The country of Mexico got its name from the nations capital Mexico-Tenochtitlan The  nation of Mexico was known as the land of hunter-gatherers  The people domesticated corn which sparked the agricultural  revolution . 1519 the country was invaded and colonized by the Spaniards. Later invaded by the French in  1861.
Most indigenous people of Mexico died off after the invasion of Spain  Treaty of Córdoba signed 1821 gave Mexico independence from Spain at the conclusion of the Mexican war of independence Mexico lost many  states to the united    states
Mexico  has a population if over 92 million people. Where two-thirds of the population lived in cities and small towns, the rest lived in rural areas. The indigieonous people of mexico were indians, but now a days most clasify themselves as meztizos(indian and european decent). 12 million indigenous people in Mexico, of many different ethnic groups, which constitute about 11% - 13% of the population in the country.
