I am the daughter, granddaughter and niece of attorneys and, therefore, have been
exposed to different parts of law and the legal system for most of my life.

Stone of Superior Court, judge. There were differences between the behaviors of the
attorneys and the members of the court when the judge was not sitting on the bench,
differences in the types of cases presented to each level of the court, and differences
in the behaviors of the judges.
The first court I observed was District Court. The judge that was sitting on the bench
was Judge Hastings. Soon after I arrived at the courtroom Judge Hastings called for a
short recess, which became an hour long recess. This recess gave me the opportunity
to observe individuals in the courtroom, particularly the different attorneys. I was

On 06/27/2017, I, Dillon Dickerson, badge #155, was working as a Patrol Officer
for the Wichita State University Police Department, in Wichita, Sedgwick County,
Kansas. At approximately 0204 hours Dispatch advised there was an employee at
Heskett Center who wanted to report a vending machine which was broken into. I
arrived at the Heskett center and made contact with Lanora Lowe who is part of
the Heskett cleaning crew. I asked Lanora what was going on and she said to
follow her to the vending machine. I followed Lanora to the vending machines
located in the lounge which overlooks the main swimming pool. Lanora took me to
a food vending machine which belonged to Sodexo. The vending machine had a
identifying number on it which was HC 10053. Lanora informed me she came to
this vending machine eariler in the night and tried to purchase some items from it.

For methodology, it was fortunate that I got the opportunity to join the Directed
Reading Program on statistical methods, ranking soccer teams in cooperation with
Dr. Steve. Because outcomes involving multiple categories occur more often, we
wanted to compare and improve existing ranking methods, and made them suitable
for more classifications. For example, primarily, there was only one classification:
scores. To advance, currently, classification of yardages would also be considered
when ranking. After collecting unstructured data online, we used least squares to get
the squared matrix for Massey s Method but found it failed to cover multiple
categories simultaneously. After research and comparison of other methods, we
found that Markov Method succeeded because the weights can be assigned to
eigenvectors of normalized stochastic matrices. Since we have found the desired
method, we reached the agreement that the comparison between the two methods was
consequential here. The results by using the two methods of ranking the same set of
scores were different. Therefore, on the seminar, I concluded that Markov methods
outperformed Massey s Method in the research, but further research suggests that
Massey s Methods have a better performance under some circumstances. It is the
