This document discusses developing bioresources through anaerobic digestion (AD). There are currently 185 operational AD plants in the UK, 102 farm-fed and 83 waste-fed, with over 500 more under development. 52 projects involve turning biogas into renewable natural gas. Government funding of £41.5 million in 2014-15 supported translating biological research into industrial processes and manufacturing new or improved products. Key areas included production of chemicals, fuels, proteins and improving upstream/downstream processes. The panel discussion focused on these topics.
