“The project leadership skills shared during the seminar are not only useful and quickly applicable, but also delivered
in a way which allows participants to absorb and easily refer back to the tools and techniques they’ve learned. A great
investment for any project-driven organization, with immediate payback.”
— Sammy Rashed, Head of Sourcing - Global Sites, Novartis Pharma AG, Switzerland
Leading global teams and initiatives requires
sophisticated leadership skills.
To succeed, you need knowledge that extends well
beyond the fundamentals of project management.
Leading Teams for Strategic Results addresses three
essential skills – strategic project management, project
leadership, and cross-cultural leadership – all critical
components of effectively leading global project teams.
• Strategic Project Management – Learn to align
projects with strategic objectives, lead your project
team effectively from initiation to completion, and
optimize resource allocation.
• Project Leadership – Learn how to inspire, moti-
vate, engage and communicate as you build and lead
effective teams in remote and virtual settings.
• Cross-cultural Leadership – Learn more about
your cultural assumptions and how cross-cultural
communication impacts project management using a
variety of tools and assessments.
Focused on Experiential Learning
Sessions are practical and highly interactive with a mix-
ture of inputs, pre-work, case studies, team exercises, and
assessment tools that will raise awareness and help you de-
velop new skills and strengths. During the Leading Teams
for Strategic Results program, you will learn to:

• Map out project strategy to action
• Develop and communicate a value message for
your project
• Identify advocates and blockers among your stake-
holders
• Create influencing strategies which can also help
motivate difficult project team members
• Build a high-performance project team culture
• Become culturally multilingual to bridge cultural
differences
• Anticipate and proactively manage risks
• Create a professional network with diverse pro-
gram participants while sharing project leadership
best practices and experiences
• Work effectively with remote team members and

Are Global Projects that Difficult?
Yes… especially with the state of today’s global economy. Today’s challenging business environment stretches
leaders’ creativity, compounds their time, and increases the demands upon them while shrinking their budgets.
Leading Teams for Strategic Results delivers hands-on skill-building and cutting-edge strategic insight to help you and
your teams weather the economic storm. You’ll develop sophisticated leadership skills that extend well beyond the
fundamentals of project management, teaching you how to:
• Lead as both a strategist and a tactician
• Influence and motivate across functions, companies, and country cultures
• Uncover and leverage differences within diverse project teams
You’ll walk away from this instruction culturally bilingual and ready to turn project strategy into action.
“With the global economic downturn, the business
landscape is altering decision making, resetting
priorities, and putting even more pressure on
leaders across the world. How do you manage with
less time, smaller budgets, and fewer people in your
team than ever? Leading Teams for Strategic Results
is a leadership program applied to today’s global
project and initiative challenges. It is specially
designed to offer very practical tools to help you and
your teams weather the storm.”
— Bill Youngdahl, Ph.D., Academic Program Director
