List of the Advantages of Technology in Education
1. Promotes independent learning in students
The internet is a treasure trove of information. Practically anything you need to know can be
found online. Although there is a question of the credibility of the source and the data provided,
it can still serve as an educational resource for students. Even without assistance from parents
and teachers, students can just look up their lessons online.
Unlike regular textbooks, electronic books and web-based content are updated in real time,
feeding students with the most current information they can get their hands on, helping them
become more knowledgeable even outside the classroom setting.
2. Prepares students for the future
From the way technological advancements are going, it is obvious that the future will be digital
and technology-focused. If students are well-versed on using technology to collaborate and
communicate as early as now, they will not have trouble fitting in, competing and finding jobs in
the future. Being familiar with using at least one form of technology at an early age will help
them become comfortable using it, and eventually develop other skills necessary to handle other
innovative devices and processes.

There are many significant developments in the process of E-Learning which are as follows:
· The landscape of learning may look different today as it may did about 4-5 years ago. The way by which every leaner is learning have changed effectively.
6 · There are several sights which may represent the learner tribe and may consume the content in a particular way which is typical to usage pattern to their smartphone.
· Every learner may expect the content which is consistent to the digital learning format as it may begin to receive the content which is personalized, relevant, short on their mobile devices.
· The leader may identify the trend as they haven’t seen many instances of microlearning.

It’s not like back in the day where the only thing that was needed to learn was paper, pencil, and a textbook. These days, those things alone would simply not be enough. While students have access to these things at school, some students don’t always have access to these things outside of the school setting. This is where the divide comes into place. While the use of technology allows students to be able to learn outside of the classroom setting, students are not allowed to take these devices home (for a number of reasons that are understandable), and even if they were able to some students do not have access to the internet at home. While it would be ideal for each student to be issued a device for the school year, there are some things that you have to take into consideration like the initial cost to purchase items such as laptops and iPads, price of maintenance, and if students would truly be able to take care of them for the year. To bridge these gaps there are a number of things that could be done. 1. Teachers could fundraise to obtain their own classroom set of iPads. There are site like Donors Choose and Go Fund Me that practically allows any and everyone to fundraise for whatever they choose. 2. Teachers could modify lessons and assignments where less technology is being used. By modifying lessons and assignments maybe internet access will not always be necessary. There are other ways for students to learn information like textbooks and books from your local library. 3. Computer time and usage could be expanded throughout the day. If there are students that you know do not have access to these things at home, they could be allowed more time than usual to use them at school. 4. An informational could be held for parents to let them know where they could take their child to be able to use the computer and gain access to the internet. For example, most libraries communities allows access to their computers. I don't think that the gap will ever completely be closed due to the fact that not everyone will have access to these things, and not everyone wants to have access to these things. As a teacher teaching 21st century learners, it is imperative that you do all that you can to assist students who may not have access to these tools and materials outside of the school setting.
