This School Based Assessment is about a business that I plan to invest in for the future. Its content clearly
states the efficiency, creativity, and regulations that “Sporting Freaks,” will adhere to.

2. DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS
I will be opening a sole trader business, and the outlet- ‘Sporting Freaks,’ will supply the latest
in clothes and accessories for teenagers.
In addition, the objective of my business will be to satisfy my customer’s wants and
needs with the latest sporting and athletic designs in clothing, shoes and accessories. For more
customer satisfaction, all teenagers once in a football or basketball club or any other sporting
club for that matter, they will have a 10% discount of every item in my store. Also every six
months there will be a 30% of sale on every item in the store. Also, I will take in customer
requests and orders on products that my store may not have in doing this the business will have a
pleasing look to the public.

3. JUSTIFICATION OF LOCATION
There is a small mall in my home town of Gasparillo, Which will be very suitable for my
business to be located at.
The Reasons why I will choose to locate my business here in the local mall is because
there are always costumers moving in an out of the mall. Additionally another reason why I
would like to locate here is because, the mall is a place full of stores and shopping outlets which
shall provide me with costumers who are hungry for awesome deals and the best quality in
sporting gear and accessories. There is also adequate parking facilities in this mall. Therefore,
Customers can take their time to shop knowing their vehicles are safe and unharmed from theft
or vandalism.

4. SECTION OF APPROPRIATE LABOR
In my business I will be employing semi-skilled and unskilled workers. There will be one
semi-skilled and two unskilled workers. I being the owner of the business will make all the
decisions in managing the business, I will be responsible for looking after all the financial
operations and my employees.
Therefore, there will be two sales clerks who will be responsible for looking after the
needs of the customers. They will also be responsible for replacing stock on the shelves and
organizing display cases, and keeping the store tidy. And the semi-skilled worker will be
responsible for operating the cash register when customers are ready to pay for their products.

5. SOURSES OF FIXED AND WORING CAPITAL
I will be using my savings to start this business together with a loan from my parents.
Some of the money will be used to purchase all the necessary equipment to be used in my store.
These equipment will be things like cash registers, show cases, computers, mirrors, and air
conditioning units for a more comfortable and relaxing store atmosphere for the employees and
customers.
Also, part of the money will then be used to purchase stock, and to pay for the daily
running of the business, such as wages and also to insure my business against unfortunate
assurances like theft and fires.

6. ROLES OF THE ENTREPRENUER
As an entrepreneur I will be the one who organizes and co-ordinates the factors of
production, I am also the one who shows vision and creativity.
Therefore some of the roles I would be expected to fulfil are, to bring in the necessary
capital to start this business, in so doing I will be co-ordinating the factors of capital and labour. I
will also be taking a risk in starting this business but, with hard work dedication and
determination this business will surely be more than successful in years to come.

7. TYPE OF PRODUCTION
The type of business production that will take place in my establishment is tertiary
production.
So basically tertiary production is to provide a service or services to customers. Some
examples of these services are attending to the customers, helping the customers set up newly
bought products like, the stomach King Pro.

8. LEVELS OF PRODUCTION
My business will be producing a service at the domestic level.
This means that I will be producing a service for the people of Gsaparillo and the
surrounding areas. Providing them with the best in sporting gear like, Nike, Puma, Underamour,
Adidas and much more.

9. QUALITY CONTROL MEASURES
I will ensure that only authentic clothing and accessories of the best quality will be sold at
my store to maintain customer satisfaction in the products I sell. The products I will be selling at
my store will be bought from reputable producers and designers such as Nike, Adidas, Umbro,
DRI-FIT and others.
Another quality control measure that I will have in my business will be efficient sales
clerk with adequate knowledge of all the products in the business.

10. USE OF THECHNOLOGY
My business will be using a ‘Sensomatic ultra max checkpoint’ at the exit along
with security pins and tags on all the products to prevent theft.
Another technological device I will be using in my business will be a desktop computer. I
will use this to store all the information of the business and also all the accounting aspect of the
business will be done using the desktop therefore making it easy to manage.

11. LINGKAGES
The type of linkage to be derived from my business will be forward linkage.
This particular linkage will help create employment in the business I will be purchasing my
products from foreign producers and designers.

12. POTENTIAL FOR GROWTH
I would like to see my business grow in the future. I would like to expand my business
externally by opening another brunch of my business in different locations around the country.
My business can also be expanded internally. I can do so by increasing the commercial
space I rent thus making more space for a wider array of products available for purchase by my
customers.

13. GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS
I will follow all the government regulations and guidelines in setting up my business.
The OSHA act will be enforce at my business for the safety of my customers and
employees. By doing so the employees will be more productive and efficient also the customers
will able to shop freely without any fear of be injured.
In addition, I will pay all the necessary taxes that the business is required to pay to the
government.

14. ETHICAL ISSUES
I would like the population to view my business in a favourable sight, so I will ensure
that no unethical practices would take place at my business.
My business will therefore be committed to the preservation on the environment, so I will
ensure that I properly dispose of all the waste products of the business, following the
environmental regulations. Additionally my business will be engaged in a ‘Go Green’ initiative.
Also I will ensure that the NIS fees for my employees insurance are paid.
