The document discusses 5 common myths about Lean UX. It asserts that Lean UX is not the same as minimal UX, that it is more than just UX combined with Agile development, and that while it minimizes some upfront research, research is still important. Additionally, Lean UX is not wasteful and does not involve only new techniques, but builds on existing UX methods. The document advocates measuring the effectiveness of minimal viable products to reduce uncertainty for startups.
For the second year in a row, Business Interiors by Staples and Metropolis Magazine hosted a design competition that invited design visionaries to submit concepts that depict how the workplace will change in the next 10-15 years.
We used to talk about where is the wow effect? but now its where do we start / how do we start? We start with user experience software and when we have done this the smart building budget is reduced as the UX software collects some of the data that is needed to make the building more efficient

Psychology behind product development orang fabPiotr Biegun
During last workshops at Orange Fab in Warsaw we were talking about the role of a psychology in building digital products. Understanding how people are taking their decisions is important to deliver new products & services. It is affecting all aspects of a business like sales, marketing, customer experience and way we deliver our services.

Ingrid Domingues and Johan Berndtsson - Great UX is Here (From Business to Bu...inUse
In this talk, we’ll present five components that are vital if you want to generate value for your organization. Guess what? It’s all about UX. Wether you need to optimise an existing business, or innovate completely new solutions and offerings, great UX is what will make the difference. So join us - and put your business on the road to UX nirvana.
Lean UX relies on a simple premise – think -> make -> evaluate.
It is a business strategy that thrives on feedback from the audience instead of the head honcho at a top tech firm. It represents democratization of design, ensuring faster (and more meaningful) design changes to products where deliverables aren’t important but the overall user experience is. Simply put, its focus on users having say over how the product/app/service performs is an interesting process to say the least.
UX is omnipresent nowadays and will grow more and more the tool of innovation. Companies are becoming aware of the vitality of adopting this technology from the start. The Importance of UX is a presentation of how we as a UX Design Team implement UX in projects.
In today's hyper-competitive media landscape, the top companies are not those with the fastest technology or the biggest content library but those who consistently offer memorable and engaging experiences for their users. In this workshop, attendees will learn the key concepts and methods of User Experience (UX) and how a combination of design thinking and experience-centered strategy can help brands create and sustain meaningful relationships with their customers.

Lean UX is based on lean development, a school of thought that originates from the startup world.
The goal of lean development is to cut any element in the product development cycle that is not strictly necessary.

User Experience in a Rapidly Changing World, for ISA '13, Recife BrazilJoshua Seiden
Slides from my talk at Interaction South America, Recife, Brazil, November 15, 2013.
Software is eating the world. Thanks to newly mature platforms, techniques and infrastructure, teams are moving faster than ever before. So how do you design software in this world, a world of continuous integration, deployment and delivery?
Why do we build websites, applications, software, …? I would think because we want to give the user information, tools to work with, making their lives easier. And yet, so many users get frustrated not finding what they are looking for, doing things and expecting to get different results. Helpdesks get overwhelmed with support tickets for help. Development teams have to do redesigns and make – sometimes massive – changes to make customers happy.
In this session at the Agile.net conference we’ll tap into the world of UX. We’ll demystify the buzz words UX, Usability, User Experience, … We’ll make UX tangible by using it in real-life cases. We’ll finally bite the bullet and explore who should be the UX guy or girl in your company. Most importantly we’ll make UX part of the development process helping teams get more happy users, lowering development and support costs. We’ll make UX Lean.
UX is not a bolt-on but many agencies and founders approach it as the icing on the cake where really it is the cake itself. If you are in the process of planning, creating or improving your MVP this presentation will help you understand what UX is and how to go about making it happen for your product. The presentation will also help you understand how the UX process should happen correctly in your organisation and advises on different heuristics and models that can aid your team to ensure your product is produced correctly. The keynote was presented to the Founders Nation boot-camp by Danny Bluestone from Cyber-Duck at The Wayra Academy,Capper Street, WC1E 6JA London during March 2014.
As user experience evolves, new practices and techniques come into vogue. At the forefront of UX today are "Lean" and Agile UX methods and approaches.
"Lean UX" has become a buzz term that has grown out of the Lean Startup movement, which is based on the Lean philosophy of Steve Blank and Eric Ries (see Eric Ries' book, Lean Startup).
There's just one problem with Lean UX- what is it exactly, and how can it be implemented well? How does one approach "Lean" as an agency, a startup, a Fortune 100? It turns out there are a lot of interpretations of Lean UX in practice, and that a one-size-fits-all methodology may not be the answer.
This diverse of Lean UX forerunners and practitioners will attempt to address these thorny questions. Panelists will spend a few minutes defining Lean UX on their own terms, including how Lean UX is similar and/or diffferent from Agile UX. Thereafter, panelists will spend 10-15 minutes digging into the nitty-gritty implementation details of how they are practicing Lean UX on a day-day level for company and client projects.

Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.

Transforming Brand Perception and Boosting Profitabilityaaryangarg12
In today's digital era, the dynamics of brand perception, consumer behavior, and profitability have been profoundly reshaped by the synergy of branding, social media, and website design. This research paper investigates the transformative power of these elements in influencing how individuals perceive brands and products and how this transformation can be harnessed to drive sales and profitability for businesses.
Through an exploration of brand psychology and consumer behavior, this study sheds light on the intricate ways in which effective branding strategies, strategic social media engagement, and user-centric website design contribute to altering consumers' perceptions. We delve into the principles that underlie successful brand transformations, examining how visual identity, messaging, and storytelling can captivate and resonate with target audiences.
Methodologically, this research employs a comprehensive approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Real-world case studies illustrate the impact of branding, social media campaigns, and website redesigns on consumer perception, sales figures, and profitability. We assess the various metrics, including brand awareness, customer engagement, conversion rates, and revenue growth, to measure the effectiveness of these strategies.
The results underscore the pivotal role of cohesive branding, social media influence, and website usability in shaping positive brand perceptions, influencing consumer decisions, and ultimately bolstering sales and profitability. This paper provides actionable insights and strategic recommendations for businesses seeking to leverage branding, social media, and website design as potent tools to enhance their market position and financial success.
6. Lean UX ≠ Minimal UX
Lean in this context doesn’t mean least or minimal. Doing
Lean UX doesn’t mean doing the least amount of user
experience work you can get away with.
8. Lean UX ≠ UX + Agile
Agile is a development methodology for programming that breaks
large projects into small manageable chunks. UX in an Agile
environment is NOT Lean UX.
10. Lean UX minimizes up-front research
In Lean UX, doing research upfront about your
customers/users is critical. BUT you do just
enough to answer the experiment at hand.
32. Reducing the scope of your MVP not only shortens your
development cycle, but also removes unnecessary
distractions that dilute your products messaging.
