There are frequent accidents at anaerobic digestion plants during construction and operation due to gas explosions and exposure to toxic hydrogen sulfide gas. Many of these accidents are preventable through proper risk mitigation measures. During construction, risks can be reduced through adherence to the Construction Design and Management regulations, which require principal designers and careful attention to interfaces between equipment. During operation, permanent gas monitoring, confined space procedures, training, and permit-to-work programs can help protect workers from gas exposure. Incident reports show common risks involve maintenance activities, mixing of feedstocks, and overloading of digesters leading to gas release.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF A CONVENTIONAL DIESEL ENGINE RUNNING IN DUAL FUEL M...IAEME Publication
Present study evaluates the performance of a compression ignition engine running in dual fuel mode with Liquefied Petroleum Gas and Petroleum Diesel. The LPG was inducted in the engine by Fumigation method at the rate of 0.094, 0.189 & 0.283 Kg/hr. Major performance parameters such as Brake power, Brake thermal efficiency, Brake specific fuel consumption etc. were evaluated at different load & different fuel combinations.

Hydropower is influenced by climate change, but it can also contribute to alleviating the problem. Panellists will present and discuss four aspects of these relationships:
Science and uncertainty relating to the impact of climate change on hydrology;
Reviewing the relationship between hydropower and the natural greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the river basin;
Methods and incentives to use hydropower to offset GHG emissions from more carbon-intensive sources of energy; and
assessing the role of hydropower infrastructure in the face of increasing floods and drought.

Natural gas has dropped in price drastically in the last several years thanks to new drilling technologies such as "fracking." This change in the economics of power generation is prompting manufacturers to explore gas powered co-generation and prompting utilities faced with an aging fleet of coal fired power plants to consider replacing them with gas powered electrical power plants in light of their cheaper costs. Burning less coal could reduce polution and GHG emissions, but fracking raises some concerns about ground water and safety. We will discuss the impact of fracking on natural gas prices and its impact on our fuel source mix and the economic opportunities, environmental impacts, regulations, and concerns being raised by this technology and market dynamics it is facilitating.

"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.
