The document discusses four perspectives of social psychology - sociocultural, evolutionary, social cognitive, and social learning - and how the author experienced them in preparing for an exam. Specifically, the author notes how exam culture influenced them to focus on memorization rather than learning. The author also discusses how lack of sleep due to last-minute studying impacted them due to evolutionary needs for rest. However, the author learned to take notes in class for deeper understanding from observing a classmate, showing social learning.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Theories or concepts: Sociocultural Perspective, Evolutionary Perspective, Social
Cognitive Perspective and Social Learning Perspective
There are four different perspectives of social psychology which are the
sociocultural perspective, evolutionary perspective, social cognitive perspective and social
earning perspective. These four social psychology perspective are common in our daily
life. They may occur surrounding between you and I everyday. Therefore, they may
influence our life.
Nowadays, exams become very important in students’ life. It is an assessment to
measure students’ knowledge, skills, aptitude and others. The results will be often in grade
or in score. Every students are willing to get the high score. Even though their parents and
teachers also hope that the students can get the good results. All of these expectations
form a negative culture which is changing students to become an exam machines.
Students only focus on what will be come out in the exam and they memorise all that
points. This negative culture influence the students when they study. It make them to think
that exam is more important than learning.
In my course, there are many of my coursemates will try to memorise all the
informations from the presentation slides given by lectures before exams. These may
caused them have a short-term memory about the lessons for the preparations before the
exam. However, all these lessons will be forget by them soon after the exam. This
negative culture had also influenced me. I forced myself to memorise the important points
that the exam will come out because I did not had much time to prepare my exam. This
was one of the faster way for me to review the lessons. I felt that I was learning nothing
even though I was reading. Plus, the points that I memorised had be forgot after few days.
This showed that I only had a short-term memory about the lessons instead of long-term
memory. Therefore, I changed this negative attitude after that exam because the method
was not good for learning.
3. Students nowadays pay more attention on exams than learning skills from the
teaching of lectures. This is because they believe that a good results is more important
and believe that good certificates will help them to achieve what they want in the future
such as higher opportunities to get a good job and high salary. Therefore, they think that
exams will be place at their first place in their cognition. It assumes that a person’s
cognitive process will be influenced by behavioural associations. Last time, I also thought
that results were more important but I changed my opinion. In my opinion, I felt that exams
will not help me so much in my future. This is because many university students also did
not get any jobs after they graduated even though they had a good certificate. I learned
that knowledge are one of the wealth that only for me and help me in my life.
The evolutionary perspective of social psychology occurred when I was preparing
for my exam. I did not sleep on the day before exam to review the tips that given by the
lecture that the tips may come out in the exam. I am the one who need to sleep for at least
six hours a day. I will feel not energy and spirit to do thing if I do not have enough rest.
However, I gave up my sleeping time that day for my exam because I wished to get a
better result in exam. Therefore, it showed that when a person is worry about something,
he or she will try to put more efforts as well as making changes on himself or herself. This
showed that human will enhance their potential when they are in a forced situation.
Humans learning in every second. People will not stop learning no matter what age
they are. For an example, a person injured after he touched a hot kettle, then he learned
that he should not touch the kettle when it is still hot. This showed that people learned
lessons from their experiences in daily life. I would make some notes to record the lessons
given by the lectures. This method let me understand deeply about the lessons taught by
the lectures. I learned this method from one of my coursemates after observed her. I
realised that she will make notes to record the lessons that lectures teach at that time. She
always got better result compared to others. Then, I started to mak notes in class like she.
I realised that this method is efficient that students can review their notes and get deeper
understanding towards the lessons.
In a nutshell, these four social psychology’s perspectives are common occur in our
life. I experienced these perspectives before my exam. I noted that these perspectives
4. may be positive or negative to us sometimes. If we focus on the negative role model or
things, we also will be influenced.
