At	
  the	
  beginning	
  of	
  my	
  practicum	
  period,	
  the	
  general	
  aims	
  were	
  focused	
  
on	
  developing	
  the	
  skills	
  that	
  will	
  help	
  me	
  to	
  become	
  a	
  better	
  teacher,	
  	
  	
  
Not	
  only	
  on	
  the	
  pedagogical	
  tools	
  but	
  also	
  on	
  the	
  confidence	
  within	
  the	
  
classroom.	
  The	
  objectives	
  were	
  clear	
  and	
  I	
  faced	
  to	
  an	
  unknown	
  group	
  
with	
  the	
  hope	
  to	
  give	
  my	
  best.	
  
In	
  my	
  personal	
  experience	
  the	
  group	
  I	
  have	
  chosen	
  belongs	
  to	
  a	
  public	
  
school,	
  where	
  the	
  resources	
  are	
  limited,	
  English	
  lessons	
  are	
  not	
  settled	
  
in	
  their	
  curricula	
  and	
  kids	
  have	
  some	
  social	
  and	
  economic	
  factors	
  which	
  
limit	
   the	
   opportunities	
   to	
   approach	
   to	
   English	
   lessons.	
   The	
   students	
  
were	
   excited	
   and	
   they	
   were	
   happy	
   to	
   do	
   an	
   extra	
   activity	
   during	
   the	
  
regular	
   classes.	
   To	
   develop	
   this	
   experience,	
   I	
   think	
   we	
   need	
   a	
   lot	
   of	
  
patience,	
   love	
   for	
   what	
   we	
   do,	
   get	
   an	
   extra	
   effort	
   and	
   be	
   firm	
   with	
  
discipline	
   sometimes,	
   because	
   kids	
   love	
   playing,	
   too.	
   	
   All	
   this	
  
information	
  showed	
  me	
  that	
  the	
  lesson	
  plan	
  is	
  like	
  a	
  map,	
  that	
  we	
  follow	
  
in	
  order	
  not	
  to	
  get	
  lost	
  and	
  also	
  to	
  be	
  prepared	
  to	
  all	
  the	
  problems	
  we	
  
can	
  face	
  when	
  we	
  teach.	
  In	
  my	
  particular	
  experience	
  there	
  were	
  a	
  lot	
  of	
  
external	
  factors,	
  such	
  as	
  an	
  absent	
  teacher	
  or	
  even	
  “visits”	
  during	
  my	
  
practicum.	
  In	
  those	
  cases,	
  the	
  environment	
  had	
  to	
  be	
  prepared	
  over	
  and	
  
over.

It	
  was	
  a	
  great	
  experience	
  indeed.	
  If	
  I	
  had	
  to	
  do	
  it	
  again,	
  I	
  will	
  focus	
  on	
  
the	
  development	
  of	
  more	
  varied	
  activities.	
  In	
  the	
  future,	
  I	
  can	
  see	
  me	
  in	
  
a	
  kindergarten	
  classroom	
  teaching	
  because	
  I	
  liked	
  the	
  experience,	
  I	
  feel	
  
that	
  I	
  can	
  do	
  more	
  in	
  this	
  area	
  and	
  I	
  strongly	
  think	
  the	
  students	
  should	
  
be	
  prepared	
  since	
  their	
  early	
  ages	
  to	
  develop	
  in	
  this	
  global	
  village	
  which	
  
is	
  the	
  world	
  where	
  we	
  live.	
  
On	
  the	
  other	
  hand,	
  I	
  think	
  that	
  we	
  are	
  the	
  worst	
  critics	
  on	
  our	
  own	
  job,	
  
but	
  at	
  the	
  same	
  time	
  we	
  have	
  to	
  consider	
  all	
  the	
  factors	
  that	
  lead	
  us	
  to	
  
start	
   teaching	
   in	
   an	
   unknown	
   environment	
   and	
   do	
   it	
   with	
   a	
   lot	
   of	
  
confidence	
  and	
  hope.	
  Of	
  course	
  a	
  public	
  school	
  with	
  social	
  issues	
  and	
  
economic	
   implications	
   can	
   be	
   a	
   barrier	
   for	
   our	
   students,	
   but	
   it	
   is	
   not	
  
impossible.	
   	
   They	
   let	
   me	
   know	
   through	
   different	
   ways	
   that	
   I	
   was	
  
successful	
  in	
  teaching	
  contents,	
  helping	
  them	
  to	
  do	
  their	
  best,	
  with	
  their	
  
smiles	
  when	
  I	
  entered	
  the	
  room.	
  In	
  fact,	
  the	
  kindergarten’s	
  teacher	
  who	
  
was	
  at	
  the	
  beginning	
  afraid	
  with	
  this	
  new	
  project,	
  ended	
  	
  up	
  accepting	
  
and	
  it	
  motivated	
  her	
  to	
  share	
  ideas	
  and	
  material	
  for	
  their	
  own	
  classes.	
  	
  
Summing	
  up,	
  I	
  think	
  that	
  the	
  practicum	
  period	
  in	
  kindergarten	
  helps	
  all	
  
teachers	
   who	
   work	
   with	
   the	
   children,	
   the	
   children	
   and	
   also	
   the	
  
headmaster	
   to	
   learn	
   a	
   little	
   more	
   and	
   discover	
   the	
   capacity	
   of	
   the	
  
students	
  in	
  terms	
  to	
  learn	
  a	
  new

Kindergarten - Final Reflections

  • 1.     Materia:  Taller  de  Práctica  Docente     Nombre  del  alumno:  María  Eugenia  Calizaya     Período:  Nivel  Inicial     Paddlet:  https://padlet.com/eugeniacal/271imb9d60hr       Final  Reflections       At  the  beginning  of  my  practicum  period,  the  general  aims  were  focused   on  developing  the  skills  that  will  help  me  to  become  a  better  teacher,       Not  only  on  the  pedagogical  tools  but  also  on  the  confidence  within  the   classroom.  The  objectives  were  clear  and  I  faced  to  an  unknown  group   with  the  hope  to  give  my  best.   In  my  personal  experience  the  group  I  have  chosen  belongs  to  a  public   school,  where  the  resources  are  limited,  English  lessons  are  not  settled   in  their  curricula  and  kids  have  some  social  and  economic  factors  which   limit   the   opportunities   to   approach   to   English   lessons.   The   students   were   excited   and   they   were   happy   to   do   an   extra   activity   during   the   regular   classes.   To   develop   this   experience,   I   think   we   need   a   lot   of   patience,   love   for   what   we   do,   get   an   extra   effort   and   be   firm   with   discipline   sometimes,   because   kids   love   playing,   too.     All   this   information  showed  me  that  the  lesson  plan  is  like  a  map,  that  we  follow   in  order  not  to  get  lost  and  also  to  be  prepared  to  all  the  problems  we   can  face  when  we  teach.  In  my  particular  experience  there  were  a  lot  of   external  factors,  such  as  an  absent  teacher  or  even  “visits”  during  my   practicum.  In  those  cases,  the  environment  had  to  be  prepared  over  and   over.   Aurelia 5/26/17 9:31 AM Deleted: . It  was  a  great  experience  indeed.  If  I  had  to  do  it  again,  I  will  focus  on   the  development  of  more  varied  activities.  In  the  future,  I  can  see  me  in   a  kindergarten  classroom  teaching  because  I  liked  the  experience,  I  feel   that  I  can  do  more  in  this  area  and  I  strongly  think  the  students  should   be  prepared  since  their  early  ages  to  develop  in  this  global  village  which   is  the  world  where  we  live.   On  the  other  hand,  I  think  that  we  are  the  worst  critics  on  our  own  job,   but  at  the  same  time  we  have  to  consider  all  the  factors  that  lead  us  to   start   teaching   in   an   unknown   environment   and   do   it   with   a   lot   of   confidence  and  hope.  Of  course  a  public  school  with  social  issues  and   economic   implications   can   be   a   barrier   for   our   students,   but   it   is   not   impossible.     They   let   me   know   through   different   ways   that   I   was   successful  in  teaching  contents,  helping  them  to  do  their  best,  with  their   smiles  when  I  entered  the  room.  In  fact,  the  kindergarten’s  teacher  who   was  at  the  beginning  afraid  with  this  new  project,  ended    up  accepting   and  it  motivated  her  to  share  ideas  and  material  for  their  own  classes.     Summing  up,  I  think  that  the  practicum  period  in  kindergarten  helps  all   teachers   who   work   with   the   children,   the   children   and   also   the   headmaster   to   learn   a   little   more   and   discover   the   capacity   of   the   students  in  terms  to  learn  a  new  language.     Aurelia 5/26/17 9:34 AM Comment [1]: It`s  great  to  know  this!   Aurelia 5/26/17 9:35 AM Deleted: ourselves   Aurelia 5/26/17 9:35 AM Deleted: where   Aurelia 5/26/17 9:36 AM Deleted: for   Aurelia 5/26/17 9:36 AM Deleted: s Aurelia 5/26/17 9:36 AM Deleted: to   Aurelia 5/26/17 9:36 AM Deleted: s Aurelia 5/26/17 9:37 AM Deleted: to   Aurelia 5/26/17 9:37 AM Deleted: s
