Let’s Start off Easy! We will start with a few easy one’s to get warmed up. Check your lists as we go along to make sure you have these in your notebook. Alright are you ready? Here we go!
Biology The study of Life.
Meteorology The study of the Earth’s weather.
Geology The study of the Earth’s origin, history and structure.
A Little Harder It is time to step it up a little. I’ll give you a little hint with each one. Remember to check your notebooks that you have all of these.
Zoology The study of Animals.
Botany The study of Plants.
Ichthyology The study of Fish.
Entomology The study of Insects.
Archaeology The study of the  evidence  (graves, tools, pottery, etc.) of past human life.
Paleontology The study of prehistoric life.
Ecology The study of the relationship between living things and their environments (ecosystems)
Seismology The study of earthquakes.
Oceanology The study of the ocean and its life.
Astronomy The study of outer space and its phenomena.
A little bit harder. Most of these are probably not in your notebook. Write them down so that you have them to study for the test.
Herpetology The study of reptiles and amphibians.
Volcanology The study of Volcanoes.
Dendrology The study of trees and other hard plants.
Hydrology The study of water and its effect on the Earth’s surface.
Physics The study of forces and motion of matter (including light and color)
Forensics The use of science to solve a crime.
Engineering The application of science in the real world.
Ornithology The study of birds .
Taxonomy The study of classification
Chemistry The study of substances and how they are made up, work, interact and react.
Microbiology The study of microscopic living things .
Cytology The study of the formation, structure and function of cells.
Genetics The study of the passing of traits from parents to offspring.
Physiology The study of the function of living things and their parts.
Anthropology The study of ancient civilizations and the early evolution of human beings.
Limnology The study of lakes, streams and ponds.
Epidemiology The study of the how diseases are spread
