to Win Life Strategies Coaching is offering several workshops and courses. If
you have a specific type of workshop or course that you would like to attend,

http://www.borntowincoaching.org. We also maintain a blog
http://borntowincoachingblog.com, a Facebook page
http://www.facebook.com/borntowincoaching, and Twitter account
@JodyCLSC. I hope you enjoy the workshop.
Today’s Topics
• Your personal mission statement
• Beliefs and Values
• Presuppositions
• Your desired state
• How do I get there?
When you form your own mission statement, you are
accomplishing a number of things that will get you on your way
to your desired state or goal.
1. What would your life story be about?
2. What have you devoted your time and talents to?
3. This becomes a personal standard for you, a self-created
road map of how you will choose to live despite the
unpredictable things in life and the emotions associated.
MISSION STATEMENT
Where do I start?
Consider the following questions:
Values
• What’s important to me?
• What qualities connect me to a greater purpose?
• What presuppositions embody my personal truth?
Identity
• Who am I?
• What am I? What is your resume?
• How do others describe me?
Mission
• Who or what is beyond myself?
• What do I want to accomplish?
• What are my goals?
VALUES
• Take a moment to answer the values questions and make notes
that will keep you on this trail of self exploration.
• What’s important to me?
• What in life matters the most to you? What things are
most important?
• Make a list and prioritize them.
• What qualities connect me to a greater purpose?
• Greater purpose could be something you believe (faith)
or it could be a connection to the next chapter in your
life. (Desired state)
IDENTITY
• Who am I?
• How do I identify myself.
• What am I? What is your resume?
• Are you a spouse, sister, aunt…?
• What do you do?
• What is important for you to identify yourself with?
• How do others describe me?
• If your neighbor was to talk about the kind of person
you are, what would they say?
• What would your family or significant other say?
BUILD YOUR MISSION
• What would your life story be about?
• Where are you going?
• What do you want to accomplish?
• Why?
• What have you devoted your time and talents to?
• Look at your identity and values.
• This becomes a personal standard for you, a self-created
road map of how you will choose to live despite the
unpredictable things in life and the emotions associated.
THE NEXT STEPS
• Take your mission statement and put it to use
• Look at how your values line up with where you want to go
• What are your dreams?
• What motivates you?
• How would you know when you have achieved your goal?
DREAMS
• What are dreams for?
• Dreams are goals that have not been set yet
• Are they good for you?
• Absolutely, you need to set your goals
• Be realistic
• How do you put them to use?
• Organize your life
• Do your dreams motivate you completely?
• Once you have those goals, set a timeline
• How do we get there?
• Work
PRESUPPOSITIONS - SAFETY
1. Behind every behavior there is a positive intention.
1. Find the original intention for the behavior. Then you create a new and
better choice to preserve the positive intention and allow for behavioral
change.
2. People already have all the resources they need.
1. Conscious access to these resources at appropriate times and places will
enable a person to move from present state to desired state.
2. Chunking and practice will give you the full benefit of your resources.
3. The messenger never rests until the message is delivered.
1. When there is a symptom or communication, it’s important to pay attention.
4. People always make the best choice available to them at the time.
1. There are often better choices.
2. The goal is to discover more effective options.
3. Learn to take feedback.
5. Choice is better than no choice.
1. The element in a system with the most flexibility has the most control.
2. One way = stuck, 2 options = dilemma, 3 or more options = choices
PRESUPPOSITIONS - PERSPECTIVE
1. The map is not the territory.
1. People respond to their map or interpretation, not to reality itself.
2. Explore the commonalities we share, rather than alienating one another
because we are different.
2. The meaning of you communication is the response you get.
1. Effective communication creates an experience for the listener or reader. The
quality of our communication is based on the response we elicit, and may not
necessarily match what we intended to communicate.
PRESUPPOSITIONS - LEARNING
1. Anything can be accomplished when the task is broken down into small enough
chunks.
1. All tasks contain various levels of detail.
2. Tasks are completed when all the necessary details are put together.
3. An outcome that may seem overwhelming can be accomplished when
approached one step at a time.
2. If one person can do something, anyone can.
1. It’s possible to discover the components and strategies needed to achieve a
particular result and teach it to anyone else.
3. There is no such thing as failure, only feedback.
1. Everything is a learning opportunity.
2. Separate behavior from identity.
3. Recognize when the behavioral choices a person makes describes their
identity.
4. If what you are doing isn’t working, do anything else.
1. A definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again,
expecting different results. (Albert Einstein)
STAY ORGANIZED
• Find a way to keep yourself accountable
• Use a calendar
• Use a planning system i.e. Franklin Planner or Day
Timer, MS Outlook, etc.
• Use a planning calendar app on your phone or tablet
• Set a deadline
• Set reminders
• Keep your timeline and check it often
• Plan your week on Sunday night
• Plan the next day before bed
• Take your list of goals
• Get out the sample goal sheet
• Let’s set a goal
ACCOUNTABILITY AND STRATEGY
• Use your planning system
• Check it throughout your day
• Have a task list
• Check things off as you accomplish them
• When you leave things incomplete, it will wear you out
• Knowing you have completed your tasks each day will
invigorate you and get you motivated
• Don’t let yourself get lazy
• Don’t put anything off that is a priority for the day
• Keep reviewing your priorities
USING YOUR CALENDAR TO THE FULLEST
• Look at each day separately
• Every weekend plan for the coming week
• Set your goals
• Prioritize your goals
• Cover all the important bases
• Each morning look at your planner and each night check the
next day
• Check off what is done as you complete it
• Keep notes for yourself
• Keep on top of what you need to complete today
BE REALISITIC
• If it won’t fit in the time you have today, put it in for tomorrow
with a higher priority
MOTIVATION
All this information works, but you must have the motivation
to drive you to succeed!!!
~ By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail. ~
Benjamin Franklin
This is an important thing to remember. We must keep
organized and focus on our goals.
WHAT ARE YOU AIMING FOR??
• Think about what prompted you to join this workshop
session.
• What do you want to achieve?
• Are the tools here helpful?
• What else do you want to know about goals and getting
to where you want to be?
