A wiki is proposed as a new way to develop and disseminate clinical practice guidelines for cancer treatment. Wikis allow for more efficient literature searches, easier citation handling, and iterative publishing of up-to-date guidelines. Multiple stakeholders can collaborate on guidelines by each contributing to different sections. This makes the process more transparent, flexible, scalable and affordable compared to traditional written guidelines which become quickly outdated and are costly to produce. The wiki would facilitate public consultation and updating of guidelines based on new evidence submissions. Analytics would track guideline usage and e-learning modules could aid dissemination and implementation.
