On-Going Reliability Test (ORT) Manager 7 ½ years
• Managed a department of 12 Engineers and Technicians. Responsible for ORT, Accelerated
Life test, OEM and Retail, Warranty failure analysis.
• Designed the ORT test for all Iomega disk drives. This analysis data was used to determine
the reliability of current production from several manufacturing sites. ORT was used to catch process
and parts failures before they were shipped to the customer.
• Designed the Accelerated Life test. The analysis data generated was used to improve future
designs and determine reliability of components and design.
• Managed the Warranty return process and analyzed a statistical sample of returns to
determine the scope and breadth of failures and the appropriate corrective action.
• Management responsibility to develop and document our Quality processes under ISO 9000
procedures. The ORT department had an excellent record of developing Process instructions and then
training satellite locations on their application and use.
Zip Drive Manufacturing Manager 2 years
• Managed the Zip drive manufacturing department. 80 Production operators and 12
Technicians.
• Managed the design and test of Production Tooling.
• Senior Manufacturing manager, first manager to build the Zip drive, and develop the processes
and procedures for build and Test. Instrumental in training the Penang Malaysia Manufacturing plant.
2. • Managed an Engineering team to develop and build assembly tooling. The Zip HSA rod
insertion tool was developed under cost and ahead of schedule, resulted in a 50% improvement in
cycle time.
Product Service Manager 2 years
• Managed the Warranty Service Area. 15 technicians and 2 support personnel.
• Managed Profit and Loss center. Designed Warranty repair process.
• Team achieved a 30% reduction in Warranty repair costs over a two year period.
• Improved processes, allowed the Team to increase Quality and productivity and improve our
profit margin by 28% over a two-year period. Basically we turned this department from an expense to a
profit center that was able to also cut Warranty repair costs and improved customer satisfaction.

• Managed Drive build and Test area. 30 Manufacturing employees, 15 technicians
• Responsible to direct, the build and Test process.
• Managed the development and training of Total Quality Control and Continuous Flow
manufacturing.

• Improved Test Process’s which resulted in improved overall reliability of PCA’s and reduced
costs by over 50%
