The domestic stock markets opened lower but gained momentum later in the day and closed with modest gains. The markets took cues from subdued global markets and disappointing industrial production numbers but buying support increased on hopes of stimulus from the Reserve Bank of India. Technically, market breadth was positive with lower trading volumes and most technical indicators were in positive territory, suggesting the markets may witness a range-bound opening. Key support and resistance levels for the Nifty are noted.
