III. Learning Experiences:
Activity
The students will be divided in to Eight (8) groups. Each group will be given pieces of paper
containing words. Afterwards, they will be tasked to arrange the words in order to form a
sentence.
They will come up with the following sentences:
 City of Naga is the industrial City of the South.
 When will you go abroad?
 Hand me the phone.
 Congratulations! You passed!
 Wow! That was amazing!
 Please, give me your number.
 Naga National High School is located at Brgy. West Poblacion City of Naga, Cebu.
 What time they will come?
Analysis
The following questions are asked to process the whole activity:
1. What does the activity reveals?
2. Did you find difficulties in forming the sentences?
3. Who can give examples of each of the four kind of sentences?
Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the following Kind of sentences.
Declarative - A declarative sentence makes a statement. A declarative sentence ends with a
period.
Example: The house will be built on a hill.
Interrogative - An interrogative sentence asks a question. An interrogative sentence ends with a
question mark.
Example: How did you find the card?
Exclamatory - An exclamatory sentence shows strong feeling. An exclamatory sentence ends
with an exclamation mark.
Example: The monster is attacking!
Imperative - An imperative sentence gives a command.
Example: Cheryl, try the other door.
Sometimes the subject of an imperative sentence (you) is understood.
Example: Look in the closet. (You, look in the closet.)
Application
Group Activity: Make a short presentation depicting different situations. Make use of all the
learned types of sentences.
Group 1: You and your classmates passed the Entrance exam.
Group 2: Your teacher scolded your classmates for being late and stubborn
Group 3: Reporting an accident.
Group 4: Celebrity talk show

Directions: Read each sentence carefully and identify their function. Write D if it is declarative,
IN if it is interrogative, IM if it is imperative and E if it is Exclamatory.
1. Cebu is known as the Queen City of the South.
2. Did the President approve her proposal?
3. That was magnificent!
4. It’s a baby boy!
5. Call the police, please.
6. Watch out for that car!
7. What harm did the delay cause?
8. Most people do enjoy working hard.
9. Is there anything else that I can get you?

IV. Assignment
Make a comic strip using the different types of sentence according to structure.
Write/Illustrate it in a white short bond paper. Make sure to construct your own sentences.
