT FACIBAT , saying

Explain How Is Iago A Sociopath
Raya Tarawneh
5/3/16
Is Iago a Sociopath? One of Shakespeare s most acclaimed works, Othello, delves into a wide range
of themes. The play tackles issues of race, gender and encompasses ideas of jealousy and deceit.
Shakespeare also brings to life a variety of well constructed characters. Iago, the deceitful
antagonist, can easily be identified as the liveliest and most complex character in the play. His
devious nature raises the question of whether or not he is a sociopath. Sociopathy is a mental
disorder in which an individual s moral depravity poses a threat to society. The Psychopathy
Checklist, commonly known as the PCL, constructed a list of criteria used to diagnose sociopaths.
These criteria vary from irresponsibility ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The PCL refers to sociopaths as having superficial charm and glibness , both of which Iago
possesses. When asked by Othello to recap the events of the quarrel, Iago says I had rather have
this tongue cut from my mouth/ Then it should do offence to Michael Cassio (2.3.205 206). In
saying so, Iago comes off to Othello as both honest and loyal, most definitely charming him and
covering up the fact that it was Iago himself who intentionally set up the quarrel in order to
become lieutenant. In document A, conning others for personal profit or pleasure is said to be
usual of sociopaths. This is easily applicable to Iago s character, who for the sake of becoming
lieutenant and destroying Othello, manages to deceive several characters in the play and ends
up being the cause of Roderigo, Desdemona, Emilia and Othello s deaths. Once again, placing
Iago and Ani Korban side by side affirms Iago s sociopathy. Ani Korban praises his psychiatrist
by referring to him/her as one of the most astute and erudite persons he has ever met .

their lives. Cultures are so diverse that normal habits done on a regular basis in one culture may be
considered taboo in another culture. This essay will discuss how the Japanese culture differs from
my culture, and it will also examine the importance of studying another culture.
First, I want to cover some of the major differences between the Japanese culture and my own,
and then get to some of the smaller differences. The first major difference is the religion;
Buddhism and Shintoism make up 84% of the Japanese religion. The item that intrigued me was
the fact that religion in Japan is more of a set of rules and rituals to follow now and then. There
is not much daily involvement in religion like there is in America; whether it is Christian,
Catholic, or Muslin, each religion involves prayer and worship to a certain degree on more of
daily or weekly basis. Next, the Japanese food is much different. Most Japanese meals have rice in
some form or another and the Japanese generally eat with chopsticks. When eating at a restaurant
there are many differences to consider. A wet towel is given to a customer when he is first seated
at a restaurant to wash his hands. When sushi is the meal it is acceptable to eat use hands and not
chop sticks. When eating noodles, it is acceptable to make slurping noises. When you are finished
with your meal it is not expected that you tip the

Like Emma [Purchaser] HomaГЇs two urchica pompadourstil statuettes to adorn his drawing room (s.325) to be greater and seem rich. HomaГЇs have the typical bourgeois mentality of the author conveys the bourgeois principles, to be like nobility. This we can see in Charles s mother, she controls his life and live their own dreams through him, something that probably even Emma would do if she had a son. The thought of giving birth to a male creature was like a revenge for all her disappointed expectations and a hope for the future (p.91). In this powerful quote we see her disappointment at being a woman in the bourgeoisie because of the lack of freedom. The woman is pinioned and lives by man. Emma becomes a mother from turning because of this. She baptized her daughter by a woman she met at the marquis prom and this suggests Emma fixation of the nobility. An important aspect of Flaubert s criticism is that Emma and HomaГЇs are similar in that they both want to be like the nobility and both like art, Emma plays the piano, read poetry, and like to write, HomaГЇs writing a book, but they still contrasts with each other strong. The author argues then that even if they are as successful as the ridiculous pharmacist HomaГЇs while Emma struggling to fail because she is a woman in a patriarchal society. We walk past the Catholic neighborhoods knowing, at any moment, buildings might explode and automatic weapon fire could lacerate the air on every side of us. Belfast is charming, apart from the harsh reality of guerrilla warfare and terrorism being common occurrences. For the first time, throughout my three month tour of seventeen different European countries, I feel truly threatened. The tension carries itself into a nearby pub where an old man asks Are you jus daft? Or do ya have relatives here? His words hinted at my grandfather s blunt, yet kindly, expression concerning his birthplace in N. Ireland, If you... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... England stole much of Ireland s homeland and gave it to the Protestants allies from Scotland. Earlier this century, England divided Ireland into two, claiming the six northernmost counties as its own. The large number of Protestants, who remain loyal to the Crown of England, have created a system of oppression similar to the Jim Crow laws of the US. Oppression and second class citizenship have limited the Catholics of N. Irelands opportunities and taken many lives. A Civil Rights movementwas the only logical step. But first, we must discuss what lead up to this logical step the history. In January 1919, the Anglo Irish War began with the first shots being fired at Solobeghead. Over the next year, the Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC British Loyalists) became the target of a Sinn Fein (The beginning roots of the IRA) terror campaign By mid 1919, the IRB (Irish Republican Brotherhood Part of Sinn Fein) had infiltrated the leadership of the Volunteers (Irish Militia) and were directing its pace on the violence. In an effort to assert control of the group, Volunteers declared the Army of the Irish Republic. Britain responded with violence. Special forces were sent over to impose curfews and martial law on the Irish. These forces became known as the Black and Tans after a popular Limerick hunt group, and because of their dark green and khaki uniforms. Another force of veterans from the Great War, called the Auxiliaries, joined them. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. European Court of Justice Introduction: We have chosen to write this assignment on the European Court of Justice (ECJ), looking into its role in the European integration process, and how its rulings and judgments have affected the business framework. We will also be looking into the effects of its rulings on state sovereignty, and how in some cases its rulings have limited states power over certain policy areas and handed them to the European Union. We will start by looking at the radical jurisprudence of the European court of justice, and what political reactions have arisen to that, and how that has changed/affected the integration process. To get a better understanding, we will incorporate the use of neo functionalism and rational choice new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The main reason behind the spillover effect is increased effectiveness. Two important spillovers here are functional and political. This allows institutions to expand their activities to areas not under their jurisdiction/mandate so they can function more effectively. In cases regarding free trade there is bound to be an increasing amount of spillover, due to the wide ranging nature of the economic issues, especially on issues such as trade barriers and tariffs. This has been evident from the verdict in the case of Cassis de Dijon which we will return to later on. Based on various rulings the ECJ could be seen as an active promoter of the spillover effect. In the Maastricht treaty the principle of subsidiarity was incorporated into the treaty, which the British government pushed for. The reason for this was to limit the transfer of power from the member states to the EU institutions. The decisions should be taken at the lowest possible level, closest to the citizen. However, the concept of subsidiarity remains to be defined clearly, and thus holds immense ambiguity. As a consequence, subsidiarity can be used as an argument both by those who desire greater autonomy for member states and by those who want the EU to become a federation. Neofunctionalism argues that actors, whether ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Integrating Paul s Letter To Biblical Hermeneutics a.Distantiation In order for us to bring Pauls letter to the church in Rome and context into contact with the Lutheran community in Marapyane, our distantiation will have to be not just expanding, but also be making use of or adopting the three steps of biblical hermeneutics as expounded by both Jonathan Draper and Gerald West. Draper call the first step to this approach the distantiation, it is in this step that we will try to allow the text to speak for itself without falling into the temptation of speaking on texts behalf. According to Draper distantiation allows the text to talk while the reader becomes the listener (Draper 2001:155) According to West, attention to the text must be given the priority and not too much on the attitude ... It is unfortunate that I cannot say with certainty, just how widespread, the fad was, or now that I review, whether, the fad was a fad or a trend, because, I don t know exactly how long the popularity of this style began. Per Bruce Cohen (2013) a fad is something that spikes and wanes, where a trend sort of simmers and gradually becomes popular. I recall receiving a shipment of suits, regardless of the owner s intent for the suit, I immediately envisioned the Miami Vice look, which included a variation of Stacy Adams footwear, and short sleeve tee shirts. My first sale of the ensemble interrupted my completing the actual display; and the sales continued. I can literally say that repeat sales were made from that purchase as one told a friend, and so, on, and so on. I was impressed, excited and amazed at the demand. A question me and my group had was why do they travel in pairs? we never answered it. We also learned about mendel s work. Mendel s work showed that the dominant alleles don t come up as present when another is present. Each human has 23 chromosomes. And grasshoppers have 24 chromosomes which is just 12 pair. Some more questions my group had was do other insects have more chromosomes? And can more than half of a parent s chromosomes go to its offspring? According to the film, Nelson Mandela became the first democratic president in South Africa in 1994. Apartheid laws were dismantled, but both white and black people did not get along, which was concerning for Mandela. • 23. Analysis Of The Poem The Angel Of The House The Angel in the House During the Victorian Era in 1837 the period that was ruled by Queen Victoria I, women endured many social disadvantages by living in a world entirely dominated by men. Around that time most women had to be innocent, virtuous, dutiful and be ignorant of intellectual opinion. It was also a time associated with prudishness and repression. Their sole window on the world would, of course, be her husband. During this important era, the idea of the Angel in the House was developed by Coventry Patmore and used to describe the ideal women who men longed. Throughout this period, women were treated inferior to men and were destined to be the husbands Angel in the House . The poem Coventry Patmore is written from the husband s point of view; Patmore even praises women throughout the poem. His praise for women only relates to his ability to benefit men. Women are part of the poem but she is not there to be heard. The reader is meant to see her through her husband s eyes. Patmore considers women inferior to men and stated that their only purpose is to aid their husbands. Yet, Patmore holds his angel wife up as a model for all women. Their objectification of women was customary for extraordinarily complex age and is a consistent theme in Victorian poetry. Education was not equal between the sexes and neither between the classes. • 27. Comparing Media Images Of Criminological Research Essay iii.Comparing Media Images to Criminological Research The superhero genre is so popular and influential that many studies have been done on its depictions of the groups and the impact it has on a large part of society how it has become a staple on film, television, and in video games (Darowski). The genre is so influential in fact, that it dates back all the way to the Ancient Greeks, and possibly even further (Haynes). Every group in history has had their mythologies and epic tales of crime fighters, they just did not call them superheroes. For example, Achilles only had one weakness (his heel) and was by the Greeks definition, considered a hero (greek gods.org). The same goes for heroes like Perseus, Theseus, and even Heracles. Back then though instead of being changed into a super soldier in a lab by a German scientist or creating a flying metal suit in the desert, these heroes were part god which explained their extra ordinary abilities. Super crime fighters have always existed, but when comic books began in the 19th century a new set of rules was created to guide their content to be more appropriate than the Greek tales (Coville). The Comics Code was a list of regulations regarding the depiction of certain events in comic books maintained by the Comics Magazine Association of America (Nyberg). The code was very strict and eventually challenged by Stan Lee (one of the creators of Marvel) through a story arc in the Spiderman Comics that dealt with drug abuse. ... Some viewers believe that there is an increasingly large amount of violence on television and this widespread public concern has quot;led to calls for stricter controls on the depiction of violence in programmes quot; (Gunter and McAleer 1990:92). Exactly how much violence is there on television though? Many cultivation theorists have studied this, acquiring data in the form of content analysis. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is clearly obvious from the research already done concerning television and its effects, that violence is quite prevalent on British television. Of more concern however is the effect that those can have on its viewers. Does the violence on television really increase the violent attitudes and behaviour in individuals? Violence on television can do one of three things. The first is make us more violent (Huesmann 1982), the second is make us less violent (Feshbach 1972) and the third is to have no effect at all (Freedman 1984, Kaplan and Singer 1976). Most evidence has supported the first argument namely that television violence does increase our own violent behaviour. There are four main effects that cause this violent behaviour when viewing it on television. The first of these affects is arousal. It is believed that a violent programme increases levels of arousal and thus causes us to become more violent as we are not only excited by the programme but also agitated and nervous. This effect is not limited to violent programmes however, as a comedy programme may induce arousal in the form of amusement in the same way as a violent programme induces arousal in the form of anger. It is the type of arousal that occurs in the first place that determines the effect the programme has. Condry (1989:11) found that suspense programmes, comedy programmes and sport events ... True freedom might be gained through lessons learned from history, from accomplishing and seeing dreams become reality, or from standing up for beliefs. Langston Hughes, an American poet known for his writing during the Harlem Renaissanceperiod said, In all my life, I have never been free. I have never been able to do anything with freedom, except in the field of my writing. (citation). As a young African Americanman, Hughes faced man obstacles, but writing gave him a sense of freedom of expression. His poetry reached people of various social,... People of all nations and beliefs have the right to experience freedom from injustice and to live in peace and equality no matter what they look like or believe. In the line, I ve seen its muddy bosom turn all golden in the sunset, (cite) Hughes use of the words muddy bosom symbolizes brown skin. Although some may not see the beauty in the muddiness, rivers can turn golden or beautiful in the sunset. If people would take the time to get to know others and not judge them by their outward appearance, they could see the beauty within the soul. Like rivers, people have a past that helped shape them. Each person, like a river has deep roots, perseverance, and a need for freedom and understanding. Rivers are confined by land as people are confined by laws, but just as rivers can change course, people can change society. Langston Hughes, like the rivers in The Negro Speaks of Rivers, preserved in the face of adversity as he forged new streams of thought. In Harlem, another example of the struggle for true freedom is represented as Langston Hughes questions, What happens to a dream deferred? (cite) Hughes explores the reality of what happens to people when they are unable to accomplish ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Week 5 Analyzing and Interpreting Data Analyzing and Interpreting Data Team X QNT/351 Analyzing and Interpreting Data The ultimate goal of descriptive statistics is to describe a set of data, identify patterns, and draw a conclusion, which enables an organization to make effective and informed decisions (McClave, Benson, Sincich, 2011). The company, Ballard Integrated Managed Services (BIMS), a support services company will leverage statistics to gather information on the company s employees to analyze and identify patterns. Second, questions one through ten qualify as ordinal data because of the relative rankings without consistent distances. Finally, the time worked for BIMS qualifies as ratio level data because it is easily ordered, consistent differences and zero is meaningful (McClave, Benson, Sincich, 2011). Each level of data has unique characteristics, which dictate the way the information is calculated, summarized, and presented. Coding and Cleaning the Data Coding the data is a systematic way in which data is condensed into smaller easily analyzed units (Lockyer, 2004). By coding the surveys received by BIMs it enables the company to analyze and interpret the data to draw an informed conclusion. The coding enables the research team to identify mistakes, and outliers, which improves the data s validity (Lockyer, 2004). To code BIMS data, the surveys must be numbered, and all corresponding data must be manually entered into Microsoft Excel, which increases the cost, time, and risk. The data is at risk of being entered incorrectly. Next, the raw data must be cleaned to ensure validity, relevancy, and accuracy. After the data was imported into Excel, the data must be reviewed for mistakes. One error that was identified was that a six was entered into Excel even though a five was observed. By coding and cleaning the data, the researcher will proactively identify errors or outliers while enabling a computer to complete statistical analysis and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Pros And Cons Of North Korea Labor Camps Did labor camps end in 1945? Or, did the world just lose the interest of what is happening globally? In 2014, an increase of interest of North Korea concentration camps trended all over social media. Citizens worldwide noticed North Korea is the only country you can t see street views on google earth. This just makes the argument bigger about North Koreadenying that these labor camps exist. After all the evidence and memoirs of North Koreans that have escaped from these labor camps, the real question is should the United States intervene? One of the top solutions is for the United States to intervene and liberate all the North Korean prisoners ( How Did We Get Here? A Timeline of the North Korean Nuclear Threat ). For example, Kim IL Sung laid down the law in 1972, Enemies of class, whoever they are, their seed must be eliminated through three generations. (Harden, Page #6) Kim is saying that he wants his country to be made up of pure, loyal people and wants to kill off the rest. This is why the United States needs to intervene and go to war with North Korea. We can t let hundreds and thousands of people be killed, starved, or tortured; it goes against all human rights. The benefits of going to war would be liberating hundreds and thousands of North Korean prisoners, we would have control of North and South Korea if the U.S. won and we would be eliminating a dictator who is a major threat as of 2013 ( How potent are North Korea s threats? ). Or, the United ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Trash Sample Within the trash sample I analyzed there were around 234 items thrown away within a week s period. Many of the items thrown away were thrown away in pairs suggesting that two people live in the dwelling that the sample was taken in. Some examples of items thrown away in pairs include, Starbucks cups, church bulletins, and Bounty paper towels. Bounty paper products, napkins and paper towels, show up on the record 24 times, suggesting that Bounty paper products are used over three times per day, corresponding with meals. Other brands that show up in the sample often include Green Giant, four times, Kroger Brand, twelve times. Within the Kroger brand items there are six plastic ziploc bags, this suggests that the people who live in this home either take their lunch to work or school, or pre package their snacks at home into serving sizes. The two church bulletins, and church offering envelopes, suggest that both members of the household went to church once the week they took their trash sample. Another interesting item thrown away was an old Tommy Hilfiger brand shirt. The members of this household make enough money to throw away old clothes, suggesting that they live comfortably. We also can tell what bank they use because they threw away a check box from Regions bank. There was a lot of first aid items in the trash sample as well multiple boxes of bandages and a box of non stick gauze pads this suggests that someone in the home had a wound that needed to be dressed. • 34. Aboriginal Women Research Paper Aboriginal women face disproportionate challenges throughout their incarceration which impacts their successful community reintegration. Over the last ten years, inmate assaults involving Aboriginal women have exponentially grown, almost doubling, while use of force incidents have more than tripled. Rates of self injury involving incarcerated Aboriginal women are seventeen times higher than that of non Aboriginal women. To agree with Baldry, Carlton, and Cunneen, using Indigenous women as a focus point is beneficial because their experiences embody and exemplify the intersections between colonial and neocolonial oppression and the multiple sites of gender and disadvantage and inequality that stem from patriarchal domination. Cunneen highlights that Indigenous women actually live in many prisons ; the prisonof misunderstanding; the prison of misogyny; and the prison of disempowerment. Patricia Monture insists that one way women can resist oppression and facilitate social change is by telling their own stories. The Task Force for Federally Sentenced Women developed a report called Creating Choices, which attempted to relocate the power to make choices in womens lives out of the hands of prison officials and back to the women themselves because, according to the findings of the Task Force, it is only when people are treated with respect and when they are empowered can they take responsibility for their actions and make meaningful decisions. Well Michelangelo was just that. In fact the stereotype is modeled after him. He was an unsociable loner who didn t have many friends, lovers, or even assistants to help him. His temper and rudeness drove others away from him and kept him lonely. However, even though he was not the most likeable or social guy, he still produced some of the most amazing artwork ever! At about the same time, he also produced one of his most famous works of art, the Pieta , which was finished before he was 25. In the Pieta he shows his influences from fifteenth century artists such as Donatello, while also combining them with the new Renaissance style(cgfa). It depicts the Virgin Mary seated majestically holding the dead Christ across her lap. Furthermore, this is his only signed piece of work ever. And is so because he overheard a pilgrim say that Cristoforo Solari created it. So that night in a fit of rage, Michelangelo inscribed MICHEL ANGELUS BONAROTUS FLORENT FACIBAT , saying Michelangelo Buonarrati, Florentine, made this . Although he later resented this and swore to never sign any of his work again. In 1501 a republic was once again brought to Florence, which received Michelangelo s full support. Twelve days after the republic was formed, the Arte della Lana or wool guild commissioned Michelangelo to sculpt a statue of David. The masterpiece that he produced from 1501 1504 was a very Greek or Romanesque style, except for its large size and angry defiant facial expressions(scholastic art). • 41. Explain How Is Iago A Sociopath Raya Tarawneh 5/3/16 Is Iago a Sociopath? One of Shakespeare s most acclaimed works, Othello, delves into a wide range of themes. The play tackles issues of race, gender and encompasses ideas of jealousy and deceit. Shakespeare also brings to life a variety of well constructed characters. Iago, the deceitful antagonist, can easily be identified as the liveliest and most complex character in the play. His devious nature raises the question of whether or not he is a sociopath. Sociopathy is a mental disorder in which an individual s moral depravity poses a threat to society. The Psychopathy Checklist, commonly known as the PCL, constructed a list of criteria used to diagnose sociopaths. These criteria vary from irresponsibility ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The PCL refers to sociopaths as having superficial charm and glibness , both of which Iago possesses. When asked by Othello to recap the events of the quarrel, Iago says I had rather have this tongue cut from my mouth/ Then it should do offence to Michael Cassio (2.3.205 206). In saying so, Iago comes off to Othello as both honest and loyal, most definitely charming him and covering up the fact that it was Iago himself who intentionally set up the quarrel in order to become lieutenant. In document A, conning others for personal profit or pleasure is said to be usual of sociopaths. This is easily applicable to Iago s character, who for the sake of becoming lieutenant and destroying Othello, manages to deceive several characters in the play and ends up being the cause of Roderigo, Desdemona, Emilia and Othello s deaths. Once again, placing Iago and Ani Korban side by side affirms Iago s sociopathy. Ani Korban praises his psychiatrist by referring to him/her as one of the most astute and erudite persons he has ever met . Cultures are so diverse that normal habits done on a regular basis in one culture may be considered taboo in another culture. This essay will discuss how the Japanese culture differs from my culture, and it will also examine the importance of studying another culture. First, I want to cover some of the major differences between the Japanese culture and my own, and then get to some of the smaller differences. The first major difference is the religion; Buddhism and Shintoism make up 84% of the Japanese religion. The item that intrigued me was the fact that religion in Japan is more of a set of rules and rituals to follow now and then. There is not much daily involvement in religion like there is in America; whether it is Christian, Catholic, or Muslin, each religion involves prayer and worship to a certain degree on more of daily or weekly basis. Next, the Japanese food is much different. Most Japanese meals have rice in some form or another and the Japanese generally eat with chopsticks. When eating at a restaurant there are many differences to consider. A wet towel is given to a customer when he is first seated at a restaurant to wash his hands. When sushi is the meal it is acceptable to eat use hands and not chop sticks. When eating noodles, it is acceptable to make slurping noises. When you are finished with your meal it is not expected that you tip the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
