The meeting to explain the aim of creating a logo and the rules:
• What is a logo?
• Logo design requirements.
• List of logo design great examples.
• The competition to choose the best logo, created by the inmates of the
Panevezys Correction House, was launched.
• The inmates were encouraged to join a competition and to win a great
prize!

• The goal was to create the embroidered picture
of the PROJECT LOGO.

• Prisoners were encouraged not only to find recipes, but also to provide
recipe illustrations.

METHODOLOGY USED FOR CREATING A LOGO
Portugal
• The Methodology used was to discuss the idea of how to create a
logo and it was decided to focus on the Mediterranean diet.
• Then inmates made a draft
drawing, painted it and produced it
manually.
• The drawings contained of a
basket full of healthy foods in which
they introduced the symbol of Slow
Food – a snail.

OTHER ACTIVITIES ABOUT LOGO
Portugal
• Inmates approved the design unanimously; it
moved to work in the workshops, then
proceeding to the construction of the cross-
cane handmade basket representing prison
bars.
• Fish objects, meat, vegetables, fruits, milk,
cheese, olive oil, cereals and bread also worked
on manually were made of wood and plaster,
decorated in bright colours to reflect the
national flag. In the middle of the food cycle,
they put up the snail with the lettering slow
food in the bark.

• Inmates also wrote, drew and
painted recipes.
• They designed and painted by
hand, the dishes that are part of
the 86 recipes from Cape Verde,
Angola and from north to south of
Portugal.

logo according to their wish and
capabilities.

technologies.

• Turkish prisoners created about 20 logos and one of them was chosen as
the Project International Logo.

The complete practical methodology was used:
• Work the drawing;
• Use colors;
• A selection of different drawings;
• A display of the selected drawing.

• The workshop started with simple drawing and afterwards
the creation of the logo was the main purpose of it;
• It was all the work that teachers performed in their classes;
• The displays were made within the classes;
• The inmates were quite motivated as the things they were
working with were new to them. It was a very attractive and
creative work with a lot of participation.

Methodology used:
• The creation of a logo which depicts their own reality in jail, where cooking
food can be a way to feel a little bit freedom. When the inmates cook in jail,
they smell the scent of home.

• The inmates were happy to participate creating the logo as they had an
opportunity to create something by their hands. Moreover, there are few
workshops in the prison.
• By any inmates picture comes out the wish for outdoors life.

• The logo creation has been the main motivation to draw. The other inmates
pictures represent sandglasses, stamps, flowers, birds, keys and locks.

TRAVELLING LOGO EXHIBITION
Lithuania
• From December 20, 2014 to January 20, 2015 the community and the quests
of the Panevezys Correction House had a possibility to visit the Traveling Logo
Exhibition.
• The dissemination event was held on the 7th of January.
• The participants of the event – the inmates and the staff of the Panevezys
Correction House as well as the personnel of the Adult Training Centre.

TRAVELLING LOGO EXHIBITION

 Exhibition was organized by CONFIAR together with the School
Consortium D. Carlos I in Sintra where the exhibition was held.
 Participants: Deputy Director General Reintegration and Prison
Services, Director of the Group of Schools, Teachers, Students,
Employees, former Prisoners local producers, the School Music
Group, Director and Associate Members of the CONFIAR prison
fraternity trust, other guests.

TRAVELLING LOGO EXHIBITION
Portugal
 The exhibition was inaugurated by the Deputy Director General followed by a workshop
on the project activities, power point presentation on project activities and the slow food
concept. Ex-inmates bore witness to their participation, the Deputy Director General
spoke about the Educational Centres and the good that this type of projects do in
changing prison environment. More than 70 people present. There was a school choir
that sang Christmas carols and snacks made by teachers were served.
 Finally, in the prison a power point and photos of the dissemination activity were
presented to participating inmates.

TRAVELLING LOGO EXHIBITION

 The exhibition was held from Sptember to the middle of November, 2014;
 It was held in the Ayaş District Directorate of National Education, the Ayaş
Open prison and the Prison Shop.
 The exhibition was visited by prison staff, teachers and public.
 The exhibition was visited by project partners on September 10, 2014 (during
our partner meeting in Turkey).

 The exhibition was held in February 2015;
 It was held in the Salto de Negro Prison and the Adults Centre of Las
Palmas.
 The exhibition was visited by teachers and inmates and community of
the Adults Centre of Las Palmas.
 The exhibition was visited by project partners on February 4, 2015
(during our partner meeting in Gran Canaria).

 The exhibition was held from April to May, 2015;
 It was held in three schools in Elba (Porto Azzurro, Marciana Marina
and Campo nell’Elba), in the library of the district of Campo nell’Elba
and in the Porto Azzuro Prison .
 The exhibition was visited by the communities of the schools, inmates,
prison staff and public.

  • 10. PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 OTHER DRAWING ACTIVITIES Lithuania • Prisoners were encouraged not only to find recipes, but also to provide recipe illustrations.
  • 11. PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 METHODOLOGY USED FOR CREATING A LOGO Portugal • The Methodology used was to discuss the idea of how to create a logo and it was decided to focus on the Mediterranean diet. • Then inmates made a draft drawing, painted it and produced it manually. • The drawings contained of a basket full of healthy foods in which they introduced the symbol of Slow Food – a snail.

PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 OTHER ACTIVITIES ABOUT LOGO Portugal • Inmates approved the design unanimously; it moved to work in the workshops, then proceeding to the construction of the cross- cane handmade basket representing prison bars. • Fish objects, meat, vegetables, fruits, milk, cheese, olive oil, cereals and bread also worked on manually were made of wood and plaster, decorated in bright colours to reflect the national flag. In the middle of the food cycle, they put up the snail with the lettering slow food in the bark.
  • 13. PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 OTHER DRAWING ACTIVITIES Portugal • Inmates also wrote, drew and painted recipes. • They designed and painted by hand, the dishes that are part of the 86 recipes from Cape Verde, Angola and from north to south of Portugal.
  • 14. PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 METHODOLOGY USED FOR CREATING A LOGO Turkey • Inmates started studying on the logo according to their wish and capabilities.

  • 17. PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 METHODOLOGY USED FOR CREATING A LOGO Spain The complete practical methodology was used: • Work the drawing; • Use colors; • A selection of different drawings; • A display of the selected drawing.

PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 METHODOLOGY USED FOR CREATING A LOGO Spain • The workshop started with simple drawing and afterwards the creation of the logo was the main purpose of it; • It was all the work that teachers performed in their classes; • The displays were made within the classes; • The inmates were quite motivated as the things they were working with were new to them. It was a very attractive and creative work with a lot of participation.

PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 METHODOLOGY USED FOR CREATING A LOGO Italy (Cooperativa Beniamino scs ONLUS) Methodology used: • The creation of a logo which depicts their own reality in jail, where cooking food can be a way to feel a little bit freedom. When the inmates cook in jail, they smell the scent of home.

PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 METHODOLOGY USED FOR CREATING A LOGO Italy (Cooperativa Beniamino scs ONLUS) • The inmates were happy to participate creating the logo as they had an opportunity to create something by their hands. Moreover, there are few workshops in the prison. • By any inmates picture comes out the wish for outdoors life.
  • 21. PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 METHODOLOGY USED FOR CREATING A LOGO Italy (Cooperativa Beniamino scs ONLUS) • The logo creation has been the main motivation to draw. The other inmates pictures represent sandglasses, stamps, flowers, birds, keys and locks.

PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 TRAVELLING LOGO EXHIBITION Lithuania • From December 20, 2014 to January 20, 2015 the community and the quests of the Panevezys Correction House had a possibility to visit the Traveling Logo Exhibition. • The dissemination event was held on the 7th of January. • The participants of the event – the inmates and the staff of the Panevezys Correction House as well as the personnel of the Adult Training Centre.
  • 30. PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 TRAVELLING LOGO EXHIBITION Portugal  Exhibition was organized by CONFIAR together with the School Consortium D. Carlos I in Sintra where the exhibition was held.  Participants: Deputy Director General Reintegration and Prison Services, Director of the Group of Schools, Teachers, Students, Employees, former Prisoners local producers, the School Music Group, Director and Associate Members of the CONFIAR prison fraternity trust, other guests.

PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 TRAVELLING LOGO EXHIBITION Portugal  The exhibition was inaugurated by the Deputy Director General followed by a workshop on the project activities, power point presentation on project activities and the slow food concept. Ex-inmates bore witness to their participation, the Deputy Director General spoke about the Educational Centres and the good that this type of projects do in changing prison environment. More than 70 people present. There was a school choir that sang Christmas carols and snacks made by teachers were served.  Finally, in the prison a power point and photos of the dissemination activity were presented to participating inmates.

PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 TRAVELLING LOGO EXHIBITION Turkey  The exhibition was held from Sptember to the middle of November, 2014;  It was held in the Ayaş District Directorate of National Education, the Ayaş Open prison and the Prison Shop.  The exhibition was visited by prison staff, teachers and public.  The exhibition was visited by project partners on September 10, 2014 (during our partner meeting in Turkey).

PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 TRAVELLING LOGO EXHIBITION Spain  The exhibition was held in February 2015;  It was held in the Salto de Negro Prison and the Adults Centre of Las Palmas.  The exhibition was visited by teachers and inmates and community of the Adults Centre of Las Palmas.  The exhibition was visited by project partners on February 4, 2015 (during our partner meeting in Gran Canaria).

PROJECT “TASTE OF FREEDOM” 1 August 2013 – 31 July 2015 TRAVELLING LOGO EXHIBITION Italy (Cooperativa Beniamino scs ONLUS)  The exhibition was held from April to May, 2015;  It was held in three schools in Elba (Porto Azzurro, Marciana Marina and Campo nell’Elba), in the library of the district of Campo nell’Elba and in the Porto Azzuro Prison .  The exhibition was visited by the communities of the schools, inmates, prison staff and public.
